I honestly don't know why people fuss about quality so much when it comes to competitive games. Maybe I'm old school but if I'm watching a Ky match, so long as the quality is good enough that I can tell the visual difference between him doing f.s or 5hs, I'm good. I watch matches to pick up on ideas, not see pretty colors. If I wanna see pretty shit, I just pop in the game. Anyways, that's just me. But anyways, still surprised no one noticed he had a Youtube channel when everyone jumps on his twitch stream as soon as gdlk players come on. As for people uploading gameplay onto their channel, I don't see the problem, the more people that have it, the less likely we are to lose that content due to youtube's shit copyright rules. If one channel gets taken down, others will also have the content. I see it as a good thing, in a similar light as what TB said. @king of heart, why is it, traditionally there are usually so few strong Ky players? I find myself watching GG less and less everytime a new version of the game comes out since machabo is the only monstrous Ky player, though ain, hayashi, and roz are honourable mentions. Why don't strong players ever really play Ky?

Ky's already a pretty damn strong character in this version, who just had bad matchups mostly due to characters that have silly tools. I don't think he needs that much adjustments in my opinion. My only wishlist for him is to get back AC/ACR greed sever cross up bounce effect on hit again, AC/ACR 5hs hitbox, I'm already happy he has 5hs CH stagger again. Makes mashing against him scarier now. Also we got easier YRC stun edge, that's a huge plus.

Keeping at f.s range works perfectly for me, allows me to combo into either 3hs or stun dipper depending on how he got nicked by f.s.

Good posts, so then how does someone deal with high level play, knowing that your opponent is looking to maximize the smallest mistake oriented decision you make. And how should someone see themselves as being outplayed by another player? Personally, I can tell objectively when I am being outplayed by my opponent and know they are simply better than me and it's not a fact of me being a bad player, but they are just a more experienced player who is better at making all the right decisions. Simply put, I make more bad decisions than them, so they have more to capitalize on, so I need to keep playing at this level to make less mistakes. By me making less mistakes I'll have, at least in theory, more opportunities to capitalize on their mistakes. Thoughts? How should someone see themselves as being outplayed at high level competition?

To go off of what shtkn and dreiko sad, just because someone is outplaying, doesn't mean you're necessarily playing bad are you? It just means they have a slight edge, perhaps even psychological edge, over you. Examples of Nemo vs Ogawa when Xrd dropped. You could see how Nemo eventually just kept playing Ogawa for the sake of not looking like a quitter, as opposed to Machabo's Ky who kept persisting and got ever closer to beating Ogawa until he finally lost, it just took about 20 matches or so to do that. Or another example is the age old LordKnight vs Spark in cs2, eventually you could see how Spark basica,ly broke LK's confidence in himself to open up Spark and beat him. Both LK and Nemo are amazing players, but their opponents had a huge psychological advantage over them, which allowed them to outplay them.

I like the responses so far Curious what players like TB, shtkn, destin, and sytha would say as well. EDIT: @dreiko, i see your response puts the two concepts i mentioned together. High level play is focusing on few dangerous options, while ignoring the other ones that are otherwise useless or sparingly used, while outplaying means to make the right decision based off on those few options and being rewarded for doing so.

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could do me all a favor. Yesterday me and a couple of my friends were having some wicked sets and playing all very seriously. One of them wasn't used to this high octane level of play,a nd got frustrated that off the smallest mistake, like a poorly spaced normal or special, would completely ruin him for the round. I tried making him understand that this is essentially high level play; the smallest of mistake can and will get you killed. Both you and your opponent are looking for these mistakes to capitalize on for the win. Focusing on your mistakes make you lose more, but he still kept criticizing and harping himself on his mistakes, even when he had 3+ game win streaks. Long story short, could you guys give me your definition(s) of "high level play" and what it means to "outplay someone"? I know the two terms aren't mutually exclusive, but I would like to see a concrete definition to show him. And it would be an interesting discussion since these terms we use a lot in these games without truly defining what they mean

You won't be seeing that for these loketests, there's no new character just balance adjustments. Unlike the previous loketests where it was an entirely new game after 8 years. The hype is different this time around. When the game drops, you'll see tons of footage, but right now, we already essentially have the game.

What other changes did Ky get besides the ones that were posted in the main Xrd thread? And aren't people jumping to conclusions too quickly? It's still just a second location test, and there's still one more. What is the current proration rate on stun edge by the way?

There's is very few start up frames on stun edge, so essentially, as soon as you've done 236s, you should already be pressing YRC don't wait for the stun dege to appear on screen. It's very tight in terms of execution, I'm not even used to it yet and can't do it reliably. If you wait for the stun edge to appear you've waited too long

Opera is pretty bad for online too last time I checked, with all them niggas spinning around in a circle and shit all day long.
