    [UNIEL] News & Gameplay Discussion

Nice to know it's not dead. Phonon seemed fun from the few hours I spent with her.
  3. Not a bad look. I'll take it.
  4. Incorrect. Akira has had that outfit since VF2. In VF1 he wore a black Gi. He didn't switch to default white until VF4.
  5. Dubbed BB started out so good. Then in CS2 people started getting recast and by CP almost ever character was voiced by Cristina Vee. I didn't even give the GG dub a chance. Wasn't going to let them break my heart again.
  6. Sorry if this has been asked, but is this not getting a Vita version? Was the Vita version of CP and CPEX announced in tandem with the PS3 versions? I got a Vita recently, so it's disappointing if true. And please don't respond with "I doubt it because the Vita is dead", because everyone is thinking it and it goes without saying. It still sells in Japan though.
  7. Everyone rejoice and sing that Mu has YET ANOTHER primarily white color scheme.
  8. It's cool that we're finally getting Raven after all these years, but holy crap I care about Dizzy more than everyone else combined (minus Zappa, he'd tip that scale). Just show a picture or something, a silhouette isn't enough.
  9. Nah, no worries, I worded that obnoxiously anyway. I meant to look into it more while I was at home, but I forgot so when I got to the arcade and loaded the page on my phone I was surprised at how not-straightforward her combos seemed to be. Her drive is super weird too. Maybe once you figure her out she's easy, but she certainly isn't intuitive.
  10. She's confusing as hell to me. The incomprehensible combos listed on her forum aren't helping. I was going to sit down and try to figure some basic crap out today, but 2 rounds in some punk-ass Hibiki challenged me and of course steamrolled me because I couldn't even remember what all of her specials were. He knew too, he was sitting next to me playing one of those Nesica fighters I've never seen anyone touch, Quit just for the easy win, what a punk. On the bright side, after an initial loss because I'm out of practice (and still auto pilot CS1 stuff, and forgot the stuff I learned a month ago and I've never fought a Hibiki player before) I beat him 4 times in a row (then lost). Now I'm 3rd Dan, and the website is recognizing Mu as my main instead of just assuming I use Ragna! Yay! Hibiki is obnoxious, I hate fighting characters with full screen, near instant supers. I always forget about them when I'm throwing steins around all willy-nilly.
  11. Went to the arcade today to try out Izanami. Didn't bother to look up with her drive did, couldn't figure it out on my own. didn't learn much, lol. Couldn't combo at all, especially with her weird float instead of a double jump. Going to have to do some research next time. Also, I watched a 19 Dan ranked Izanami fight a 19 Dan ranked Mu, and for the first round I honestly, seriously thought he was playing training mode. That Mu touched him like 3 times the whole match (and it was best 3 out of 5). I'm scared.
  12. Had a dream where I was at the arcade and noticed they added Dizzy. Got excited and tried to play as her in training mode right away, but for some reason my opponent was Necro from SF3, and all the colors were inverted. I thought it was a glitch, so I reset position, and when I did that suddenly I was also playing as Necro, but he was wearing a dark green cloak. What I've taken from this dream is that Dizzy's "Necro" wing is, in reality, Necro from SF3. Didn't see that one coming.
  13. I managed to beat some Tager player and am happy with myself, because I lost so badly last week that I felt like I'd never win again. Proof (that nobody asked for)! I put a sombrero over a guy playing SF4 to protect his integrity. I've enjoyed everyone I've tried out this time around. It's such a shame knowing in a year everything will get rebalanced again. I almost hope Nine isn't fun for that reason. Also, Tager needs to stop tanking everything I throw at him. Makes fighting him super stressful.
