  1. It may be a PS3 problem; I've been having the same issue.

GGs to everyone I've played lately! I've fought some strong players, some REALLY strong players, some not-so-strong players, some gimmicky players -- but it's all good. Also, to anyone who happens to be going to Evo: good luck.
  3. So what? That's always been Millia's weakness. It doesn't stop her from being one of the strongest characters in the game. And he ended combos with knockdown into eat; that's not particularly bold.
  4. Sin sacrifices food meter for specials, and if he runs out, he's in trouble. Once Jack-O gets set up, she's very hard to deal with. It depends on what you want out of your play style; both Sin and Jack-O are proven tournament characters. I don't know much about Raven yet, but Kazunoko's performance with him looks promising. And one video doesn't really prove much. I can't think of an iteration of Guilty Gear where Dogura blowing up GO1 is shocking -- Dogura is one of the best GG players since Accent Core, and GO1 is not a top Guilty Gear player (although he is amazing at other games). So, I don't really think using Dogura, who was dominating GG tournaments before he was using Sin, is a good way to prove that Sin is ridiculous.
  5. The balance in Revelator is pretty good, imho. Just because a few Japanese players have been playing Johnny and Sin doesn't mean those characters are busted.
  6. Xrd's input buffer is for normals as well as specials, unless I'm greatly mistaken (and I'm pretty sure I'm not). There might be a few situations where the normal input buffer does not apply; I don't recall the details.

The standard dustloop doesn't work very well on lightweights deep in the corner. Instead you can do a two-rep dustloop into dash j.D xx Kudakero, like so: 6P > 5H > j.D - j.D |> j.D - j.D |> dash > j.D > Kudakero (2) - 6P > 6H > GF Feint/Delayed GF, or variants thereof. Just make sure you're not too deep or the second hit of Kudakero will whiff. Or you can do a two-rep dustloop into VV finisher. That said, you can get Fafnir to work more consistently if you're further out, and then you can go for the standard route. The standard route also works off of (corner) Wild Throw > dash under > 5H etc., but you have to catch May really low to the ground with 5H. I personally find the two-rep dustloop a lot more consistent.

I think they're more concerned about Jam's #Reload version than her +R version. Just look for "teresa goldenrody" on YouTube and you'll find some vids.

GGs to west coast lobbies. It's been fun, but I've been dropping so much stuff lately that I think half of what I do just ends up looking like random flailing.

Yes, as far as I am aware the arcade version and the PS3 version have the same balance. As for the tier list... where was that thread? Anyway, off the top of my head: Top: Zappa, Millia, Chipp, Dizzy, Faust Mid: Everyone not listed Low: Sol, Venom, Robo-Ky, Bridget. Or something like that. The game's pretty well balanced, though, so "low tier" is still good enough to win.

GGs West Coast lobby. I've been really impressed by some of the players I've run into lately. Good stuff!

    Uh, BnBs? Off the top of my head, some really basic ones are: 5AA > 5B > 2B > 2AB > 214A [All out Attack] 5AB > mash > C > 8 > j.BB > j.C > jc > j.BB > j.C > 236C [50 meter] 5AA > 5B > 2B > 2AB > 236236A > 66 > 5C > 236B > 236B > 236D [Corner] 5B > 2B > 236A > 236A > 5B > 5C > hop cancel > j.2B > 236B > 236B > 2AB [Corner + 50 Meter] 5B > 2B > 236A > 236A > 5B > 5C > hop cancel > j.2B > 236B > 236B > 214B > 214D > 236236D [Corner + 100 Meter + Awakening] 5B > 2B > 236A > 236A > 5B > 5C > hop cancel > j.2B > 236B > 236B > 236D > 214214C > 236236D [Air] j.C > j.BB > 8D [Air] j.BB > j.C > j.BB > j.C > 236C/D. There's obviously way more, and there are variants on these, but hopefully this should give you enough to get started.
  15. No qualifiers? Samitto qualified by winning Godsgarden, the US team qualified by winning the 3v3 at Evo, and I thought Ogawa qualified by winning Evo. How did the rest of the teams get in?
  16. Yeah, they lost to Ogawa's team. Still an impressive showing, though. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another US team that even made it past the first round in either ArcRevo or Tougeki for an ArcSys game.
  17. Character counts: Axl: 7 Bedman: 11 Chipp: 7 Elphelt: 16 Faust: 13 I-No: 12 Ky: 7 Leo: 8 May: 7 Millia: 14 Potemkin: 6 Ramlethal: 10 Sin: 13 Slayer: 12 Sol: 12 Venom: 10 Zato: 12 59 teams, so there are 177 players. That seems like a hell of a lot... I wonder how long the tournament will take.
  18. Looks like these are the players who will be at Arc Revo: http://www.arcsystemworks.jp/arc-revo2015/images/lower/pdf/uni.pdf Has anyone translated this yet?

GGs to everyone I played. I wanted to get bodied by a few of you some more, but oh well, maybe some other time. I finally lost my fraudulent red card that I've had for a while. It's about time.

It works on everyone given the right setup. Usually you just need to make sure your opponent is high enough in the air and you're close enough for the VV to connect. A few characters will have the 6H whiff if you're too close (Zato and Venom, I think). For example, whatever into Fafnir > dash > c.S > 6P > 6H > HVV > Kick works on everyone, but the dash spacing can mess things up.

GGs to the people I've played lately.

  24. Melee can be pretty aggressive. But this doesn't have anything to do with Guilty Gear. I'm happy with the numbers -- 1000 players is going to be, by far, the biggest tournament I've ever entered.
