  1. I agree with Spirit Juice, I highly doubt Chun's gonna smoke a doobie with NCI funds, it's going towards a cause and I'm NOT afraid that Chun is going to misspend it. But, as amazingly fun as this tournament was, logistics and organization wise, on everyone's part was very rickety. I think the biggest factor is the scheduling. As Crosell said, we have to stop being nice. If someone is not there, they are NOT THERE, and we have to make a final statement, 5 minutes is too long. It doesn't matter that the tournament gets tons of Byes/DQ's but if that's what it takes then it should happen anyways. Also, the fact that there were crossed tournaments where people entered GG/MB/BB/Cath. makes it difficult to run everything efficiently because they are always held up in a bracket in another game. The USB cabinet/Joystick problem was unforseen, and it sucked, there wasn't anything we can do about it but Orion/Willy/Crosell did pretty well rounding everybody through the brackets around that BS (I'm guilty as charged lol pad 4 lyf ) Coopa, we HAVE to get SD/HD transfers quickly and efficiently, the setup change from BB to GG was rediculous, I know that my setup being there made it slightly more confusing, but being able to transfer to a new setup must be more efficient. I think we said 30 second setup change to the stream monsters took instead about 20 minutes. On that note, FKO should get on a "Stream test", "Restart", "Setup Change" wallpaper so that streamers can visually see that the stream is going to go down. On this entire note, we should take this entire tournament as a huge lesson, its a GREAT example of what we can definitely improve on so we can reduce the problems as much as possible next time. Take this as a learning experience, not something we fucked up on, especially since it was such a great tournament in the end.

  3. Truest statement of the year lol. Late shoutouts since Youtube uploader is stupid as fuck and I can't upload videos so I have time to spare now- Myung: For being freakin amazing, your arcade rocks! Shadowfiend: You're always the best mang, I wish we could adopt you here in Norcal ;__; for all those salty players and boring matches, everything you do just injects hype into the tourney. Xie: For being awesome like always :3 our match was really fun, it would be a lot more interesting if I had solid fundamentals. A match between you and MysticD would sounded interesting. Crosell/Whiteboywilly: Yo you guys got me on that GDLK ramen, I could just die happy :3 Thanks for hanging around and running brackets! OrionXElite: :3 Coopa: Dude, streaming stamina is a little different from recording stamina, and I could tell you were dying towards the end of the tournament. Thanks again for beastin for FKO and tag-teaming the media. Raikanami: LOL JAY thanks for the camera stuff Sahgren/hobbes: Thanks for the lift! Couldn't have done my usual without you guys :3 Chun: Holdin dat shit down, great tournament great experience Huey: Good shit on first! You deserve it! c0r/sG: Thanks for holding it down on the mic guys, I think PNW commentary was needed :3

  6. I have TONS of equipment so I hope you have trunk space, but yes I would love to be picked up :3
  7. Like the prince of bel-air, FRESH Sites looking good.
  8. I was kinda joking, but there is a little seriousness I was intending here. Sleep deprivation is not a excuse to not make a tournament. Standard tournament timings are usually 8-10am start, and we should follow suit. As for driving distance combination with the sleep factor, I don't think a 2 hour difference would ruin the tournament, imo. Could be wrong, depending on people reactions around the bay. Probably the Sac people will get hit the most hardest. Also, if people worked on NCI day I highly doubt they would come at all, and if they did, they would come later, when the tournament already started, just to casual and socialize. In all honestly, I was saying 10 so that between 10-12, we can get a LOT of preparation and organization DONE, so then we can start cleanly at 12. The "Come 12 start 12" mentality hasn't been working... for the past 8 months lol. On another note, I money match all takers on Final Fantasy 7 REAL TALK
  9. Very easy to fix the tournament time problem- Tourney starts at 10! Tournament actually starts at 12. Mission accomplished, we started at 12 roflz.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/thebbvlog Uploads are starting now. Thanks Crosell :3
  11. I haven't ever been to a previous evo, but this far surpassed my expectations. Be ready for front stage action with sad panda LK, and Spark blowing everyone up... it was amazing. A big thanks to OrionXElite and Crosell for manning TheBBVlog while I was up front. Luckily, I didn't lose anything the entire EVO, and its thanks to the crew for watching my stuff :3 Prepare for MikeZ Hokuto no Ken basketball infinites folks.
  12. Talked to Wizard. Basically, we are streaming both at the same time. BUT... with the power of Rin and Rai, *whisper* we favor Blazblue * SHHHHHHH.. :3 Also, I have a backup plan, where if we must switch to Tekken, I will then take over as the "Head Streamer" for Blazblue, and instead, I'll setup my full setup on a secondary console. So while they're streaming Tekken, Blazblue will be recorded fully by me, and the judges will push the higher level players on MY setup. Basically, TheBBVlog will have entire coverage, but BB stream monsters may have a tough time watching 8 way runs for hours on end..
  13. If its in the BB Pools range, we have internet. Otherwise, its dedicated servers just for SpookyxIPW, or FinestKOxOffcast. I'm here with Raikanami, and we are setup and ready to roll on Blazblue pool recording! >:3 Remember to look for us at the BLACK TABLES at the END of the pools!

