Is it just me or does the recovery for his moves seem better now? the recovery on Stinger especially seems better. Maybe it's just N-Os execution is on point but stuff that looks like it would've been punishable in AC, he blocks like opponents IAD over Stingers would usually be a punish. As well, the hitboxes for his moves seem better for connecting with summoned balls.

I think it's also coupled with the fact that Venom can't do any of the old big damage combos anymore. Even Maddo had to get creative. Hopefully they find good damage options soon. From the looks of it, they want Venom more to be a zoning/rushdown character so they took away his easy big damage options but gave him more overall tools in respects to rushdown and zoning.

That's a shame about Tactics arch, but it's still early and Venom I think is the most changed character. From the footage I've seen, people are working with ghetto combos since the CR loop mainstay is gone. The FB stinger looks pretty sick though, and the 6P being pretty diesel in terms of angle and upper body invuln. Been playing Venom for a long time, would've liked to see him be godlike for once.

I think you misunderstand. I believe he means that he sucks and can't do the higher damage combos, BUT if the game had cheesy anime quotes that went along with combos, he'd be more inclined to try and learn these high damage, efficient combos that we take for granted. You must remember that this is a genius who thinks like a developer, not like us lowly Fighting Game players who only think of high level tournament play. Seriousness: Does anyone have any info on how Venom now plays? I heard he was "godlike" during the loketest so they nerfed him a bit.

Yeah, wasn't digging the 6K combos, but am pretty disappointed about less bounces on FB balls as well as Stinger and CR reportedly being slower.

All those nerfs seem a bit knee jerk. Hopefully they buff him a bit.

You mean HS Mad Struggle? Played Venom over the weekend. Sad times that the bounce off of 6HS is gone. Don't know how to feel about these changes. Seems like his damage options aren't going to be very good although everything else seems solid.

They did. That doesn't mean that they're not still good though. They're just now as fanatiq would put it less "fraud-friendly". And one touching Strider isn't too difficult to do considering he only has 750

Mashing does make sense in some respects. The added 10-20 hits of unscaled damage to assists can really add up if you happen catch them with a Hyper. It also can prevent people from doing extended combos as well. In Vanilla there were plenty of characters that could combo after Hypers with and without the use of X-factor, but now with mashing, the added extra 20 or so hits may cause enough hit stun deterioration to help decrease the amount of one touches. Not too sure, but definitely would make sense.

The guy still does that but mixes it up by doing HS Stinger and releasing it late. Sometimes the ball will move in crazy angles. Good for zoning since people don't know what to expect. :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck:
