FFA BB & MB Bi-Weeklies - (Granada Hills, CA)

Not as good as the BlazBlue sticks, but they're definitely playable. I haven't checked the buttons recently, so if a button doesn't work let me know. I haven't gotten any complaints about it, though, so it probably works fine. The player 1 panel shakes a little bit when you play, which isn't as big of a deal as it sounds, but if you put a quarter in, make sure the panel is pushed in normally or else it might not read the quarter. And if you don't like the sticks, you can always plug in your own if it's wired up correctly.

thought you were EC. Idk, there's a bunch of reasons why we've been doing the tournaments on Sundays That way we can keep Saturdays open, there would be less people in the arcade so it won't be as crowded, We used to run tournaments awhile back on Saturdays (bi-weekly SF4 and/or MvC2). And we've just been keeping Sundays. If I change it to Saturdays, some people who have Sundays off and not Saturdays wouldn't be able to show up anymore.

We're all looking forward to bi-weekly CS tournaments when we get that, too. Even more reason for the other half of the US to be jealous P.S. There's two halves of the US: California, and Not California.

Saw Seung at FFA yesterday, mayhaps he'll be stopping by for the tournament ^_^ I'm guessing he left for the mountains of Japan to train in the woods and become a BlazBlue master.

Kemi's incredibly good at TSS, but she plays other games too. I don't think she plays BlazBlue, but she's at least really good at 3S. Tom, her bf, might be coming by too.

I've just been informed by Kemi (the best TSS player in Cali [uS?]) that she will be coming to beat me and take 1st place ^_^. She will also be bringing in her Neo Geo board of TSS, so we'll be playing on a dedicated cabinet for it. Just an fyi, the Neo Geo version lags a lot and has some lag glitches, and is also the version we should be using in tournaments. The MAME version in the arcade has much less lag because its board has better computing power. For almost every player, though, this won't be a big difference.

Just put in T6 in the console cabinet btw. P.S. GGs Mike. I learned a lot.

There's already way too many games to add T6 to these bi-weeklies. Maybe some other day of the week?
  9. no teams on 11/8.

Memory's charge shot sucks because it kills everything on the screen. How can you expect to plan stuff ahead if you just kill everything with no combos? Mevious is probably the best of the 4 bosses, he's definitely more aggressive than Nonja Monja or Mackey and Pentell. And yeah, T&L have the best charge in the game. 8-way shooting is crazy good.

I just talked to someone about TSS, and they didn't realize that all boss characters are tournament legal. Highlight Griffon and nudge the joystick down 4 times. Play as Dark Ran Highlight Ran and nudge the joystick down 4 times. Play as Memory Highlight Griffon and nudge the joystick up 4 times. Play as Mevious Highlight Ran and nudge the joystick up 4 times. Play as Sprites Just press up or down 4 times on those characters and then select that character to get the secret character. Tinker & Linker is still top tier.

Those who are out of the loop: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is in the 1000 in 1 game. Bang loooooves Jojo's, but there's a small problem. Jojo's is set at 50 cents and I wasn't able to go into its options to change it! I'll see what I can do. Ralph says he doesn't have JoJos, so I can't put in the CPS3 board. I also tried plugging a keyboard straight into the PC board of that 1000 in 1, and I still couldn't activate the menu to change it. It looks like you're SOL and have to pay 50c to play it P.S. I'll be down tonight for some games (around 10PM). idk about Tuesday, though, chances are I will, but I might not.
  15. Well, it's possible we'll get CS with enough of time to practice and instead of this being the last major for CT, it could be the first major for CS. We shall see, things are looking good behind the curtain, but I'm not going to guarantee anything.

Our GG machine has PS2 ports that you can plug your PS2 controller into. I pressed hard to get those going when I started working here because I knew about the GG console crowd. The button layout is X = Kick, Square = Punch, Triangle = Slash, O = HSlash, R1 = Dust. P.S. GGs, I need to start practicing again.

