One of Ky's most powerful oki option is to get a knockdown with 2D>236D. After the patch, Split Ciel pushes the opponent far less then it did before allowing you to get the Charged Durandal Call oki anywhere on the screen. After you send the CSE through the grinder, you can: YRC>running empty jump>5K>whatever YRC>running jump>low airdash j.S>j.HS>5K>whatever YRC>running jump>very low j.S>GS>whatever These are just some examples of what I use after getting that knockdown. If you mix up enough patterns, it will force your opponent to guess what you're going to do.

In Guilty Gear, I'd say Ky or Sol would be most like minazuki.

So does 5D>homing dash still wall-stick in the corner or no?

It always works if your point blank when you hit with 5k, but if you think you're going to be too far to connect the 2D at the end, you're going to have to microdash it.

I haven't had problems with it randomly whiffing at all. I do know it will whiff on Millia if you don't have momentum because of her hitbox being smaller after split Ciel then other characters. Also you do need to be point blank for the combo to work on pretty much everyone. It doesn't have anything to do with 5Hs being nerfed.

Your right, her hitbox is smaller when she is hit with the Ciel then other characters. After testing it on her again, You need to be dashing when you hit c.S for the 5Hs to connect (so you have more momentum). If your not dashing and the 5Hs will not connect on Millia you can substitute 5Hs with f.S (only 15 less damage against Millia). If you find out anything else funky let me know.

cS>6k>Split Ciel>5Hs>Sacred Edge now works thanks to less push back on Split Ciel. Big damage in the corner. No need to micro-dash to connect the 5Hs anymore.

Doing a ground HSVT as the ender wont allow them to tech in the air at all. It should give you time to run up and do 6H oki, and sometimes you can use CSE when you land and it will hit them right on wake up. Sometimes it doesn't reach them in time so they can just jump away. It might be Character specific or it might depend on how high they were when you VT'ed them.

For these Anti-Airs your better off ending them on a ground HSVT instead of taking them into the air unless its going to kill. You'll maintain a knockdown and be able to run your oki right after. If your close enough to the corner you could do a Vapor Thrust loop that will lead to more damage and a knock down into oki. Example: Anywhere 6p>cS>2H>623H>oki (106 dmg v sol) Near Corner 6p>cS>2H>623H>Vapor Thrust loop

Ah your right. I was looking at the response time of the monitor (1 ms), not the input lag. It did confuse me when I checked it on Display Lag and saw 10 ms. Thanks.

Yeah that is very true. I think I'll take the plunge and buy the ASUS VS278Q-P (1 ms of lag?). If it turns out the speakers are whatever, I'll go buy some better ones. Thanks for the Insight.

I'm really glad that this thread exists. I've been looking into making the switch from big ol' HDTV, to a (nearly) lag free monitor. After reading through your posts, I went and looked into the ASUS MX279H, and the ASUS VS278Q-P. If I understand correctly they both come with built in speakers. One question I have is, how is the quality of the speakers/sound in ASUS monitors compared to a standard HDTV? I'd like to use it for other things not related to FGs.

#2 easiest way to get the soundtrack for the two BB games before BBCP is first, to go on steam and buy BBCT. BBCT on steam is only $9 USD (I think) and comes with the entire BBCT soundtrack (42 songs). Secondly BBCS used the same songs but added new ones (17 songs). These came with the limited edition of BBCSE, you can probably find it elsewhere (I got mine on ebay). Good luck!

One thing I noticed was you don't IAD much. Every time you jump then air dash forwards, it is extremely easy read and AA you. I noticed that the Zato you were playing against realized that and was trying to AA you every time you jumped because he knew you were going to air dash forwards.
