Has anyone been able to actually download the Rev 2 upgrade patch for EU PS3? I've bought it but its just the 127kb unlock file and Revelator itself still isn't updated yet so I can't actually play Rev2.

I have the Japanese version on PS3, but after installing the small unlock file it changed automatically to Rev2. Rev2 itself should have been included in the last patch for Revelator. Are you sure it installed correctly?

Apparently you have to do the character's respective arcade route. It wasn't made clear which Act to beat, or if you need to do all 3 Acts for one character. Could someone find out what the answer to that is then, please?

All I know is that completing just the first act for a character isn't enough to unlock their system voice. I would assume you need to complete all acts, but that's just me speculating.

    Latest sales.

The PS3 version is out of the top 20, sold less than 3.100 units that week.

Those numbers aren't looking too good. Are those lifetime sales (26,507) just for the PS4 version?

Comparing it to the better selling version of Chrono Phantasma (PS3) around the same time frame:

    10/28/13 – 11/3/13
    [PS3] BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma (Arc System Works, 10/24/13) – 14,307 (86,771)

The 28th of September was also 4 days after the Japanese console release of Chrono Phantasma, so I think it should be comparable to the sales numbers you posted. Arcsys must be a bit disappointed by these numbers.

  4. Because I'm not heavily invested in Blazblue's lore and characters, I'm pretty much indifferent to the character itself and her inclusion over any other possible character. From a gameplay perspective however I think she sounds interesting. It's obviously a bit early to tell, but I think the Famitsu scans make her out to be a fun addition to the BB roster. I'm wondering how exactly her drive is going to be used; if it's just a glorified projectile for neutral or if it has other uses. I guess time will tell.

  5. When it comes to the performance of the PS3 version, didn't people mainly complain about the Edinburgh MagicaPolis stage?

I played the PS3 version of Revelator just now and it looks like Sign. As expected the PS3 version lacks at least some of the new lighting effects. It doesn't looks like stages have the new global lighting that affects the character models and the feature of projectiles being their own light sources isn't in. Since I don't have any capturing tools I took a quick photo to illustrate (pardon the subpar image quality):

The game runs like Sign did on the PS3; completely fine from what I can tell. I set up a Jack-O' mirror and had all minions out while running around and I couldn't notice any performance drop. I can't speak for any possible performance drop on the different stages, since I've always had a hard time noticing it, even on Edinburgh MagicaPolis.

That said I'm still a sucker for pretty graphics, so if/when they release a PC version I'll be sure to pick it up.

Also is the Speed vs Performance still an option?

I think it's still there. But having speed enabled never seemed to make much of a difference to me.

Only more story and Dizzy have been officially stated, I believe. But now it's only Dizzy probably, since this update added the rest of the story, unless they plan to add side stories.

I see. I haven't checked out the story mode so I wasn't sure if it was finished or if they planned on releasing even more parts. Thanks for the explanation.

They've never specified how many patches they plan to put out. That wouldn't even really be a good idea, since you never really know how many you'll need.

A balance patch is presumably a long ways off, but DLC characters get their data added via patches so that those who don't buy them can still play against them online. This was how players who didn't buy Leo were able to face those played him in Sign, as he was added in the day 0 patch, and Dizzy will handled the same way whenever she comes out.

Yeah, that was poorly phrased by me. I should probably have asked if they had announced that regular patches would be a thing with Revelator and if they had stated whether they would contain only be story-related things or not. With a few exceptions, Arcsys haven't exactly been big on post-launch DLC. I was wondering if they were going with a new business strategy.

New patch is out(2.479GB), 1.01, the biggest thing from it is that it adds more story to the story mode.

I've been a bit out of the loop. Has Arcsys said anything about how many of these patches they are going to make and if they have any plans on releasing not just story, but gameplay-related content like DLC characters and more balance patches for the console version this time around?

Overview trailer of the console version. You can move the camera during replays (only PS4). Now they are adding this feature, they should add a 3D model viewer in the future.

That trailer was surprisingly elaborate. I almost expected there to be side-by-side comparisons of the visual changes from Sign to Revelator as well. It seems to me as if they are trying harder to market Revelator. I had hoped they'd at least show Dizzy, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit more for that.

Man, I really hope they retain the online stuff for PC.

    Even better would be cross-play

We can only hope, but I'm guessing cross-play is out of the question. At this point I just hope PC gets the features aside from player lobbies.
