My opinions on the change: http://pastebin.com/Z0R893tj I also wanted to add one thing. When you look up to the stars at night, possibly wondering what lies beyond or what we have to explore, and you ask yourself, "Why? Why did they target Adachi's unblockables? He wasn't god tier. Why would you do this Arksys?" Just remember that this update targetted status ailments as a whole. They were deemed as unclear or too silly, so they were curtailed accordingly. Sadly, they may not have balanced Adachi properly to account for taking away such a big part of his kit almost accidentally. We will see in time.

Non SB heat riser gives fear if you have mandala buff. In fact, most of Adachi's mandala effects have fear in them. If Adachi has powerful fatal combos after this update, the rage loss won't hurt as badly.

http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9805-adachi-changes-for-20/ Adachi changes. Sorry about that hope of Adachi remaining the same.

Hasn't he been pulling this kind of shit since the first game? I swore he did it to one of my friends back then. He really sucked back then...then again he isn't honestly amazingly better now. He raged against one of my friends the other day, and then the next day pulled a classic spectrasonic One&DoneTM. Never played him personally and never look forward to any possible encounter with him. Might possibly be the bane of the entire p4au community from what I've seen though. If we all avoided him, maybe he'd just not know what to do with himself and play CoD or something.

Tips when your friend and the Adachi are out of awakening: Maintain a large lead. Keep the enemy Adachi down as much as possible and don't let him apply pressure. This will keep his meter low when he gets to awakening. Awakening: Adachi will automatically get 50 meter (like everyone else does) in awakening. Understanding what Adachi wants is important. Usually, Adachi players strive to go through this list once in awakening: 1) Activate Mandala buff 2) Gain 50 meter (if they don't have it already) for heat riser 3) Heat riser reset From what I've seen, most players don't combo to get the mandala buff, since it doesn't have to hit. Often, they will send out 2C and then activate it in hopes of catching the opponent off guard or keeping the opponent far enough away. Either that, or they catch their opponent with a DP and combo into it. When your friend puts Adachi into awakening, he needs to lock the opponent down. This way he can't send out a wakeup Mandala for a free buff. If the Adachi does a wake up Mandala over himself and not from a distance, run up to him so when it ends he can be punished during the long recovery. When locking Adachi down, be wary that he will probably DP if you charge him, since that'll guarantee a buff. Bait DPs. Expect them to happen if you run up for pressure. They aren't guaranteed, but at the lower levels they are especially likely. If Adachi's meter was kept down since the start of the game, he will have a hard time gaining the meter if you keep pressuring him. If Adachi has Mandala and 50 meter, don't play hastily. That Adachi will be hungry. Generally the better a player is, the less they let hunger for large damage compromise how they play, but keep in mind that Adachi is going to want an engage to do about 6k for 50 meter. Rise has some decent tools for when people start to play in a less safe manner. That disc she has is annoying when someone is playing sloppy. Blocking low is the best option, as his EX gunshot can be combo'd into if you're standing up and get hit by it. His AOA is easy to block and his two overheads have tiny range (Adachi usually opts for jC in air anyways). Also, if Adachi is sending out 2D like mad, break his persona! It's a free loss of cards if you break it with a quick attack. This also prevents him from using 5C after you block 2D. If you break all his cards, his buffs are gone. Adachi also might gold burst, since it gives him meter and restores his cards. If he just runs at you for no reason just block or poke him so he just gets a regular burst. Poke is probably a better option since he could run up and command grab you. I'd say DP, but be wary of baits. Think that covers it.

After using 2C, Mangatsu Izanagi will remain in his end position for a brief period of time. This allows you to cast an additional persona attack that will appear across the screen. Using this with Mangatsu mandala is especially helpful, as it allows you to obtain the mandala buff without landing a confirm. It is also difficult for the enemy to punish you from full screen, whether they block the attack or not. If you are in awakening and have neither the heat riser nor the mandala buff, start by obtaining the mandala buff. If you have enough meter for heat riser afterwards, you can use it in a combo for a free 5D unblockable reset (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6Fjp5nMZt0) - proof. - Use heat riser before awakening if you have a strong life lead and want to keep your opponent pressured and afraid of the next confirm. Utilizing your burst offensively and defensively is key (aside from the offensive and defensive factors a burst is commonly used for). -Offensively: If you plan on keeping your opponent on edge from start to finish, using a gold burst up to twice a round (once out of awakening and once in awakening usually) can give you a large amount of meter to take advantage of Adachi's many great meter requiring tools. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF_lw4HnkKA#t=1612) - used a few times in this video I believe. -Defensively: Though this is a standard use of a burst, it is important to note how helpful it is saving your burst for the main purpose of breaking an opponents combo just as you enter awakening. This can allow you to gain your mandala buff and make a serious comeback on your opponent. (the first video I posted highlights this). That's all I got for now, let me know what you think.

