I start of well against our local OS most of the time, especially if I come off from playing our ABA, but for some reason I just lose momentum the longer I play him.

Looks like the link is broken to me, but it's easy to find that combo vid on youtube. You could always rip the video from youtube, though the quality will suffer. Get Wild and Waltz of the Moon are up there at least.

That's one way of dealing with Aba, using their fear of getting knocked down to do tick throws, but simple mistakes cost you matches against them =/ Ruki's been a lot more impressive lately, a lot of his earlier vids I saw him less solid in his oki and usually totally loss on the defense.

    AC: Strategy Guide

    1. In guarding her front... Dizzy is terrible on neutral in my opinion, or in any defensive position. You can use 5K because the range is decent on that, but 5HS is also liable to get you punished if they rush in with moves like Order Sol's Rock It or several of Slayer's moveset. You can attempt to IAD away, and utilize her two air dashes to put some distance. Like Grey said, if you have the fish out with you, you have a bit more defense in your rushdown but multihit moves like Axl's normals will screw you over. 2. In guarding her head... If they are still far away, her air spear has it's uses (421S) and 2S has limited AA capabilities, but they're all risky and punishable. Again, defensively she's terrible so if you're under up close pressure just block and wait for a more obvious opening. 3. On defense... Reversal Coffin Tension works at times, but don't rely too much on it. Like everyone else, she also has DAA, which is two buttons and 6 while gaurding (i.e. 6PK while in blockstun) and if it counterhits it's a guaranteed knockdown iirc. Nothing that anyone else doesn't have, so your defensive options are limited. 4. On offense... Knock them down. Summon fish. Begin oki. Hope for another knockdown, repeat. Check out the Dizzy guide on how to utilize the fish better, and which combo strings to use, the basics aren't hard. A key combo would be her IAD string into ice spike. IAD, 2S, HS, c.S f.S HS Icespike is a basic combo. You can get fancy and skip the f.S, or go into 2HS after HS, or do subtle variations of it, but they're all distance dependant. You'll get a feel for it after awhile. 5. What is Dizzy's most efficient range (close/mid/far)? I'd say, mid to far range depending on the other character. Your IAD 2S isn't as effective from across the screen, as it's easily telegraphed and can be punished, but at mid range it's very effective when people attempt to punish and their move comes out too slow. Doesn't apply to people with shoryukens however. 6. Which characters deserve special mention with match-ups in mind (who has to be handled especially differently)? Potemkin, never let him corner you ever. Watch out for his aerial super grab, and remember that his hammerfall only has super armour for one hit, so f.S and fish are your friends. It's an easy match if you get far enough away to set up, and then rush in. Beware his slide head, and remember you can dash over it since she counts as 'off the ground' when rushing in. Venom, don't even try to IAD him, his 6P is too good. Anyone with an uppercut, especially multi hit (aka Sol), be careful in your oki as he can punch through the fish and still hit you.

That one win was against Satou who's a pretty good Johnny, iirc. Mugen also OCV'd the rest of Kazuki's team, and they stomped the two other teams with Dizzys on them. Dizzy has quite a few ups and downs in matchups imo, but in a team setting she'd cover for other player's weaknesses. For example, Kazuki covers Inoue and Kawin's lack of range, Inoue covers the rushdown aspect, and Kawin punishes the rushdown type characters. I'm really not surprised the Dizzy's got knocked out early though, there were several with Dizzy's that were too unsafe in their playstyle or just not that good. Ruki's team surprised me, I expected him to be enough of a dead weight for them to lose in the first round, not in third.

Yep I knew that, which is why I'm specifically said that imperial ray can be beaten with any meaty, not just a delayed or safe meaty. Necro generally beats most things, especially IAD rushdowns, but yeah it's pretty flawed compared to other, safer options that other characters have.

You're only invincible on the startup of Necro's tension, for a few frames, and not at all with Imperial Ray. I found this out the hard way against many many things. Any meaty will beat out Imperial ray if it's hitbox is touching you already.

Only watched the jam match so far, so I'll drop some comments on it now. Jam is one of the floaty ones, so ice spike isn't always guaranteed knockdown if you catch her too high up. Keep that in mind because she can recover when other people normally wouldn't, so be careful with throw followups, or summoning after ice spike. Nice use of scythe to tick throw When you get that AD j.2S out, don't forget to do j.HS as well, even if they block it normally it'll leave you with enough distance and block stun to safely land (unless they instant block or something), and on hit it'll let you follow up with land, c.S, HS, Ice Spike. Lastly, oki still need some work I think, instead of rushing in for the combo right away after HP or HK fish, rush in either 2k or IAD j2S, wait a sec for the laser to hit, then continue your combo. Dangerous against anyone with a good wakeup, but it'll have it's uses still. Try this out after knockdown in corner. HK fish, dash in 2k, laser,2k, cs, bite, d, dust combo

Agreed, anyone that can catch Dizzy usually ends up with a dead Dizzy on the floor

Woo, another Dizzy player that's agressive as hell, though it got you smacked up pretty good when you got a bit reckless it was still solid playing on your part After playing Teyah, I learned how rough it was for Dizzy to charge in safely, and in the first few matches you baited his Eddie Uppercut really well with those empty airdashes. But he either had a lot of experience playing you or similar Dizzys since he blocked your oki pretty well, and once he got past your zoning and your oki it was Only thing I was gonna suggest was to use j.D when Eddie takes to the skies to bide time or get over you but I saw you start using it at the end too. And that one missed bubble loop but heat of the battle and all, I can see why it didn't come out.

After watching some of woki's vids, I stole the 2P 2P 2K 2D hit confirm combo from him, since 2P 2P 2D didn't link for me ^^ If my group wasn't so lazy we'd get more recorded matches in, but currently it's the last two weeks of classes for us, and finals are the week after. I really need to record more of those ABA matchups because for some reason I perform a lot better against him then people I play more often, yet he can beat nearly all of those peopl consistently whereas I'm losing most the time.

    AC: General Discussion

I wish I had a PS3, I'll be bumming off my friend =( But yeah, I'm thinking of either Rachel or Nu because they're pretty much EX versions of Dizzy.
