    Arcade Stick vs Controller

    Having made the switch to a arcade stick (AT LAST) I found my largest issue has been stick handling. Button inputs are fine for me, a sharp improvement over using a pad where my thumb handled all of it, but I found my movements with the stick is noticeably slower. I almost want to say its a matter of distance required to travel in order to make one input or the other, the pad's stick range of movement being much tighter than a arcade stick's, err... stick. This messes up my combo timing at times and much worse it increases my reaction time when responding to my opponent's actions.

    At least it isn't like Noel's specials, and she's been weak in almost every installment from the beginning. Most of her specials require you be in drive to use them, and they typically cannot be combo'd out of with the exception of 214A, 22B/C and 236C, 236A/B, which despite not being drive specials, all of which still need a special requirement to either land or use effectively, such as also only being combo fodder. And you figure, both Jubei and Susano'o are brand new. I'd rather new characters start weak and very slowly and steadily work up to being balanced, rather than pulling a Izanami or Nine and being oppressive top tier at launch. (Never forget BBCP launch Kokonoe)

    I view the drive as a whole as a different take on Tao's Drive, albeit a bit less flexible until you enter Lotus state.

    Does anyone have any idea about the details on Noel's 214A changes? Patch notes don't provide much details on that at all so its all pretty vague. Especially interested in the proration buffs, in particular.

    Still, at the very least, we do get an idea what color represents that character's soul. Not a particularly interesting piece of information, but some people might find it interesting to know, like details on someone's blood type or birthday.

    If that were true, then Nu-13 and Hazama need to be under Mu-12 for their roles as bosses in CT and CS.

    No idea where the timer will go, but my bet is the random select will go under Mu-12 Still kinda sucks they are basically confirming we won't get another character tho. Not sure who that would be, but still. Then again, we might be getting a tad bit spoiled when it comes to new characters. You figure, we started out with 12 in Calamity Trigger, then we got 8 in Continuum Shift, 8 in Chrono Phantasma and now we officially got 8 in Central Fiction. If they intended to follow that trend, there is no real reason or obligation to release another character.

    Sort of wish we got actual numerical details about each change. A lot of the changes sound really nice, but probably won't mean much if the changes are really small, so the patch notes as written are particularly vague. That said, Noel's body invul on 4D from 1F and jump cancel-able 6As on block is super welcome.

    Yea, I was just kinda thinking about what direction I would prefer Blazblue to go in if it stepped away from the fighting game genre. Also kinda curious what he means by start fresh. Does he mean starting over from Calamity Trigger? Of course, the world can never know until he announces it, but still, its good discussion material.

    Not a fighting game? I hope not. The only thing I might find Interesting would be a strategy game centered around the wars of Blazblue or a hack and slash game like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. Pound for pound though, I want a fighting game.

    Im mostly curious in how it may have changed than any important techical stuff like top tier picks. I never been one to follow a tier list, prefering to play who i like over who is good, but only to stay in the know about more general things like the general state of balance of the game.

    Personally as a Noel main, I'm excited that she is getting some buffs finally. Bottom tier no more? The changes to her the invul on her 4D will mean she has a true defensive tool at her disposal. 214A proration buffs sound really nice, but is it for both her P1 and P2, and by how much? Fingers crossed for a decent buff to its P2 so my CH 5C, 6C, 4D and Fatal 5D meterless punish combos do a bit over 4k now. My playstyle is a little too heavy focused on baiting and heavy punishing, so the general 1.3k damage nerf on my CH 5C combo hurt quite a bit.

    I don't think Noel needs that in particular. She needs damage, for sure, but not for her entire drive. You'd just force Noel's normals to be more crap and have a greater reliance on her drive. Special attacks or counter hit proration getting a boost sounds better to me.

    A bit confusing to understand, and a touch frustrating that some of the new sprites are missing, such as Noel's new 2D, but overall something I'll be spending serious time studying. Thanks a bunch!

    I like models better than sprites, but I absolutely hate how intro and victory animations are the same no matter what in games like XRD. If I had to pick as it stands, if character models did have different interactions before and after fights like how we have it now in BB with sprites, then I'm down any day of the week. If not, then I'm all for sprites. The biggest difference for me is watching the same animation over and over is just boring. 3D models do special interactions better than sprites with different dynamic viewing angles and crisper looking characters anyway. As long as we don't encounter frame rate drops, I'm 100% for models in the case that I'm not forced to watch the same two animations at the beginning and end of a match.
