Aren't Valk's/Tao's backdashes only that good because they're simply faster than most other backdashes? The actual invulnerable window for Tao's is only 2 frames more than the average, and Valk's is the average. I don't even see anything different in the data about Relius' backdash.

I still have nightmares about input delay screwing with drive cancel timing.

Toan's is actually different. Most of the other netplay Lambdas seem to be fans of Pisces Albafica.

Oh yeah, Toan you were really testing my defense there, good stuff. Some of those rounds I felt that if I pressed any buttons at midscreen that I would be screwed, that's pretty awesome. I don't usually feel that way against Lambda, I had to be a lot more careful than I usually am.

I personally don't even try to challenge j.2C (unless it's just starting up), I try to move around to make it whiff, and then be in the right place to whiff punish it.

Look at my previous post. People don't play BB that much in Toronto right now but it's still possible to get online games in, might change when BBCP comes out.

Just saw your post on the Toronto boards. A&C World sometimes has BB on Monday and Friday afternoon/evening. You might want to try there to play offline.

Why hit Makoto's DP when you can slide under it?

Zoning is completely legitimate if you're using a character that emphasizes it. It's just like if you're using Hakumen, why not stall for some stars? If you're using Tao, why not fly all over the screen? If you're using Carl, why not use sandwiches? (yes I know there's specific matchup related answers to all of these) Same kind of deal here. You play to your character's strengths, and to your own strengths. If you fare better with zoning and keep away, more power to you.

Yeah IOH j.A was hitting me a good bit. That and lobelias. I still did pretty well, but for some reason Rachel gives me the hardest time of all the characters in the game. Leaves me in blockstun for 75% of the round or doesn't let me get in at all. Good games to everyone I played tonight.

There's nothing that says you can't, you just had to ask for an invite. Edit: Yeah, I'm really weak against Rachel. I can't wrap my head around the neutral game in that matchup.

Well the main thing is that what is react-able to changes because the delay isn't there. Some tactics that seemed 100% solid online become risks if you're playing offline against somebody with good reactions. Defense itself is way more possible without the delay being there. Also, if the TV you're using at home is laggier than an evo monitor they use at a tournament. You end up getting really surprised how much time you actually have for some combos, and how the timing actually changes a fair bit, then you need several matches to adjust. Not being able to hear audio is also kind of crappy, a lot of us rely on sound cues more than we think. Things like neutral game, frame traps, and certain mixups would definitely carry over.

Owner has the largest bag of subs and gimmicks I've ever seen. Couple that with good reading ability and you have a really scary player. Why he's not out winning majors is beyond me.
