    Ok, thanks. I'll give it a try when I get home. Someone else suggested that the superjump silhouette doesn't always appear and the frame advantage is single digit. Maybe that's why it "looks" right but isn't. They also suggested that there should be a slight pause between jA to jC and to not use jA jB jC version. Perfect. That's exactly right. The information about delaying the jA ~ jC is um... well, I don't think that's true at all. The 5b 5c 2c 623A beginning..... doesn't matter if you TK that or not, but the land, 6239A MUST be TK'd and the superjump silhouette does NOT appear. I was getting some combos from the MeltyBread Google Cache, but I think they took down all the Fate/Unlimited Codes sections and they're not showing up in Google Cache anymore? Any alternate suggestions? http://fuc.wikidot.com is my current resource and it's.... meh.

    To be honest, I just recently picked this up after Frosty Faustings and can't stop playing it. Basara X and Soul Calibur 3 AE haven't been in my machine since I bought this. I wish something emulated 246 so I could play some live matches. It's just me against the computer.... Hey, if you guys can help me out... In this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eGStn_6UMs There's a link with Saber that I'm sucking at.... and it's listed in every one of the combo guides I can find as a pretty vanilla combo.... jC -> 623A. I can't get this to link with air-to-air jC or the 5b 5c 2c 623A jA jC start. Do I delay the jC at a certain height? I can't tell if I'm doing it too fast or too slow, but the 623a usually whiffs through their invincible recovery. I was also curious about the TK inputs. Looks like I can TK damn near every move for every character and I'll see the Super-Jump silhouette appear, but the move looks identical to the normal version. Even stuff like Saber's 214A gets a silhouette. The moves (at least the moves for Saber and Sakura) don't seem to get any reduced startup or anything so.... wtf... visual glitch or does it do something for these characters?

    I haven't played this on arcade before and recently picked it up after watching two guys play it at the Rosemont Anime convention last year and also at Frosty Faustings. It was the same dudes, so if you're the guys - sup, guys! In single player, I was able to fight against Sakura but she isn't on the character select screen. Was she in the arcade version as a playable character? On some games, the operator had to enter something into the TEST menus to unlock characters - anyone know if I can unlock her that way? Google isn't really helping me here.....

  8. While the suggestion that no ping != no connect is true.... most of this is fundamentally incorrect. You would ping an interface. Not a host behind NAT. In other words, the ICMP request would generally be answered (or ignored) at the DSL/Cable/T1/dialup/whatever interface. The special exception here is DMZ where you would forward all traffic to an internal host, as you mentioned. Some routers may allow rules to forward ICMP - but that is not the standard. Many carriers will ignore ICMP as a historical practice to reduce the usage of it in DDoS and that's where you get the timeouts. It has absolutely nothing to do with firewalls on the local network. As for VPNs - there are quite a few reasons you would actually REDUCE latency when using one. They are generally special cases - you absolutely cannot declare VPN = OMGLAG!!111 Example - Many providers are using traffic shaping rules and will generally route "common" traffic more efficiently than obscure ports. Especially if those ports fall into the range of torrents, etc - the hosts are more likely to throw these through additional rules and even assign them different link weights. If Hamachi is using a standard port then all traffic going through Hamachi is subject to the same traffic shaping regardless of port and actual destination.
  9. If I open nullDC up with hosting enabled... it eventually just times out with connect() failed. Even if no one tries to connect. What's up with that? It's kind of misleading and annoying to have to keep restarting nullDC while waiting for the opponent. If I change the game assignments from the NAOMI test menu - does that sync to the other player? I wouldn't mind playing 3 of 5, but I don't want to cause a desync or some bizarre behavior if it doesn't sync to the opponent. Also - Dear North America, Everyone ready-to-play isn't from the U.S. Represent, damnit. I've managed to play 3 people in the 40+ hours I idled on IRC.

    I was just talking to my wife the other day about Hsien-Ko and how they just kinda dropped a cool character that I really enjoyed. I nearly bought VS and Gem Fighter just to fight with her again.... ... and now she lives! She lives! But I can't call her Rei-Rei... that makes me think of Johnny Knoxville for some reason and ruins the whole gig.

    I'm so glad someone else called that out... I was really tempted. Edit - Or nine people, whatever. Fast swarm is fast. I was also a bit lost on the references to footsies, hit confirm, reversals and wake up - but no mention of recovery, recovery trapping, oki, gatling, RCs, IB, Barrier, CAs, etc. Is that partly ripped from a SRK thread? The language seems strictly SFish.
  12. Outside of AC Online, I'd really like to know more about this or any other gameplay differences between the NAOMI versions of the game and PS2.
  13. Hey, at least you guys have AH2.... all I can boot up is AH1... Have you ever seen the arcade PCB for that thing? Components are mounted backwards...... I'm not joking. It's 31K only and you have to sacrifice small animals to get the thing to boot up on the monitor within 3 tries.
  14. I think blade is missing a PS3 controller in addition to the items ElvenShadow mentions as MIA. It would be especially cool to hear that stuff returned. It's pretty common for people to get a little hype and accidentally pick up stuff that isn't theirs so... if you did accidentally something... send it back!
  15. For certain titles.... it's damn near more cost efficient to just get the arcade hardware. AH3 especially so - you don't even need a cabinet. The Examu hardware connects to standard USB controllers and a normal monitor. Any console exclusives for AH3? Other than the fan service in the side bars....