  14. So uh, I was playing this today, and is there a known glitch where Mu's C attacks don't animate properly, or am the first one to run into this? I'm assuming it's only for her costume #7 (the white one the one with black hair), and that they somehow forgot to color in the beams or something. I took a video just in case. I'll up it in a minute, if anyone cares. [edit] here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PHQVZkH2y4
  15. I can't even begin to fathom why you'd think that. There's nothing exceptionally inappropriate about it. Played this a little bit today. Glad that Mu can jump cancel 2c again, but I dunno if that's enough to make me go back to her. Steins still seem really slow, but I'm going from memory. I almost never wind up facing opponents who totally overwhelm me, but of course the good players were out for day 1, being jerks in best of 5. Like I get you're playing to win, but when it's day 1 and I have 0 matches on my card do you really have to non-stop bum rush me? Kind of rude. By the end of round 2, there was no doubt that I was losing. [edit] does anyone know what it asks you when you first play if you use a nesica card and already had data? bemani games usually ask if you want to carry over data, and I assumed this was something along those lines since some stuff carried over from CP to CPEX. However, I can't even login to the player's guild for CF. No idea why. I know my password, and data I have saved on the CPEX player's guild still works. This is irritating, I wanted to see if there were colors you could buy yet.
  16. Yikes, that's pricey compared to other games. But they're not even appearing. Do you need to like, fight a real human being first or something? Because I've yet to do that. Nobody plays this game. Also, JP and US communicate fine, 90% sure. I'm in Japan with the US version, and I'd see people exclusively with Japanese titles (which you can't select in the US version as far as I know)
  17. Er, there isn't even a main menu screen. You press start, and right away you're at character select. If you hold A on the title screen it tells you your cards ID number for some reason, and if you hold (something I forgot) on color select you can set a default color, I think. But no idea how to use 11-20.
  18. How do you access colors 11-20 in the arcade version? The player's guild is setup just like BB, but when you click on colors you get a blank page. I don't get it.
  19. Played with Jam a little today. She seems kind of fun, but I've never known how to play her so I dunno. It took me way too long to realize you can chain her special, lol. Thought you needed to power them up first. I feel like her qcf kick used to have a bigger hitbox, based on super casual single player play from XX through AC. In other words, I have nothing to talk about...but it whiffs an awful lot, it looks like it would have a bigger hitbox. I really liked her light blue outfit when I saw it in a screenshot but it looks little worse in person. Still ok though. I don't get it, X'rd is a great looking game but I feel like it has an awful lot of ugly palettes. Jack-O's are good at least. I'm a tool so I voted for Dizzy. I really want Zappa too, but considering how Jam wound up looking, Dizzy has more potential I think.
  20. I didn't play on the same cab every time, so I guess that could be it. I thought difficulty was standardized in the online distribution era (it is for music games, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean anything).
  21. Oh my god, this forum. "Does anybody understand how the CPU difficulty works in this game?" "LOL GET BETTER, GG IS THE BEST I WONDER WHY NOBODY PLAYS IT"
  22. You aren't making any sense. The whole point I was making was that I beat the game with a character with whom I wasn't even consistently doing specials with, then proceeded to do worse with characters I was better with. The computer in X'rd was always a brain dead punching bad up until Ramlethal, and she was only difficult when she decided to spam supers at inopportune times. I'm asking if anybody knows the specifics of what was done to the computer, not if anybody knows how to get better at fighting games. There is literally no reason for you to be responding to me.
  23. Pointless response. I didn't ask "hey guys, tell me how to spend my time". I just wanted to run through arcade mode.
  24. Has anybody but me here played Relevator yet? I want to know if the CPU is as infuriating as I think it is. Here is my experience (note I am bad at the game and hadn't played X'rd since January) First try: Picked Johnny, consistently forgot how to do his specials, knew no combos. Only lost one round to Millia. Brain dead CPU. 2nd: Picked Jack-O. Learned some really basic combos but I still don't understand how you're supposed to use her. Had no trouble, I think I lost a round against Sol. 3rd try: Picked Ky, my old main with whom I still knew some combos. Steamrolled up until stage 6 or 7 and fought Sin. Was about to win round 3 (best of 5), but stupidly went for an IK, and lost. Figured NBD, except suddenly Sin was punishing every time he blocked instead of eating meat within stab range like he'd been doing earlier in the match. I wound up losing. Difficulty goes up between matches, but does it also go up between rounds? It was night and day. 4th try: Picked Jack-O. Fought Potemkin 1st. Lost horribly. Like, really horribly. The computer in X'rd was never anywhere near that level with anybody except ramlethal. So yeah, they went from punching bag to "will punish consistently". Kind of infuriating. I want my 100 yen back, I am not rich.
