I think this will be the case, to make her not have as many instant overheads.

Well, technically speaking, there's a chance that Daisuke and Pachi will call me and ask to use my likeness and make me into a Xrd character, it's just an astronomically low one. So yes, there is a chance of Bridget making it into the game, but at this point I wouldn't count on it since there hasn't been any mention of more characters coming yet, aside from poll winner Dizzy and the first DLC character.
On that note, they wouldn't make Dizzy a DLC character would they? Since the poll was for the arcade version, surely they wouldn't make the arcade players wait on version 2.0 to get her?

You can even pre order on said website. http://guiltygear.us/ggxrdr/.

BBCF had a semi-American arcade release where some places were getting the Nesica cabs, so I think it would be in GG"s best interests to try and follow suit next time. It wouldn't completely solve the problem because only a handful of locations would be getting it, but it would be a step in the right direction for sure.

Yeah I don't think Evo will run Revelator, people will have to do a side tournament if they want it. Evo wouldn't even run DLC characters for Smash that were out like a month before. This is one of those times where it's fortunate that Revelator has the same balance as Sign.

We won't have to wait long to see her at least. Should be fun.

I'm all for these threads having more substantial gameplay discussion but I legitimately don't know how we're supposed to discuss a character we haven't even seen fight yet. Her article doesn't even give a vague description of her move set either.

I still want to know how you know she's moe. Since you've established that female does not = moe to you, all we have to go by is a very vague mugshot of her face.

Celica is top? You're not talking about CPE right?

I'd like to think that even "THIS CHARACTER LOOKS OP BASED ON NOTHING BUT A PROMOTIONAL TRAILER NERF NERF" crowd are at least wise enough to not go nuts off text descriptions.

Gameplay wise Kum is not explained well. Is he/she/it/The Kum designed for beginners or is supposed to be technical in use? However we are willing to take Elphelt off your hands if you're willing to take Valk off ours. Please. I'm tired of having to guess at least you guys have blitz shield!

I love it.
I think Leo is pretty close in that regard. On the surface he's the most generic edgelord in the world, but personality wise he is the goofiest son of a bitch.

24 minutes ago, AchedSphinx said:I'm glad she didn't go that route. If her name translates to death and whatnot, her having the ability to summon zombies and stuff sounds like a stereotype. It'd be basically like saying "Let's watch Death summon things so we know she's Death and not someone else." Gotta spice things up from time to time.
I don't consider flooding the screen with projectiles "fresh" compared to raising the dead but whatever works for you works for you. If she wants to fly around the screen and pew pew I'll just have to smack her out the air with 4D and work from there.

1 hour ago, Antaiseito said:Nah, plz don't, there's already enough generic booby ladies (not that Elphelt is better in that regard..) >.<
Yeah, over the top blood and gore is so "manly" and Johnny Cage is a really serious character... omg.. >.<
.. sry, had to ..
Yo, Johnny Cage has a special where he hits you in the nuts. I don't know if you've ever been hit in the nuts before, but that shit SERIOUSLY hurts lol.
Also @Clamper please do send Elphelt to Blazblue, let's see how much she likes that shotgun bullshit when we can just GCOD and wreck her shit with a counterhit combo :3
-
Jin with a swag new sword, maybe Trinity turned into the blade like some Devil May Cry shit.
-
While in this stance, the Imperator can fire projectiles at the opponent with directional inputs and the D button, and gains several new moves and abilities at the cost of not being able to block.
ZONER VALK CONFIRMED.
Actually in all seriousness I think I get what they're going for here. Since she flies it seems like they want her to be really good at covering space (in this stance anyway) but because she can move all over the screen and throw shit out all it will take is one smart read to stop her. I guess we'll see soon enough.

I wouldn't use Ishiwatari's old X2 art as a reference because EVERYONE looks butch in that, even Bridget.
That's just me though

If Relius was in vanilla CS I would have been playing him there too! Story mode was like the worst torture ever, I wanted Relius so bad but he was just an NPC and was never DLC. Fortunately BB has a ton of great characters that I was able to play in the meantime before I got my real partner for life.

For the record, I never said that you were wrong in any form, the fact that GG's characters ARE just wacky anime stereotypes is why I don't like any of them. I said you were being silly and overreacting when the characters have been this way since the first game in the series. Any idea you had of GG being some serious edgy grimdark series is nothing but fabrication, it's always been goofy and silly. If you think Kliff, Slayer, Leo etc are anything close to "manly badasses" then you haven't seen anything beyond their initial appearance, those dudes are goofy as shit even in their battle animations. If you want a "serious" story/world then you should probably just play MK or KI, they're both good games anyway so they're worth your time regardless.
As for May if anything I think she looks older now, compare her face in X2 to her face in Xrd.
-
I'm really curious of what her stance switch thing is like. Is it like old CP vanilla Nu? Very interesting. This should be exciting, and we don't have to wait long to see her because act 2 is right around the corner.
-
Where the bones at? Where the zombies and ghosts and the shit that makes her the goddess of death? Mori pls

33 minutes ago, Clamper said:AC+R wasn't like this, sure it had some little girls but most characters were either badass or interestingly bizarre.
Now they're flooding us of girls of some generic anime archetypes.
You cannot be serious right now, lol.
Look at this roster homie, look at it. It has more female characters than Revelator's currently does. It also has fucking Bridget, who is as "generic pandering" as you can get, and a chuuni version of Sol (okay, EVEN MORE chuuni) as an edgy time traveller. It has Anji's shirtlessness and Testament's skirt/sports bra combo in all of their fujoshi pandering glory. You are being incredibly silly, and I say this as someone who does not like a single character on the entire Guilty Gear roster. I think you are looking at the old game with rose tinted goggles like those Pokemon dudes do. No hostility here, just pointing out how absurd this complaint is, Guilty Gear has never been anything but anime archetypes, and I have no idea how you got any idea otherwise. The very first game in the series has a cute little pirate loli and her animal friends, and a literal copy of Kenshin Himura except a girl. If that isn't "generic anime archetypes" then I really don't know what is.
As for being interestingly bizarre...it's a girl wearing a suit that looks like an old karate master. Where except Guilty Gear would you ever find a character like that?
10 minutes ago, This Man said:And he/she is going to play as a big old man. You won't see the girl until the match is over!
I think it's a badass design. Looking forward to it!
Love that they're introducing new characters and quality new characters at that. It would be so easy to churn out past characters
*cough SFV cough*
SFV is literally doing the exact same thing as Revelator. It has an equal number of returning veterans (Birdie, Nash, Mika, Karin) and newcomers (Necalli, Rashid, Laura, FANG).

Since she can fly, does this mean she'll be able to barrier her air movement? If so that's going to be pretty awesome. I guess it depends on how fast said movement is.

Can I just say that I'm extremely happy they aren't doing ridiculous balance changes between acts. There's no reason to because the amount of time between them is so short, but you know if they listened to silly people on the internet they would have gutted Nine already lol.
