Well I mean, HOS is an ALTERNATE version of Sol, so is he really any different than all the Valentines we have running around? If he looked different like had his hair loose instead of a ponytail or something would that make him easier to stomach?

Did I come to Smashboards by mistake, because otherwise I have no idea why HOS being the same entity as Sol is even remotely an issue when he's an extremely unique character even by GG standards. None of you would be bitching if he wasn't the same entity as Sol. I don't play him and I probably never will but come the hell on...

If you hadn't noticed, the underlay at the very start of the HUD ("The Wheel of Fate Is Turning") displays both character's emblems on the respective sides of the screens. Beautiful.

That's extremely subjective, but I will say that watching Relius's eternal blockstrings with block hitsounds that sound like rubber and wet farts is definitely not very satisfying lol.

Well to be fair, those characters won't get in unless people actually play, the dollar system practically guarantees that.

I'm still contemplating whether it's worth giving up from Relius changes or not, so far I'm not happy with them either. But it's not like there's not going to be a 1.1 balance update like both CS and CP went through so who knows.

Well, as I understand Zato is a character that requires you to take your lumps and put in lab time even more than any other character. I'm absolutely fine with that, just that if I'm going to do that I wanted it to be someone I'm really dedicated to. I'll think it over, but unfortunately it sounds like your advice is going to be the decision I'll have to go with. Thanks for your time. EDIT: Just spent a few hours in training with Zato. I definitely feel like he is closer to Relius and I appreciate you suggesting him to me. But what I enjoyed with Relius just isn't here. I guess I'm back to square one. Bullet's regular throw animation is a goddamn frankensteiner, doesn't get any more wrestler than that. Go with her.

Zato isn't even close to Relius, his puppet is controlled with negative edge like Carl's rather than being a dependent entity like Relius's. He's also not that dark seeing as he's no longer possessed by Eddie. I appreciate the help but it doesn't seem like Zato is a good suggestion.

Not even remotely my problem, I'm afraid. BB characters to me all have a sense of uniqueness with their drives that give them a clear game plan, while GG characters to me don't have that. That and as characters most of GG characters just seem like generic anime character archetypes to me instead of genuine personalities. But this isn't a BB vs GG thread, this is a help me find a character o play in this god forsaken game thread.

I find all of the characters to be extremely boring, if not for their character then for their play style. What am I looking for in a character? Someone I'll find fulfilling not only as a fighting game character whose gameplay I will find rewarding, but also as a personality, and so far nobody in Xrd has been able to meet these conditions for me. I can play pretty much any play style but considering my character in BB is Relius (if I had to pick "subs" it would be Ragna and Hazama) then I think that gives a clear distinction of what I'm interested in. Fucking with people and making them either block and get hit with a mixup, or punishing them hard for trying to mash out. Who do I find aesthetically pleasing? Compared to BB nobody, really.

It has nothing to do with disliking the game, it's that I can't find a single character I have any drive to play, they're all dull to me compared to BB. I keep hoping they'll announce someone I think is cool bu tthat hasn't happened yet.

I think I might have asked this before but I can't find my post, so I'll ask again. Who do I play in Xrd. Seriously, I'm not enjoying anyone in this game. I find every single one of these characters to be boring as hell both from a gameplay and a character perspective, even if I enjoyed them in the X2 series. I have absolutely no idea who to use and I'm about to just give up. Nobody seems fulfilling or rewarding to me in this and all of the top tiers seem like they take too much genuine work and effort to just be a lazy tier rider. Please help me so that I can actually enjoy this game.

Well for me there are characters I miss (like Zappa and Testament) but for the most part I dislike the vast overwhelmingy majority of GG's characters, so if they bring in new characters that means there's a chance of someone I will like. I don't like Jack-O though so it's conflicted.

If they can perform well enough to get him in, then sure why not. At least you know whoever ends up winning is actually going to get played as.

That's why I don't expect Bridget to do well. He's not a very popular pick so unless players that do well vote for him just for the hell of it I don't expect the few top Bridget players alone to be enough to get him up there. We must also consider however that there will be players who already have their character and are using their world dollars to vote for a new character anyway, so on the other hand Bridget might still do well.

The issue with that is, by the time it BECOMES a console home product, the poll will be over, since the console product is a port of the arcade one. Is it the most ideal practice? No, not really, but arcades will always be the prioritized version of the game to them, as it's where the vast majority of the play comes from. Yes, that small subset of gaming culture in a tiny country gets more GG play than the rest of the world put together, funny enough. If the arcade version existed outside of Japan, the poll would likely include them as well. In fact, remember that the Nesica Live service that carries USF4 and BBCPE just recently hit a few select US locations. But then you'll have even more problems where in order to get world dollars to vote, you'll have to drive out to very specific arcades in states that may be very far away from where you live. And even then, there's no guarantee you'll play well enough to be eligble to vote. It's a mess. Also just a small correction and nitpick, but Arcsys are not from South Africa, that's just where Ishiwatari (who doesn't own the company) was born.
