Godamn! Finally you're coming. It's been too long since you've entered a BB tournament.

Great matches today, Soniti. @Onichi: Idk, I was playing some TSS casuals today (Frinday night) at the arcade. I'd like more tournaments, but I'm already beat running 2 tournaments on my own. I don't see a TSS tournament happening until the big AC2 tournament.

Shiki Tohno (wears glasses) Shiki Nanaya (looks just like Shiki Tohno, but doesn't wear glasses and has an evil smile) Shiki Ryougi (new character in MBAA console, she's a girl wearing a kimono and a jacket) All three characters have the Eyes of Death Perception, and can see lines in people and objects where if you ran an object, even a dull plastic knife, through them it will cut right through. Shiki Tohno and Nanaya are actually the same person. Nanaya is a 'what if' version of Shiki if he hadn't been adopted and was raised by the Nanaya family, which were his original parents. The leader of the Tohno family (which was a family with demon blood) killed the Nanaya family (which was a hunter family) and adopted Shiki. Shiki's glasses prevent him from seeing the lines all the time, and they were given to him by Aoko. Nanaya doesn't have the glasses and was trained to use the lines to kill. I think Nanaya is ranked higher than Tohno on the tier listing for MBAC, but things might have changed with the different moon styles of MBAA, So I'd check out all the versions.

GGs in GGΛC AGnat. I'm actually looking forward to the GGΛC tournament now! Zappa would be no big deal if I didn't have to worry about Raoh. Once he's out I'm as good as dead >.<

if you go to meltybread.com (and log in), there's a link somewhere around there in the Sacchin Toast group of threads to a megaupload of the MBAA soundtrack. Who are you playing as? P.S. great matches tonight with everybody. I demo'd my F-Kohaku for everyone in MBAA, played some great matches with Jam against AGnat in GG, and got a ton of good matches in for BB. I'm looking forward to Sunday!

chances are it will be bigger than last one. We had 28 people last tournament, and if we have a bit more we'll need a second PS3 station.

Heh, yeah I've been playing Carl since Day 1 of arcade release. I knew a lot more Carl players back then, but they all either quit or switched characters. Playing Carl back then was very painful... We didn't have a DVD instructional video, lol. Hopefully I'll see you at the tournament. EDIT: I've watched some of those old videos with me in it and it's embarrassing, lol. I've gotten a lot better as you'll see when my video of the 3rd to last tournament comes up. AGnat is working on uploading that tournament onto youtube; I had a really good match with Bang Camaro. I've gotten better since then, but that'll probably be the best you'll see me on youtube for awhile.

I focus more on simultaneous button pressing combos rather than loops. I'll loop if the occasion is right, but I rarely try and force it. So for example, I'll 2B, 4123C6D (This makes me slide while the doll drill arms at the same time), then jump cancel into 2C, which puts them into position for the drill arm, things like that. I expect the doll to die once every round, and act accordingly. But you'll see what I mean if you see me play; like I said I don't focus on loops, and that's unconventional. EDIT: I'm not saying one method is necessarily better than another, but my playstyle works for me.

I love playing Carl v Carl. I'm a very unconventional Carl player though (as maybe you'll see).

The next tournament is 9/27. The one after that will be 10/11 (that's where the typo came in). Fixed it.

I've been getting some questions about Air-dasher's Chronicles 2, so let me go over all the info. Games that made the cut: BlazBlue Teams & Singles Melty Blood Actress Again Teams & Singles Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Arcana Heart FULL Hokuto no Ken (aka Fist of the North Star) Eternal Fighter ZERO Fate/Unlimited Codes Twinkle Star Sprites Games that didn't make the cut (and why): Marvel vs Capcom 2 (I really don't feel like opening that can of worms) Immaterial and Missing Power/Scarlet Weather Rhapsody (both not popular enough) Big Bang Beat (Not popular enough either) Sengoku Basara X (yeah, this game sucks, nobody wants to play it) Arcana Heart 2 Sugoi! (maybe if the PS2 version didn't suck so much we'd play this instead of AH1) Daemon Bride (I highly doubt we'll be getting this game before the tournament) Tatsunoko vs Capcom (It doesn't really seem to fit in, and I didn't get enough feedback for it) Vampire Savior (This was an interesting suggestion, VS was about as close as Capcom got to an airdasher [barring Marvel series, TvC and SBX]. If we held this I'd play it, but again not enough positive feedback for it. I think maybe the game is too old?) Phantasmagoria of Flower View (This is a versus shmup of the Touhou Project series. TSS is a classic and is more popular, so we'll do TSS instead) Possibilities for AC3 will include: Daemon Bride Unthinkable Natural Law (New Touhou Project fighting game that came out a month ago) Big Bang Beat (This is actually a pretty cool game, you should check it out) AC2 will take place in ~2-3 months. It will last over the course of two days. It'll play out something along the lines of: Day 1: 3 games, BB & MB Teams Day 2: 3 games, BB & MB Singles Because there will be so many tournaments, I'll need volunteers to help me run simultaneous games. If you have any questions about some of these games (maybe you've never heard of them and want to get into them), feel free to ask. I've played all of them, but haven't gotten into heavy play with a few of them. You have ~2-3 months to practice!

