Arcana Heart 3 - Out Now, Best Fighter Ever
Id_asz replied to MouseWonder's topic in Misc Fighter Central
My main will still be Lilica. I might stick with Lilica/Gier, but we'll see. I definitely want to pick up Scharlacrot, she looks badass. -
FFA SoCal arcade scene: BB, GG, MB (and other airdashers)
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Offline Community
I'll be at FFA tonight for games, but I haven't been practicing at all. I swear, I just finished an exam and now I have another one next week. -
As much as I dislike SF4, I think Juri (or maybe another SF4 exclusive character like C. Viper or Seth) could be a good addition to MvC3. Just as long as they don't add any other SF characters. The SF series is an easy pool to pick characters from, though. It's their most popular fighting game series, and longest running. That's why you see so many characters from SF in versus games. I think TvC did a good job of only having 3 SF characters, and I wouldn't mind a 3rd one in MvC3 as long as it's not Ken or some other very common SF character.
-
The copy ability from Axl could be interesting in MvC3 if they add him.
-
For the X series, they could add lesser known characters, too. To name a few: Agile (X2) Magma Dragoon (X4) High Max (X6) Alia or Layer (X8)

FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010

Health does carry over between matches (though you gain a little bit back). -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
By default, the format is in Pokemon format, but taken to rounds. Tbh, I forgot if health carries over between rounds, so I'll need to double check that. The format forces you to choose 3 characters. But I guess if you want to, you can just put Potemkin first and never lose. Just pick Ky and Sol for your 2nd and 3rd characters. If you lose just one round as Potemkin, then you'll have to use your other characters. Even you lose rounds with Potemkin on occasion I do know that it won't let you select your order after you've picked your three characters. The order is the order you picked them in. For the rules, I'm thinking 2/3 matches where winner has to stay the same characters and order, loser can change characters and order. -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
Okay I'll check it out, thanks. Also, Sledge, the next tourney will be on 10/3, but we're doing a special thing for GG. It'll be the special team mode found in the GGAC+ console version. You choose 3 characters versus your opponent's 3 characters, KoF style. -
As absolutely geeky as it sounds for me to say this, Axl was kind of cool to play with in Megaman X Command Mission.
-
They could pick Axl from X7/8 as well. I'd like to see some villains, though.

FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010

I'll talk to Ralph about it and see what we can do. There's nothing in that cabinet atm, so there's little reason to not put it in. -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
We'll we've got one empty AM cabinet with VGA set up, but we didn't really have a game to put in it. Taito X/X2 was what we were using, but it was more or less a spare board for when another Taito X2 board crashes and dies. Atomiswave uses VGA and I hadn't even considered putting one in there. If you could have it your way, which would you prefer? HnK in a zero-lag stand-up Am stick setup or HnK in a Delta 32 cabinet (I can change the screen back to 4:3 instead of widescreen) with quite a bit of lag on it. -

You wouldn't mind it on Am sticks? We have other cabinets we could put it on with a VGA monitor if you don't mind Am sticks. -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
We were actually planning on putting in NGBC right from the start, but we didn't have the cart at the arcade and had to get it from the warehouse. So I put a different Atomiswave game in that I thought everyone would like, too, HnK. NGBC came out on Xbox Live Arcade recently, so quite a few people are getting into it. It definitely is already doing better than HnK was when it was in that cabinet. I'll see about switching it out for HnK during every tournament, it's not hard to swap. If I had my way, it would be KoFXI ^_^ -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010

