I've been working on getting some of my close friends and brothers into fighting games, and with the help of Blazblue they have started to understand how to block, cancel, and that some moves (ice carz!!!) are horribly punishable (I feel so proud ) But anyway, they've become legitimately interested in fighting games. So I picked up AC+ for ps2, since I had AC for Wii (i didn't really have a ps2/3 at the time and had moved on to other fighting games) and we proceeded to play. I immediately fell in love with GG all over again. I had honestly forgot how much I liked GG over BB. Anyway small anecdote aside I was curious if anyone else had a similar experience of going back to GG and realizing how much you missed it, or fond memories haha. *EDIT* I was just hoping to see if everyone else still has a love of GG in them (granted this is the guilty section of the board...)

This depresses me.. I was going to buy the game day one, but we were experiencing internet problems and I couldn't log on.. sadly then psn went down.. now the store won't be up in time for my week and a half break off before my internship.. But I've waited this long, I can wait some more.. hopefully they are just being conservative with dates..

Is the girl with the tornado good? She seems like she almost always gets free combos off that tornado or at least a plethora of cross-up/mix-up opportunities off it. Also the bananas and spears she has rain down seem pretty decent (especially since the bananas stick around) but eh this is what I've seen in one or two videos so I was curious.

I'm curious are there any arcana that are deemed useless? I don't know the most about this game and was wondering if there was a breakdown on the arcana (most of what I have found is primarily based around AH1 of AH2). Or if it had or could be discussed. From most videos (at least that I've seen) love, wind, dark, and plant are very commonly used. I know some arcana are chosen to focus on the arcana benefits over actual moves added (changes in power and defense in addition to altering character jumps and various enhancements/changes). I know most things are character specific, but to a certain extent an arcana's benefits can seem weak or underpowered in comparison to another.

How is ammy looking as a character outside of her ice shot assist? I know its posted that she "kinda" has a tri jump into godlike overhead, but wasn't sure how she looked overall.

I had mainly put BB due to the context and trying to come up with a goofy side poll to the topic. Whether or not that's where people went is up to them.. Glad this gained a large amount of traction. GG can only benefit from those videos Hellmonkey. I know plenty of people who it would greatly help them in at least being able to visualize what frames moves are executed during, what tools they have at their disposal, and what they should avoid doing. Also having it in an easy, relatively user friendly, guide area is always a plus as opposed to searching the forums or internet for videos. And honestly, helping someone get into fighting games (whether its BB, GG, or whatever) is probably more of the point or effort that people should strive for to help the scene. If someone takes the time to learn one fighting game they already are developing the mentality you need. The hardest part about learning a fighting game is its basically like learning another language for a beginner; it takes a ridiculous amount of practice to be exceptional. You ideally have to be able to know what normals combo into each other, what normals are special or super cancel-able, whether a move hits low, mid, or high, whether a move is safe on block or not, any unblock-able set-ups the character has, any game specific adjustments or abilities offered, and the list goes on. Also you have to recall this in fractions of a second at times. You technically need to know this about every character to be able to adapt to every possible situation, which is a daunting task to a newcomer. If you have no one on your level of playing ability, it makes it worse, you'll quickly become discouraged by always losing or not progressing as you feel you should. It just happens. But at least if people are proactive in helping others learn and try to eliminate any presumed elitism they have more of a chance to learn and grow than they do now. Hsien-ko being in Puzzle Fighter, Pocket Fighter, Namco x Capcom, and Cross Edge means nothing really (out of that list there is only one actual fighting game and she isn't even really the "same" character from the VS series given the style of the game...) But all that aside I'm happy with any Darkstalkers/Vampire characters included; all of the characters are more interesting than the average character in my opinion. Anyway Super Robot War, as an outsider to this conversation you're getting trolled, falling for it continually, and looking less and less intelligent in your plight to argue why talbain is awesome. My advice, just let it go; I'm sure most people get that you prefer wolves... On some semblance of topic Really happy tron bonne made it into the game, however, I'm feeling (given the relatively small roster) there are a lot of copy and paste characters...

I love VS, I had bought D3 for PS1 and used to mess around a lot with Lilith and Victor on pad, but never had anyone to play. I had never heard of GGPO until a couple weeks ago, but I hadn't been able to look into it yet (it's online play right?) But when I saw Jesse had it at the arcade I started playing it again.

Its just how many of what character qualified for SBO listed out so its easier to see. I guess in a way its a rating, shows who is getting the most play time

I'm in Northern KY and I think there is a scene (fighting at least) nearby. I started going to Arcade Legacy in Ohio (20-30 min drive) and I think they have tournaments and crap going on there. I just need to get myself trained up since I don't want to piss off better players with my scrubbiness, especially GG since I'm pretty damn rusty and my BBCS needs work. I'm relatively new to playing stick too so that doesn't help either. But I'm glad to see GG still has active scenes

Haha I guess you are right, the main reason I've probably heard it's "balanced" is due to the arcana themselves causing such varied gameplay for each character; want your grappler to have projectiles pick Love, or want your rushdown queen to have a command throw go for Water, etc. etc. I'll merely have to wait and play the game myself once the console release comes around; seeing as an arcade with AH3 is nowhere near me as far as I know.

Is AH3 actually as balanced as I hear? I know with the ability to choose arcana always can drastically change a match, but overall just evaluating character match-ups.
