  1. Casuals tomorrow at my apartment! See the NE thread for the address.
  2. For all those willing to brave the impending storm, the Mindhiv3 (456 Tolland Turnpike Apt. 46B, Willington, CT) welcomes any and all travelers tomorrow with a warm electric space-heater and serious casuals.
  3. Crown, I am coming out of retirement to offer you the chance of a lifetime. If you can beat me first to three in BB:CS, you can win $10 whole dollars! But alas, this opportunity does not come without consequences. Lest I win, I will receive $10 from you!
  4. I feel like this post should have come before you nitpicked her grammar...
  5. I know I would have trouble trying to find an active scene for Blazblue.
  6. It's something that should have been done A LONG TIME AGO (10/4).
  7. May I be removed from BB:CS and added to GG:AC? Mindgam3-CT, MB:AA and GG:AC Thanks!
  8. There's Project Failure on the 19th (http://shoryuken.com/f7/ct-nov-19th-project-failure-presents-friday-night-blackout-256404/).
  9. Just make sure to do the dishes when you're done~ Anyway, the date in the thread title will be changed shortly. Now I'll at least get to play after I'm done driving everyone. I'm going to hit you up for some oil-change money, I'm 1,000 miles overdue.
  10. While the tournament scheduling ran a little late, the turnout for every game and the level of competition more than made up for it. It also didn't help that I officially lost to May this tournament, but I have new insights into May's profoundly simple tactics, and my counters to them. Shoutouts are in no particular order. MGV: Thanks for beating me up like a scrub. We should play more! Tinshi: Thanks for waiting for so long while I was taking care of business with Rokunaya, and driving home the point that your HS button is better than mine. A3: Too bad we didn't get to play because of Ril's asian mix-up character, but it was nice talking to you again. If I have improved, I shudder to think what I was like before :8/: Stickbug: I'm definitely going to NEC, but I'll stay sad until that time. Sesshryu: Always a pleasure talking with you. Keep with HOS, he’s a fun character. DaiAndOh: I know you’re a pissed off TO, but don’t disqualify my teammate. Thanks for running everything smoothly and efficiently, and I hope to play games with you in the future! Ril: Thanks for teaming with me in Melty Blood and playing GG casuals. I feel like I’m getting a handle on the Millia vs. Slayer match-up. NerdJosh: Call me or tell Brian to call me or something next time you're in CT, so you can teach us how to beat the people at Project Failure KarlKablisk: I hope your business is doing well, and I look forward to seeing you again. Mynus: I’ll watch out for Hisui next time around. Your I-No is too good. XAQshinor: I know you were a bit rusty in MB, but good game nonetheless. I wanted to play you in GG too, but I didn’t get the chance. Marlin: We’re all going in. Thanks for the Slayer advice, that variation does stupid damage for little to no effort. DoomieJ: Thanks for the Twix, keep practicing GG and I will too. Steve H: Thanks for the few matches that we played. You ARE Ky Kiske! Matt Coma: Your Millia is hype, your C-Satsuki is hype, you’re just too hype. I’ll see you at NEC (which will be hype). Mahouko: You’re the best Bridget I’ve ever seen in person. I wish dressing like Slayer would make me that good. Keep practicing, and I’ll see you at the next biweekly. To all those I missed, you know that I know that I appreciate all the help/support/social interactions. New England wants to level up, so we'll be seeing you all a lot more in the future!
  11. We have a grand total of 5 people including myself going in the Mindmobil3, with a team for every game. The overall turnout for this tournament is looking unreal.
  12. Slayer's already an tournament-legal EX character. You just need to unlock your inner swagger. Also, dare I ask, what (if any) is the parking situation like around the venue?
  13. I'll be hosting casuals this coming Saturday at my apartment. If people are going to BG and want to stay over Friday into Saturday (considering I am fairly close), that's perfectly acceptable. PM me for the address if you don't already know where it is.
  14. ,,fcks EDIT: I'll be hosting casuals this coming Saturday at my apartment. If people are going to BG and want to stay over Friday into Saturday (considering I am fairly close), that's perfectly acceptable. PM me for the address if you don't already know where it is.
  15. You should practice the combo to hone your execution, for what Blazblue's worth anyway.
  16. Team NE for GG, let's go. I also forgot that I can supply a GG, MB, and BB setup.
  17. I'll be attending, along with Dr. Onblast, LordPangTong, and Danny Schme. I'll see if other NE players are interested as well, since apparently we just love Blazblue.
  18. Could you please remove me from BB:CS and add me to GG:AC? Thanks!
  19. I just want to say thanks to all those who made it to the second official MindHiv3 casuals. T'was incredibly fun, and I hope everyone else will be able to make it on the 23rd of this month! I play Slayer in AH3 with the Swagger arcana.
  20. I'm going to be in the area this evening, so if you don't mind could I just drop by your house at a time convenient for you? Also, bump for Saturday casuals. PM me for the address if you're new and don't know where my apartment is. I have four TV's and a kitchen with counter space! Also, I want to comment on the topic of removing FRC's and Slashbacks as if they were just ripped out of AC (since we can't compare it to anything else). On removing FRC's, I feel like the biggest way that will impact the game is that they are taking out the once poignant option of making what would otherwise be a high risk move safe at the cost of meter. This is going to make what was once a thoughtful situation turn into a reactionary one, making the character with the best poke that leads to high damage, forcebreak, or overdrive that much more effective against particular characters with high recovery moves. Thus, high meter gain will not help them use their move set as effectively as it is is possible now, making counterpicking a legitimately viable option. On removing Slashbacks, I just simply don't like it. I can't utilize them effectively, but seeing them used to make what would have otherwise been a tried and true blockstring or easily telegraphed poke unsafe and potentially punishable is a grand thing to behold. Of course, you are left in recovery if you whiff, so it's yet again a high risk-low/med/high reward situation (If you slashback j.P, chances are you can't do anything, hence the low/med). The discretion of the player is put into play as he chooses the best situations in which to slashback, and this forces the opponent to not do the same thing over, and over, and over again. Basically, it seems that the way things are going, removing the high risk/high reward situations are what makes these games more accessible, giving everyone a guaranteed anti-air, blockstring, etc. I feel like Capcom might have had a brain and knew that this is what making a game more accessible meant, so they introduced the focus attack to add a greater amount of depth to the mix ups that would otherwise be relatively simple to execute. That was their solution, and I'm looking forward to what ArcSys does provided they do in fact take FRC's and Slashbacks out of the next game. tl;dr, I'm trying to be mature about my game going down the shitter
  21. http://www.finalround.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=213&start=0 Also, casuals at my apartment this Saturday. They will be the first and third Saturday of every month, unless stated otherwise.
  22. I have a series of questions: 1. Is it free play for both games (BB and GG) on Saturday and Sunday? 2. Are GG setups going to be on a CRT? 3. Can we use our own controllers (or at least be provided decent arcade sticks)?
  23. The MindHiv3 specializes in homework parties. As for dinner, Dr. On-Blast definitely called ups beforehand.
  24. So...if anyone would like to play games, I would like to host some casuals at my apartment on Saturday. Come one come all, but PM me beforehand.