Added some more comments for Melty Blood. Didn't have much time last night, I was kind of beat. " Great matches to everyone! Thanks H-F Blade for showing me some awesome Ciel combos, I'll have to practice them for the next tournament. AGnat, hopefully you can enter the next tournament, you're supposed to show us your awesome Neco-Arc Chaos skills! DAN, I think you just got bad luck going against Xie then Numakie, in actuality you're probably better than I am (though I will admit I'm a bit rusty). Good luck in the next tournament. Sorry for the lack of seeding during this tournament, next time that won't happen. I just seeded Xie because he was winning casuals against everybody and randomized everyone else. Next time Numakie and H-F Blade won't fight each other first match >.< I wasn't expecting this big of a turn-out, to be honest. But the tournament was a blast, I had a lot of fun. I hope to see you guys again in two weeks. I'm really hoping that some of the BlazBlue guys start playing Melty Blood. I've already converted a few to the dark side "

Great matches to everyone I played. I know things got kind of hectic running two stations at once, but I think it turned out pretty well. I wasn't able to get a match count to let you know how well people won this time because I had to watch two stations at once. Congrats on getting 3rd place Blue G., I always knew you'd do well if you entered. Grats Mike Z. It felt like you were the underdog this tournament even though you always win. There's just something so right watching a Tager beat a crazy good Nu player. For the first time in like 5 months we have another Carl player other than me! Sonic took out a bunch of players in the casuals, but lost early in the tournament. The two players he fought against were very used to fighting Carl in casuals, so that's probably what did him in. I hope to see you next tournament Sonic, you're a really good Carl player. Holy cow Shin, when did you get so good with Haku-Men? I used to beat you all the time! Congrats on 6th place. Tronzilla, that was a sick match between us. We must have timed out 3 times. For those of you who missed it, Tron and I were 1/1 on rounds and the time went out. We both had what looked like exactly the same amount of health, and we both held our breaths. Then I did my win pose >.<... Madness! A whole lot of new faces today. Hopefully you guys stop by more during the week for casuals. Melty Blood: 1st: Xie [C-Mech Hisui] 2nd: H-F Blade [c-Ciel/F-Ryougi/H-Riesbyfe] (lost to Xie in Winner's finals 1/2, beat Xie Set 1 2/1, lost Set 2 1/2] 3rd: Numakie [C-Hisui] (lost to H-F Blade 0/2; lost to H-F Blade 0/2) 4th: Id [C-Ciel] (lost to Soniti 0/2; lost to Numekie 0/2) 6th: Wicked Element [C-Miyako] (lost to Xie 0/2; lost to Id 0/2) 6th: Soniti [C-Akiha] (lost to H-F Blade 0/2; lost to Numekie 0/2) 8th: Ketuekigumi [C-Kouma] (lost to H-F Blade 0/2; lost to Id 1/2) 8th: Severin [H-Riesbyfe] (lost to Wicked E. 1/2; lost to Numekie 0/2) 12th: Oni [H-Roa/F-Ciel] (lost to DAN 1/2; lost to Ketue 0/2) 12th: Shin ATProof [C-Warachia/C-Aoko] (lost to Wicked E. 1/2; lost to Id 0/2) 12th: Tronzilla666 [C-Ryougi/C-Ciel] (lost to Id 0/2; lost to Severin 1/2) 12th: DAN [C-Red Arcuied/C-Kouma] (lost to Xie 0/2; lost to Numekie 0/2) Great matches to everyone! I'll be practicing my Jam a bit for next tournament, I'm not horrible, but I'm not half as good as I am in BB or MB.

