  1. At least you know what Jubei looks like, and what his story is. I don't even know what Warrant Officer Ellen Nelson looks like, or why she exists (considering they specifically say there are no warrant officers in the NOL in one of the Teach me Miss Litchi segments). Why do I even want this character? I don't know.

You know what, forget it, I'm with Jubei-avatar guy. Put Meifang in the game, we need more female characters with no pants.

  2. I think Xrd did a great job with models, but I still prefer sprites. The models all have really samey faces, and there's something kinda chunky about them. It's better than nothing though, and definitely better than the SFV look.

I didn't care for the CP remixes either, but the overall new track quality has been mostly up to par. I definitely don't remember a single new track from Xrd, unless you count Heavy Day. I'm in this weird minority where I played GG first, and I still like BB better. I'm like one of 5 people on earth, not counting people who play for the story.

  3. Are those actually Adventure Time palettes or just some guy's speculation 'cause that is wayyy arbitrary. I saw AT plushes and stuff in UFO catchers a few times last year, but never got the impression it was popular. Was assistant teaching grades 5-9 and no one ever mentioned it / had merch or clothes / none of their many TV and movie themed arts and crafts were of AT. Maybe it's like a reverse anime and only adults watch it.

Also, if they really are supposed to At themed, bums me out that they gave PB to Kokonuts 'cause I don't like her...but thematically it makes sense since she's a scientist with questionable morals who plays god...oh wait, that's actually perfect.

  4. Ran into someone playing this game and it reminded me that I like it a lot, so I picked up the Vita version just to mess around a little (don't have my PS3 atm). I know the game is beyond dead and the Vita version is extra dead, but it couldn't hurt to ask, is there a patch somewhere that fixes the freezing when you beat story mode problem? Scharlawhatever was way harder than I remember her being in vanilla and when I landed that final hit on the final boss I was happy to be done with it...and then it froze. Not cool! Is there a fix? Some posts on gamefaqs made it sound like there was, but I won't be surprised if there isn't.

Also, why doesn't Six Stars have a home version, is Examu stupid or something? <_<

[edit] oh, you click on the yellow icon on the splash page to download the update. ok.

  5. Kind of bums me out that you only need 10% of the challenges for the trophy. That's nothing. Doing the challenges is my favorite part of a new game's single player, honestly. It's nice they didn't get rid of the one for completing all of a single character's I guess, but with 30ish playable characters, you could do 10% with your eyes closed. Lame.

KoFXIV was way too easy in that regard too. Only had to do 100 out of 250, and I did all 250 in probably 2 or 3 hours because only like 4 of them weren't super easy.

  6. I'd be a lot more torn up if the post CS dub didn't go way downhill. I honestly didn't even finish story mode in CP. I did prefer the dub cast tho, especially Tager, Makoto and Kokonoe. And the first Hazama...

lol at people "moving on to tekken 7". TTT2 made no waves in the US and T7 is even less remarkable. I like Tekken ok, but let's be real. Tekken's glory days in the US are long gone.

  7. Holy crap, it's just her, not "his/her". God help you if anyone you know ever transitions if you can't even deal with a fictional character being magicked into being 100% biologically female. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this is the internet and it's hard to tell if you just have hangups or if you're doing that on purpose.

That said, she sounds liked a pretty dumb character, lol. Her drive could be cool though.

  8. Finally got this game. I played Xrd SIGN so little that it's almost like starting all over. Years of casual pad play, with it's screwed up P and K mapping, have made reading this game's notation trickier than any other. Oh well, gotta get used to it...and Dizzy's altered normals which keep screwing with me. Why change her S to 4S? bleh.

now I just need my own internet connection...

  9. I feel like Nesica and Ringedge keep outdated games on the server just so people will occasionally pick the wrong game by accident and waste 100 yen, Not speaking from experience with Under Night In-Birth that one time at the Taito Big Box in Takadanobaba or anything...

I might double dip on a PS4 version if it was full Japanese, tbh. I'm not usually so elitist about voice acting, but I found some of the win quotes in P4AU incredibly irritating, and hated that I couldn't skip them fast enough. I intended to spend more than a week with the game, but between that and everybody seemingly deciding that they hated it upon release...

  10. Sighx2.

I never said a lot of people played it? No idea where that remark was coming from. That said, FS was plenty active online for months, despite people who didn't actually playing it loving to claim it was dead on arrival.

Also, it being plain is a matter of opinion. I think it has tons of character, and the cheesy-ball lines are a lot more charming than anything out of Tekken. Also, every character has 4 intro lines/poses and 4 victory lines/poses + another 6 with items. Of course, nobody took notes and we've got SFIV / V / and now Xrd having one victory cinematic per character. Lame. Also, for what it's worth, the customization was pretty good. I had a lot more fun with it than in Tekken at least.

Quality isn't great, but here's a video showcasing all the goofy extra win poses. Lion's dog pose win pose is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

Also, the myth of VF being "hard" is super irritating and I'm sure it's cost the franchise dearly. Is it a difficult game to master? Absolutely, but so is basically every fighting game. Is it hard to get into? No. Not even a little. I dare say it has the lowest barrier of entry of any fighting game, or it would if any beginners still played it. Just don't pick Akira, Shun, or Vanessa right away. It doesn't quite have a Tekken level of "hit random buttons and stuff will happen", but I think it's easier to get a basic feel for each character than in Tekken.
