Anime Expo 2010 BBCS and GG Tournament- Jul 1-4

That was a pretty awesome moment. Even better that the trophy you unlocked was "Lamb to the Slaughter" haha. Sob, it's so true. But good games to all and props to Zong, he definitely deserved to win. One day though I'll be sure to beat you down! (...Maybe after I switch my main to Bang or something).

Socal: Arcade Infinity! Let's Match it UP

Wow so many people last night, GGs all around. I'm a little sad to have missed a big chunk of the action though, I went out to dinner with a few friends and that took longer than expected. Zong is getting pretty beastly with his Arakune. Being on the receiving end of a 9k+ combo is not a very good feeling at all. Also despite getting some wins I felt pretty off, failed inputs and FC combos make me very sad. Not to mention losing to a pink throw 720... sad times but it just teaches me that I should pay more attention haha.
  3. You shouldn't think that Render carried you to the top Dacidbro, you played great and had some pretty awesome matches. The finals especially was pretty intense, I can't wait to get a second look when those matches are put on youtube. That said... Render, you were pretty crazy that night and you got your revenge on me . But just you wait until next ranbat. I'll get better and make sure to beat you... or at least not lose as badly. Also thanks to Mike Z for trying to give me some Tager tips. I definitely need to step up my game so the advice was much appreciated. All and all the ranbat was great fun, can't wait for the next 2v2. Too bad we couldn't do that random teams/sub-character tourney though, I wanted to see how far my scrubby Bang skills would take me.
  4. If no one else would volunteer and you really need it, I could run the tournament. I have some experience in organizing tournaments since I worked at the Games Room in Cal Poly Pomona so I'm pretty sure I could run it competently enough. That said I would prefer not to if at all possible lol. Plus I doubt you would want to leave the Ranbat at the hands of a guy who has only been to one of the AI ranbats thus far and would probably feel more comfortable leaving it to the more experienced players there. Or you can make sure to come so we don't have to worry about it! Besides I want a rematch for my loss in the 1.3 Ranbat. =(
  5. Oooh, I hope I get a chance to play you in the tournament. I felt like I haven't played against your Noel in like... forever. That is, if you still play Noel. Is this going to be when you unveil your Ragna training?!
  6. But you have to make it there! Who else will be able to step forward and do such awesome commentary?

    [CS1] Iron Tager Video Thread

Wow there were some seriously nice 720's in there. Must feel pretty bad to Hell's Fang into Tager's waiting hand. Also I can learn a thing or two from how you dealt with that Tager mirror. Honestly I hate that fight, I'm totally clueless on how to approach a player with all the same answers that I have. I feel like I'm playing rock paper scissors but I'm always picking wrong.

    BB:CS Match-Up Chart

The more common moves for Ragna that remove guard primers all either have a long start up or are very unsafe. Dead Spike (I think that's what its called) leaves him advantaged on block but it has a long start up, you could probably punish or at the very least jump out of it. Hell's Fang follow up will also take away a primer but leave him incredibly open and 2D is much of the same, not to mention on block it ends any kind of pressure. Of course, all of these points are made null if he has meter. He can RC and rampage on you but smart use of barrier/IB and poking out at the holes in his pressure should be enough to get Rachel out of trouble. There is of course a well timed Cat Chair too.

Haha big talk man! I better be seeing videos of you in the top 8 on the next ranbat! Seriously though good luck and kick some butt out there today. Make your mother proud this Mother's Day.

    [CS1] Iron Tager Complete Guide

I watched the video and that was one pretty awesome combo. It gave a hefty amount of meter, about 50~ish although you couldn't tell exactly because he hit 100 heat before the combo was over. I tried to practice this combo but no matter what I did, I couldn't land it. After the j.C whiff, J.2C, the enemy was too far away for 2B to hit. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it a Carl specific combo? (I was practicing on a Bang player)

Thanks for all the tips, I really appreciate all of the input. I never noticed how much I barrier blocked until it was brought up so I'll keep an eye out for that one and try to IB more. I'll definitely admit my hit confirms were off that night, I was so nervous that when I managed to get a hit in sometimes I'd spaz and forget what to do next or mash something random. I could only hope at the next tournament that I'll be a little more relaxed but only time will tell. xP
  12. Grr, be my friend dammit.

    [CS1] Iron Tager Video Thread

I'm a long time lurker who finally has some videos to share! CS Ranbat 1.3 - Top 8 joemamma (JI) vs Bao (TA) CS Ranbat 1.3 - Top 8 Bao (TA) vs render (JI) CS Ranbat 1.3 - Top 8 Bao (TA) vs Zong-1 (CA) It was my first Ranbat so I was pretty nervous and boy does it show. My execution was pretty terrible (lots of blue combos and I missed Terrabreak like 3 times that tournament ) but any and all advice or critique would be much appreciated! Anything to make me seem less scrubby on my next tournament.
  14. Aw why does it have to be on Mother's Day? I'm going to try to make it to that Ranbat but my odds are pretty slim... oh well, at least there is still the 2v2 tournament to look forward to and lets not forget Tager Festival. Much fun and 720's to be had there.