That was a lot of fun, I always enjoy running these tournaments even if it's a lot of work. Once my series of exams are over I'll focus back on my BB training. Fucking awesome tournament! Everything in BB was hype: Makoto Camaro showing us stupid awesome Makoto corner combos. Ryofang for getting 3rd place, then having to wake up for high school Monday morning. Shout-outs to the vastly fewer amount of Jin players to enter tournaments since CT (Render where are you??!). There was a TON of brand new faces here for BlazBlue: The Baron, Dan, Wicked, Ikarus, Moon Master, Mr. X, Kuro Fuugetsu, ryofang and TC. And a bunch of old school CT returning players who showed up for the first time like Kila and Diar. Thanks a lot to Mike Z. for always winning Guilty Gear, for bringing in Tetris Attack, and for bringing in Skull Girls. There was a new super that I didn't get to see! Thanks to everybody else, too. These tournaments help get fresh new fighters into airdashers. So many people I talk to just play Street Fighter IV, and have never played any other fighting game. It's events like these that show them what other fighters are all about. Thanks to RoyalFlush for holding another awesome TvC tournament. No Drinks got second place, freakin' awesome. Keep up the TvC practice. Announcements for next tournament: Guilty Gear Accent Core 3 character 1 player tournament! It will happen. Each player chooses 3 characters that they fight against 3 other characters. The winner is the one who is most versatile and skilled. This will take place on the AC+ console game, so please bring your PS2 sticks. Full rules coming soon. Tetris Attack Tournament: With the amazing success of the first Tetris Attack, we'll be bringing it again next time. So get your thumbs ready for some block switching cursor moving action. Maybe this time I'll enter and even learn the names of the characters! =O BlazBlue: Continuum Shift: This next tournament will include the arrival of Valkenhayn! So get your two weeks of practice in if you want to use him in the tournament! Melty Blood: Actress Again: I really want to see the MB tournaments get off the ground. To help do this, I'm dropping the entry fee to $1 winner-take-all. Please don't decline to enter just because you don't have money for the entry fee. And if you think you're not good enough enter anyways! It's just a dollar and it's a great experience entering tournaments for your first time. Twinkle Star Sprites: I don't have full plans for this yet, but if I can get someone to run it we'll have it. I'll see you all again at most in 2 weeks. Show up Thursdays for airdasher casuals at FFA! -

Maybe Virus Sigma? Like the virtual version in X2 or something. I still say Vile in his badass armor would be really cool.

I know, right? The Fighting game genre just isn't meant for casual gamers. <offtopic> I was watching Ultimate Gamer for the first time yesterday. It's a reality TV show where all these gamers have to live with each other and eliminate each other through video game face-offs. It's really cheesy (which makes it accidently really funny). So, their first challenge was Tekken 6. When I thought of them having to beat each other in Tekken 6, I thought they would play against each other, or play in a mini tournament, or something, but no, I was wrong. Each player had to play Survival Mode, and whoever lasted the longest against the computer won. That is what casual gamers are reduced to when it comes to fighting games: whoever can last longest against the computer wins. </offtopic> I know a lot of people who are into TvC and run tournaments at the arcade. I play with them on rare occasions and enjoy it, but I don't want to play a game I can't get any practice on (whether its in the arcade or at home).
-
TvC was very well balanced considering the type of game it was, and since MvC3 will play with mostly the same engine and have the same director, it looks like it will still be decently balanced (not nearly as bad as MvC2). For me, balancing isn't 100% the most important issue, but it is definitely high up there. As long as everyone is close together on the tier listing I wouldn't ask for much more (no D tier and no S+ tier). A lot of the MvC2 crowd doesn't like this game mostly because of the button layout, which I can respect, they changed a lot. But if you take MvC3 as a standalone game and ignore MvC2 and its predecessors, it looks like a pretty cool game and I think I'll get into it. Tbh I didn't get into TvC just because it was on Wii. If it were on PS3 I probably would have gotten into it.

How about HOWARD the DUCK!!? And Bucky would have been cool if they didn't add Captain America.

ShinATProof should be bringing his MBAA console ver. to the arcade on Thurs, so come down if you play MB! -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
Okay, so it's kind of late to set up GG as a 3on3 this time (and it works out better if we do it on arcade for now because of other console stuff). So, next time (10/3) we WILL have the special Guilty Gear of Fighters 20ΛC mode. 3 characters, 1 player. I'll have to construct some rules for it (you can't select your order like in KoF, so we might have some sort of double blind pick going on), and we'll probably need two setups because it will take longer. P.S. Sorry about my lag in posting lately, I just finished a huge exam in school. I have another one coming up soon, too, so I might wink out of existence temporarily on the threads. Also, I'm starting a new D&D campaign and that has been eating some of my time (once the campaign has started I won't be working on my character as much, but for now I need to make a backstory, select gear, select classes, etc.). P.P.S. I need to start practicing my A.B.A! -
FFA Airdasher Bi-weekly Tournaments (BB, GG, MB, etc.) Season 2010
Id_asz replied to Id_asz's topic in Archive
How about 5ish, then. We're going to be using console setups on those CRTs for Melty Blood, so they'll be free afterwards. And, anymore feedback from people before I choose whether or not to do the KoF-style Guilty Gear teams? -
I remember my first time playing X4 and my health got low. "Time to get serious" in a wussie tone with an english accent worse than 1st year Harry Potter. But... that's not nearly as bad as Dr. Light in MM8 "Dowctow Wiwwie!" Just because someone has a wussie voice doesn't mean they aren't badass, though. Case an point: Goku in Japanese dubbed DragonBall Z.

^^ This! It's been awhile since I've played BoF3, but that werewolf guy would be awesome.