Yeah he meant every combo the opponent does on an Adachi post-DP will do 950 extra damage (from the blue health).

Best summary of my current sentiments.

I'm about to talk about the Adachi BnB. I'll post it for reference: starter>5C(1)>236236B>dash>5B>2C>2AC>5C(during hop)>5B>2B>2C>ender So I'm having some problems with Adachi's BnB, both in actually using it and in part accepting it as the true BnB. It has a few problems as a BnB, seeing as BnBs are usually: 1) Fairly easy to execute 2) Lighter meter usage (<25 meter) This is because you are going to be using a BnB a whole lot. That's Adachi's problem with the current BnB; it doesn't really meet the criteria. It requires 50 meter to even do the combo, and that's without adding an ender. Well, he's meter dependent, so what? That's just the beginning of what's wrong with this BnB. I've watched several Adachi's online, along with struggling to learn the BnB in training. Sometimes, I'll notice an Adachi player failing to do heat riser after 5C(1) because the timing is rather precise. This isn't that big of a deal, but it highlights the overall issue with this BnB: it is very execution specific. Now if you live where there is a big scene, this might not be the biggest deal, but if you're going to play online a lot, this is going to be pretty crippling. Imagine doing heat riser and going in for the 2C>2AC portion of the combo and lagging. You're not going to make it much past that. Hell, even the 5B>2B>2C portion of the combo has no room for error; if you accidentally press 5B twice, get ready to drop your combo. Now I'm not saying "boo hoo why can't I mash I thought this was persona", I'm just saying BnB's normally are more forgiving. This one isn't that forgiving. Additionally, since this BnB requires 50 meter to do, I've seen countless Adachi's move about clueless until they get 50 meter. The only two ways to do the combo without meter are to land a 5D (unsafe to keep spamming), get a CH 2B (unsafe), or get a command grab. Only relying on these 3 things until 50 meter just to get a BnB that almost every character has out of the box just seems a bit stupid to me. Even with Aigis' 25 meter BnB, the meter gets built quickly and her combo is sooooo easy to do. Minazuki also has an amazingly easy 3k meterless BnB, but he's not the best example in terms of "fair". I'm sure this is going to get some comments. Before it does, I just want to point out that: I'm NOT saying Adachi is a bad character I'm NOT saying that it's unfair that characters like Minazuki have advantages in areas that Adachi doesn't Hell, I'm not even saying this BnB is necessarily a bad BnB I'm just saying I think there has got to be something more optimal out there. Ideally, there would be a moderately simple, meterless BnB that would allow players to work more on match up and strategy rather than mastering a very time-specific combo. What do you guys think?

If you get 2AB, you can go into 236ABB>214214D for around 4.5k. Not terrible off 75 meter.
-
Here's a no 2AC 6k combo for people that don't even want to think when trying to get challenge 25: First, apply heat riser and mandala along with fear. Then, 236236D>5B>5C(1)>2C>236ABB>214214D Does 6.1k

I think C and CD are the same speed. CD is the speed of C with the power of D. Basically, unless the opponent was already in the air/jumping, CD is going to hit them.
-
Based off the summer jam 8 results: S+: Rise S: Rise A+: Rise A: S. Yu, Chie B: Rise again C: everyone else I'm joking of course. If you want a real tier list for this game, it's going to be about 6 months thru right after EVO (assuming this game is going to be there and not left for dead when the pro community goes to play GG xrd).

That last combo is amazing, but it is impossible to do the whole thing at once, as it would require 175 meter. It's hard to notice in the video because after the 236C rage/fear reset, Kanji techs and Adachi's meter is put back at 150. The combo did so much damage in excess (Kanji was dead before the 5 hits on Ghastly Wail), I'm sure there is a way to take a super out and make it viable.
