    Perhaps they weren't clashing properly?

Of course there won't be BBCF extend, don't be silly. Blazblue CTCSCPCF, the complete collectors edition, with all of the BB games remastered and re-balanced, including all characters up to central fiction and it's DLC roster, featuring the addition of Linhua, Bang Subordinate A-C, Offscreen Restaurant Worker, Lambda's Tartar, and Alpha-1 as playable characters, will be coming to a store near you in 2018, with Jubei as release DLC. All yo yens

More of Sendatsu being a general inspiration for our viewing pleasure, first versus a carl then him vs the world.

Es' Theme is pretty forward if you think of it. She's a gatekeeper. Sword is styled to look like a key, she creates zones where you're locked out of because they're delayed hit boxes and running into them is suicide, overall really strong space control, and punishes people hard for not respecting her space from the looks of it. I'm almost inclined try her maid-esque style of dress has some 'maid keeping the house while the lord/azure is a away' thing but really, that's a happy coincidence at best. Mai's theme is thinly veiled innuendo who can swing her spear both ways.

I wonder if the buffed versions will suffer from smp if an unbuffed version was used previously in a combo. On that same line of thought, would the cross version of her fireball also smp from the normal one?

Hot combos, fresh off nikki's control stick.

Lambda is really good at controlling the opponent now. improved speed of her swords lets her zone better. The changes to her act parser zwei are actually really good because the initial hit looks either neutral or slightly plus on block so you can get in with zero commitment and the opponent is forced to anticipate mixup with her 6A/B follow ups, especially when she has 50 heat and can actually combo out of the overhead. In addition to that almost all of her new combo routes have stupid screen carry, and in the corner her new 6C->22D ender routes lets her set up oki from a super safe distance. Plus she's one of the characters who is really thankful for EA being a safe on block reversal, which as an added bonus puts your opponent about 2/3 of the screen away on hit. Not so sure about celica, she seems to have problems outputting damage in a lot of cases, but that new healing mechanic is strong when used properly. Have you SEEN her OD on low health and combo into the healing super? She regains over half her health, it's ridiculous.

Honestly, I've been seeing a fair amount of Kagura performing well recently(mostly on gamechariot). He doesn't look too bad. At the very least I wouldn't say he's to CF what Terumi was to BBCPEX. If i was begged for a comparison, CPEX's lambda is what comes to mind- not so much outrageously bad, but just outclassed, though he's a little less consistant in the sense he needs to get the ball moving or else he'll be really useless since his neutral is kinda... Granted, this is on the eyes of someone who's experience with Kagura is limited to the first 5 levels of challenge mode, so take it with a grain of salt. A large grain. More like a rock, really.

Well, they had Kokonoe whip up Nirvana so Celica could be playable, since celica has no offensive prowess. Things change.

Considering Arc seems to have no problem re-packaging and re-releasing their games as extends, running out of developer time/effort seems far-fetched to me. Given the hype surrounding the jubster, they could probably churn out an extend where it's JUST CF+Jubei and it would do well. I'll concede to that point, though there seems to have been an effort to conserve aspects of her playstyle in Nu (gravity canceling instead of mode switch canceling, off the top of my head)

1."Slots" are a totally imaginary concept, there's no magic rule that the bb cast can't exceed X many characters or something ridiculous like that. Things like budgets and slots are usually just excuses for characters they didn't intend to be in the game in the first place, or was considered low priority. (which given the jubei discussion in this very thread, arc knows that he's not a low priority character just like they know kokonoe had a highly anticipated release) 2. Objectionable as fuck. As someone who used to main lambda back in CS, Mode Switch Nu as a concept was exciting, but in practice felt fucking awful to play. She was zoning and rush-down with zoning aspects stitched together and each mode individually had to be weak as a result for balance purposes, leaving people who loved CT Nu's zoning focus and people who embraced lambda's more rushdown/zoning hybrid style both high and dry, forced to cooperate with a half of a character you never really asked for. Not to mention she was oddly execution heavy with her mode-swaps, which felt super awful coming off of Lambda really simple execution. I'll take two characters that two entirely different groups of people can love, rather than one Frankenstein's monster of a character, press 22A to not drop the combo edition, any day. No it wasn't perfect either, and they have a problem in CPEX where they're a little too similar, and Nu is a little too strong, so Lambda is trapped in her shadow, though this seems to be less of a problem in CF.

IIRC he can swap positions with people or something with his sekigan? That's the impression I remember getting from the story mode that explains how hakumen got dumped in the boundary, though I'll admit it's been a while. Given the right moveset(like moves like Hibiki's J.C that have hitboxes on either side of him, for instance), being able to swap positions with your opponent could lead to a pretty neat playstyle.

I'll bite. Perhaps broken is a strong word (given it's connotation) but I do think that Carl is strong in an overbearing manner, lacking in meaningful holes in his gameplan from what I've observed. There have definitely been characters who were 'more broken' since CF is looking like a game with a relatively small powergap between high and low teirs in comparison to other iterations, but just because worse things exist doesn't mean Carl can't be crazy, especially in the right hands. I can't seem to find the video you're referencing, unfortunately, though I can glean the point you're making from other vids I've seen. My problem with Carl is that while his approach is nothing godlike, his ability to respond to approach looks quite strong. Like you said, Arcade delay is probably inflating his ability to screw with people, it's easy to forget cabs have a slight delay (tbh it's never something that made sense to me) and it should certainly help in dealing with Carl (and Nine, now that I think about it) once console release comes out. That all being said, I really don't think I understand the "Developed RPS" you're talking about, It's actually probably the first time I've seen the term used. From the article I just read on it, it seems to basically boil down to mindgames and training habits? Not sure if my finals-addled brain is parsing it correctly though, lol. Do you mind elaborating a bit?

Very strong, yes, broken, not really. Nine has a really strong neutral game, and kunzite of faceblock is one of the strongest moves in the game right now, to the point it seriously homogenizes her gameplay, and alomst all combos end in some killer oki. She has defensive tools, good ones, but they aren't always avaialble. A Nine with no magic stuck in the corner is a very sad nine indeed. Carl is what I would call broken. His neutral is an absurdly frustrating litchi lite: more movement edition, and has crossup and mixup for days, has no problem establishing oki, his corner pressure is what I would call borderline unfair because ada can negate pushback, so good luck getting out of that without a DP(not that carl cares THAT much about DPs anyways since he's got bait for days). This would all be okay were it not for the fact that he is insanely frustrating to lockdown because the second you start to pressure ada comes flying in with an offscreen fuoco to ream your ass. This would also be acceptable if breaking ada was a serious 'oh shit' moment for carl, and not just 'well, time to play keepaway for 10 seconds.' Right now the only thing that's keeping him from becoming truly insane is because he's pretty difficult mechanically.
