    [Xrd] Sol Badguy Combo Thread

Hey guys. What's a good 5D Homing Dash combo? I just got Revelator and I guess homing dash works differently now.

Need a bunch of clarification... You meant the bold part to be the other way around, right? Or is there some way to go from far slash to close? Also, many of the combos you wrote have a "5S" in them somewhere. To clarify, do you mean c.S or f.S? ~Z

    A.B.A AC Combo Thread

Moroha: Thanks for your help! d(^^)b Are there situations where one of these is more valuable than the other, or is it a matter of preference? Is it, by chance, a matter of "the first string is impossible vs. Character X, so you must do the second string"? (I'm assuming you mean "run on ground and jump as quickly as you can", right?) I'm wondering what effect a dashing jump slash (669) has that a standing jump slash (9) doesn't? So far, it seems like it has no effect and just gives the opponent more time to tech while I spend time inputting the extra 66 motion. Once again, thanks for your help, and I hope I'm not troubling you too much. ~Z

    A.B.A AC Combo Thread

Hi, I'm new to ABA and I'm having loads of trouble with the first combo (trouble points in bold)... All too often, in training mode, when I try the bolded j.S, the training dummy (Ky) techs early and my attack just whiffs. That's if the j.S comes out at all; sometimes I'll just end up jumping and doing nothing like an idiot. Now, on those times when I actually land the j.S (probably once every ten minutes, heh) and the follow-up aerial combo, by the time I land, the training dummy is too high off the ground and techs before it gets within range for a keystab (the most important part!). I land this combo once every hour (no joke!) and show no sign of improving at it. Any help on those bolded moves would be greatly appreciated. Also, can I do some random starting sequence into this combo (eg. 5K f.S 2HS > IAD blah blah blah > double keystab), or will it not work? ~Z

Sorry for being so noob, but... what does the bold part mean? ~Z

nOOb Question: Here's the Sidewinder loop I'm using: WT j.S SW j.S SW j.S SW... (a bit noob, but I find it works better for me than the WT dash.2H, etc. starter) ... but I have trouble in a particular situation. My opponent and I are near the corner (say 1/3 stage length), I Wild Throw to start a SW loop, the first SW hits, my opponent bounces off the wall... and ends up BEHIND ME! (T_T) That wouldn't be so bad, except that just about every one of my attempts at a follow-up is carried out with me FACING THE WRONG DIRECTION! (T_T) I've seen videos of Sol players dealing with that situation by using 2H > etc., and they somehow manage to "about-face" before it comes out (ie. if this is happening in the left corner, they manage to face to the right). Is there something I'm missing here? If I'm crouching, does that lock my direction in place? Should I try a different followup (maybe bj.S > SW)? ~Z

[Accent Core] Sol Badguy General Discussion

Yeah, my third mix-up "plan" (random BB) was a bit of a joke, but it has actually worked for me quite a few times. As long as I don't spam it, my opponents often become Deer In The Headlights upon seeing that "useless" BB come out of nowhere... "Hmm, BB, eh? Haven't seen anyone use that in ages. Let's see here... oh yeah, I remember! I gotta block that high, aww crap, too late!" Anyway, I only mentioned that one to show how incredibly weak my mix-up game is at the moment and how I desperately need help with it. ~Z

I apologize if this has already been discussed; it's a huge thread. What are some of Sol's mix-ups? The Sol 101 thread simply says "Pros: Has good mix-ups", yet doesn't list a single example. So far, here are the ones I use (and I bet they suck): 1) 2K -> 5D or 2D 2) Run in (possibly with GF FRC cover) -> VV or WT or Oh-Shit-FD-Brake! or (see #1) 3) Bandit Bringer -> Hope to God they forget to block it high. :D Umm... yeah... ~Z

Re: Air Bandit Revolver FRC I'm still a novice player, but I find that using negative edge helps me pull off the FRC... (while holding K) j.BR ]K[, then K+S+H as fast as I can. (I apologize for the crude notation) That way, my hand only has to move twice over the buttons (release, then press) as opposed to three times (press, release, then press). Hope this helps! ~Z
