  1. Hey Shin, I've got a quick question. I vaguely remember talking with some people about Final Round last year, and there being mention that button mapping/shortcuts wasn't allowed. I looked over the Rules, and the closest thing I could find was the ban on turbo buttons. To be clear, what I'm talking about is setting things like A+B to L2, or A+B+C to R2. So is what I remember legit, or was it a misunderstanding on the party I talked with?

EDIT: Oh, one more thing. I noticed that one of the rules is "No Wireless Controllers." Does that mean wireless controllers, charging cable or not, are not allowed? Or does that mean no wireless controllers without the charging cable? If it's the former, that needs to be made much clearer, because for us pad players that would mean no first-party controllers.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but that kind of button mapping is fine. I remember seeing lots of players setting their pad/stick's button combinations however they liked. Hell, quite a few people in Marvel map LMHS to 1 button so they don't get advancing guards before the XF guard cancel.

I have no idea about the wireless controller thing though.

  2. That's right folks we have added Soul Cailbur V to the official roster of games to be played at FR15. Online Registration here:

for SC5 and TTTHD are now live! With only 4 months until FINAL ROUND XV we have more news coming up in the up coming weeks leading up to the event. Please keep and eye out for more teaser trailers and info for the longest running tournament/event on the East Coast. March will be here before you know it people! Hype!!!!!!!!!!

Best news of the week. Can't wait.

  3. That's a pretty stupid thing to say considering they play nothing alike, have completely different leveling systems that offer completely different advantages.

Man those trailers put me in such a good mood and then this wall of dumb in the thread.

Did you actually watch Seth Killian's overview of the character, or did you come in here to bash on people's opinions? In the video, he was trying to level up so many times that it was annoying. The whole time, I was thinking, "Wow, this better be worth it if it takes this long." Then, once he FINALLY got all four levels, it looked pretty underwhelming.

Sorry that my opinions didn't match yours.

    EDIT

In an actual match, two pictures were taken resulting in two level ups. Not sure what the odds are of leveling up or if there are certain conditions met. Nonetheless, if it averages to be that fast, then it is worth it.

  4. I haven't posted in forever and can blame 3S:OE for that.

Anyway, Hugo has a throw that instantly carries the opponent to the corner (not just the edge of the current position), which I thought was a smart move for a grappler. I guess Tager's combos that end in 2D do something similar, but it's not as effective. By the looks of it though, Tager is getting a huge overhaul in Extend. Let's hope it's all for the better.

  5. Possible Tager changes from recent loc test...

http://i.imgur.com/SR6M3.jpg Just posted by Ushi. He's inside.

    Tager:

    [-> + A]

    The magnet pull's been weakened,

and the super armor's been strengthened

    [spark Bolt]

On a normal hit, the bounce back from a wall is now smaller

    [Voltic Charge]

Raise rate of the gauge is faster.

If you guard a foe's attack with his armor, you can follow it up with a counter with Sledge Hammer.

    [b Sledge Hammer]

    Now chargeable.

The 6A change sounds good, especially if the armor comes out faster.

    Spark bolt change. Meh.

Voltic Charge increased rate sounds good. The other part sounds gimmicky. Seeing it in action will clear a lot up.

B Sledge chargeable? Confused on this one.

    EDIT

Damn you Axis for beating me to it.

  6. So, here's a little snip of me doing Tager things in a huge, three-day tournament that was in TN last month. Forewarning, I was in Marvel mode since I had played it all day the day before (while placing 4th out of 80-something people), and I was sleep deprived. I don't usually play this bad, not breaking purple grabs, botching inputs, missing opportunities, etc. Axis can back me up on that. lol

I linked the hypest part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K6ZsXDn6KE&feature=player_profilepage#t=321s

  7. As a 100% pad player in all fighting games, I can vouch for Tager use on pad. It's not bad at all. They're efficient enough to IB 720, 2B whiff 720, etc. Really fancy stuff like Voltic Charge cancelling and standing 720s is much harder on pad though.

In my experience, fightpads are awful. Like Osuna said, their buttons are spaced out in a strange way. On top of that, the huge pads are awkward. I prefer the original 360/PS3 pad over any fightpad.

  8. Hey, I was nice enough to say the image was godlike

And I thank you for that.

Discussion still has merit. Tager has a very hard time staying on top of people, so I don't wait around alot, get in and get to it.

I really have no response to this. I just wanted to quote it so it didn't look like I was trying to kiss Dacid's ass...