Schedule for today: 10-1PM: Casuals for all (I'll probably get there with MBAA at 11:45-12ish) 12:30PM: Sign-ups for MB/GG 1PM: MBAA tourney starts 2PM: GG tourney starts 4:30PM: BB Sign-ups 5PM: BB tourney starts MB will be on console only. If you use a pad bring a pad, if you use a stick bring a stick. I'll have some spares for people to use, but don't complain if you don't like mine >.< GG will be on arcade only. Thise means it will be a quarter per match, but will still be on event mode. The GG arcade machine has PS2 ports set for the button config of the default layout of a PS2 pad. BB will be on free play from when I start to make brackets to the about 30 minutes after the tournament is over. If you prefer to play on a PS3, let me know. If you prefer to play on arcade let me know. I'll try and accomodate for everyone as much as possible, but it's impossible to appease everybody. How I plan on working it will be if you are in Loser's Round 1 or Round 2 be prepared to use the PS3, but I'll still have some of you be on the arcade machine. I'll probably put winner's on the arcade while I put loser's on the console, but again if you prefer one over the other let me know so I can try and put you up on it. (I heard in the background the other day somebody talking about how they prefered to play on the pad. Personally I have a problem playing on a joystick in my lap, and I wouldn't have a problem playing on pad if I didn't use Carl >.<)

Great matches everyone! Soniti you're a beast when it comes to BB and MB. I need to work on my shielding in MB. AGnat, good luck maining Neco Arc Chaos >.< (Necro for short [Nero+Neco=Necro]). Cigarette attacks ftw! I managed to learn both C-Arcueid and F-Satsuki today. I'll be working on F-Riesbyfe later. Don't expect me to use anybody other than C-Ciel in the tournament, though. I'll probably be entering GG (It's at 2PM, don't forget!), even though I'll be fodder for the tournament. As for BlazBlue, I plan on doing better than last tournament. I definitely practiced enough to get further this time. As long as the tournament slot selection gods don't frown on me I think I should do as good as the tournament before last. I'll see you guys tomorrow! Bring your sticks if you need them!

Hope to see ya. I'll be at FFA today, for MB & BB matches (mostly MB, I got a ton of BB matches in last night, but if someone's at the BB machine and have no challengers I'll fight you a few times). I'll be leaving kind of soon, I'll probably be there at 1PM, maybe a bit later.

I'll be there Saturday night with MBAA, then. The guy with my PS2 didn't end up showing up until 11:30PM on Friday, so sorry I update you with that. Really great matches to everyone I played in BB and MB! EDIT: AGnat will be holding a GG tournament on Sunday at around 2PM. So if you're up for GG (or maybe a game besides MB), show up early for the GG tournament. You'll still be able to enter both MB and GG if you want to. I'm pretty sure the price will be $3, but it's not set in stone.

Hey, so I know it's no big deal, and you guys probably don't really care, but... WE LOWERED THE STICKS!!!! Regulation height (24-25mm). I'll be here tonight for some casuals. I get off around 8PM, and AGnat told me he'd be here around 8, too. So get some matches in. ALSO, I might have my PS2 set for MBAA casuals tonight too. P.S. 9/19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. So don't forget!

FFA BB & MB Bi-Weeklies - (Granada Hills, CA)

I lent my PS2 to Rex to get it modded. The Mem card mod wouldn't work on my PS2 because it was the launch date model. I think I'll be getting it back tonight, tomorrow or Sunday. I'll fill you in and let you know. If I get it back I'm up for some casuals tonight and tomorrow. @Ike: I play MBAA on a PS2 pad. And you only need to learn one move set. But some character's new move sets might be more appealing to your playstyle. There's essentially close to 50 characters because of the move set changes. Each character has 3 styles, Full Moon, Half (Waning) Moon, and Crescent Moon. Each style has their own game mechanics (F-Moon can charge meter but can't activate heat, H-Moon's meter only goes to 200%, but gets to MAX faster, and so on). The game also isn't as complicated as BlazBlue (even though it's sounding like it is), which can be a good thing. Watch us play during the tournament on Sunday and you might see a character you like.
