  1. Seems to me that they're trying to follow the growing minimalist trend in fighting game HUDs that we're seeing in recent games (just look at SFV and MKX and compare them to SFIV and MK9). That said, the HUD could use a bit more work when it comes to things like the labels and general layout of some of the elements.

    It makes me wonder why the heck they took out the options to make the controls more like traditional 2D fighters in the demo. IMO, keeping them in would have helped make folks used to those feel more comfortable with the game.

    Yeah, misread jed's post (foruming from work FTL). Also, I don't think color edit is really worth the trouble, especially if they're going the MvC:O route where the game is basically an emulator that uses cheats to add the other modes. EDIT: Just noticed that this has been posted on SRK's front page. Time to prepare for all the trolling thanks to the mention of "E-sports".

  10. OG Darkstalkers art was pretty "steroidal" anyhow, so people shouldn't worry too much, even the girls were pretty ripped in Bengus' original illustrations.

The same team that was going to make MvC3 into TvC2 until Fanatiq said "HOLD DAT" and told them exactly how MAHVELL should be played? Besides, Dimps has a pretty decent track record as long as Capcom Japan isn't meddling (Ruble Fish series is pretty decent). Also, compared to 8ing, they do have better features in their current fighters. Online training mode, button config on the select screen, hold start to pause and off course, the only implementation of rollback netcode in a non sprite-based fighter (at least, before the casuals ruined it). Wasn't it because barely any serious players went to the loketest and instead we got fangirls doing shipping battles?
  13. You know, DS' original art style (by Bengus) would actually fit in using with the exaggerated proportions used in SFIV. In any case SFIV itself was an attempt to copy some of the exaggerated proportions of early SFII art, before Bengus went all "animu" with the Alpha series. Capcom females had oversized "man hands" as far back as 1994.