2d~b is pretty strong, but as it says, it gets obvious. You can make it baitable though through watching what they do. TaoFTW did this, and I did as well. If they're auto-jumping out of the mixup -> 2d~b, do 2d~b j.B+C. The airthrow hitbox is wierd and catches them off guard. Also, you can 2d~b -> jump since you have one jump left to bait a DP, or have air priority. 5d~a is generally strong as KM said, but 5d~c -> j.c on counter hit is 4k combo, and on block its pretty good... the j.c part I mean. They can DP/AA between the 5d~c and j.c, but then again, just barrier if you see it coming. Free combo. Also, remember the pretty gdlk overhead crossup, with mixup -> 214d -> j.c (reverse) -> dash -> 5b -> 3c blahblahblah.
  15. wtf. this is the BLAZBLUE OFFICIAL DEBUT at EVO... and Aksys is like... nahhhhh i pass... :[
  16. JWong is probably free, I can't see him taking Top 8 or anything, there is tons of matchup specific stuff, that good fundamentals will only take you so far. BUT he could make it far. Lets just not let a "TOKIDO" happen again please America. =w= Oh, so its purely controlled by EVO staff. At least you'll have a booth at EVO? Actually, Aksys has been pretty quiet about EVO, whats goin on?
  17. A pushback is alright with me. For people with tickets/requested days off though, I hope they can still make it D:

Yes, I already knew XDest was mod. Yes, I'm going to EVO. No, I'm not playing because A) Recording/interviewing/taking b-roll/drinking is taking 99% of my time, B) Dualshock3/Sixaxis banned, which is my most comfortable option.
  19. James, are you actually running this tournament at EVO? With your same laptop at Revelations?
  20. Holy hell talk about seeding. Did you make these brackets James?!

"Hard" changes in the eye of the beholder. Some people don't understand how it works :P Its fuckin cakewalk for me, but for newbies (Which in my opinion, Tao players are NOT newbie friendly, all new players asking questions are ignored, which deters them from learning Tao...) its tough... Yes, we should have a new mod. I thought XDest would be a great choice. Knowledge-wise yes, but basic Mod duties, no... I guess I'll get Spirit Juice on this... again :/

Maybe I should've made that tutorial video TaoFTW is retired. He still plays Guilty Gear at norcal install's here and there, but he has left the scene awhile ago. Its sad, because he was a VERY strong Tao. If it wasn't for John, I wouldn't be here right now, I would never be inspired to play Blazblue, TheBBVlog wouldn't have existed, and I never would have seriously tried Tao. It was a sad farewell :[ Funny how like half of these Tao players here switched to the OTHER furry LOL... Tao j.D is kinda awkward, but honestly CS1 j.d having that much range was sorta broken. j.D is pretty strong in CS2 on hit anyways :P even on non counterhit confirms you can get some good combos Yaaaaayyy Makoto-nation =w=