It's been short while, but you definitely deserve it. Congrats to Blue Garbage for getting 2nd place. You lost to Bang but then got him back in loser's finals. Bang, wow, you must have been practicing a lot, you've gotten a lot better. I didn't stand a chance. I found your umlaut n (n̈), I say it's a fine addition to your name, Ban̈g. I also had to do some fishing for alt-codes for DïnnërPlätë. For some cool uses in umlauts check out this wikipedia article!! ZONG_one, good match, you had me the whole time. Hopefully I'll have some time to practice soon. GG Results: 1st Place: Jason D. [Axl] (GFinals: Set 1 2/3; Set 2 3/1) 2nd: Shin ATProof [baiken] (Lost to Jason D 0/2, lost in GFinals) 3rd: BADX [sol/Ky] (Lost to Soniti 0/2, lost to Shin 0/2) 4th: Soniti [Testament/Jam/May/Dizzy] (Lost to Sonic 1/2 lost to BADX 0/2) 6th: Mel ^_^ [Anji] (Lost to Shin 0/2, lost to Soniti 1/2) 6th: Sonic [Eddie] (Lost to Jason 0/2, lost to BADX 0/2) 8th: Almighty Gnat [Zappa] (Lost to Jason 0/2, lost to Soniti 0/2) 8th: ZONG_one [A.B.A] (Lost to Jason 0/2, lost to BADX 0/2) 12th: Lord Crimson [slayer] (Lost to Shin 0/2, lost to Soniti 1/2) 12th: Ehx Axis [Millia] (Lost to Oni 0/2, lost to AGnat 0/2) 12th: Oni [Chipp] (Lost to Mel 0/2, lost to ZONG1 0/2) 12th: Hey Nerd! Some very great matches all around, everybody was really good. Thanks a lot to Almighty Gnat for running the tournament for me! The Final Boss was Mike Z. He went up against Jason D. in casuals after the tournament and "Destroyed" him. The whole crowd ooh'd and aah'd. Pretty cool. Last and most importantly! Twinkle Star Sprites Results: 1st Place: Id [Nonja Monja] (GFinals Set 1 2/1) 2nd: Lollipop Lobster [Nonja Monja] (Lost to Gayane, lost to Id in GFinals) 3rd: Gayane [Tinker & Linker] (Lost to Id 0/2, lost to LoliL 0/2) 4th: Oni [Tinker & Linker] (Lost to Id 0/2, lost to LolliL 1/2) 6th: Sonic_THP [Really Till] (Lost to Id 1/2, lost to LolliL 1/2) 6th: Bad Example [Kim] (Lost to Gayane 0/2, lost to Oni 0/2) 8th: AGnat [Tinker & Linker] (Lost to BadX 0/2, lost to LolliL 1/2) 8th: Ike Takeda [Arthur Schmitt] (Lost to Sonic, lost to Oni 1/2) 12th: ehx axis [Really Till] (Lost to Sonic, lost to AGnat 0/2) 12th: Ban̈g Camaro [Arthur Schmitt] (Lost to AGnat, lost to Ike T. 0/2) 12th: Mel ^_^ [Kim] (Lost to LolliL, lost to Oni) 12th: Lord Crimson [Really Till] (Lost to BadX, lost to Ban̈g) Great matches everyone. I had some close calls there. Sonic, you're really good, I'd love to get some casuals in with you in the future. Really Till has a trick with her specials that you caught me in. Two different dragons went close on both sides of me, and then they sandwiched me without a chance to escape. GGs, and thanks a lot for running the tournament! Lollipop Lobster, great matches; I had to really concentrate in Grand Finals. Keep up the practice and I'll start picking up, too. I didn't see everyone play, but it was a lot of fun, we've got to do TSS again next time. We canceled Melty Blood because of the lack of entrants. I didn't promote the tournament on Meltybread.com, and there was CUT, so there was only one person who came for just MB. I did however have a lot of fun during MB casuals. I'll see you all again on 11/8!

GGs Blue Garbage. I just can't get over Arakune. EDIT: Made use of the new Tournament Results section. Check it out here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?p=486565#post486565 I'll try focusing on the tournaments more, I'm really really busy with way too much right now. I should be able to focus much more after Wednesday. You probably don't want to hear my problems, but I've essentially got back-to-back exams at school, and all sorts of stuff. I'm going to post flier pics in the first post and some other stuff too. Good luck to all my repping FFA members at CUT! I'll see you Sunday for the tourney!
