  1. But are the same as the ones you would use midscreen? corner D Garu seems weird for me. Also, didn't some guy said they had a japanese method of doing garu loops on everybody and that was easier than the current one?

By "current one" do you mean the [9~2] loops or do you mean the method posted on the front page? The ones posted on the front page are considered to be the easiest methods and are doable in the corner. The [9~2] method, however, needs to be pulled back to 1 at the last second to work half the time. I might make a video concerning this, but I've been busy with school and haven't been able to play at all.

  2. I just 100% killed a Naoto with j.D Garu > (2A > 5B > Sweep > D. Garu)x2 > 2A > 5B > 5C > 2C > B. Bufu > Mind Charge > AOA > OMC > COFFINZ. Sent me a message about no skill required to play Elizabeth. I giggled.

Also the j.D Garu starter was in the corner. The 2A > 5B after the D. Garus can connect if you learned to do the [9~2] Garu loops before we discovered the easier methods, just pull back to 1 instead of 2 and you'll back up enough for the 5B to connect coming back, too. Also you MUST pull back because if you sweep wrong the opponent can also go over your head. But still. 8.2k damage.

  3. So I was dicking around in training mode, and I was thinking about ending some midscreen combos in B.Bufu > Sb.Agi > Dia. Is it even worth it to stuck dia at the end of combos? From what I could tell, you gain so little health back, in addition to having to give up health to special cancel agi into dia. Dia kinda seems sucky in that regard.

Keep in mind that it's 1500 HP you gain in awakened mode. In awakened mode you take only about 62.5% or so damage. So for 50 meter, which is relatively easy for Elizabeth to get, she gets much more survivability. And she'll mathematically have more HP than someone with the 9500 average HP. So it's pretty good.

  4. now i got a question does it need to start off with a counter hit to do this?

It pretty much depends on what you do before the whole combo and how you decide to finish. Like stated above, just go into training mode and practice with CH and non-CH and see what connects. Use every possible combo and setup you think you'll use and figure out the extend of the combo you can do.

Usually if you're unsure you can almost always do at least 1 D.Garu on normal thanatos grab and an opponent hit in the air with 5B. SB.Garu > D.Garu will land on normal hit as long as you don't do something like 2A > 5AA > 5B > Sweep. The 2A > 5B catch at the end of the D.Garu might be harder to connect so a 5A > 5C would be safer on normal hit.

  5. Try inputting 9A+C 56 for the turn around IAD. You'll turn around by the time you put the stick back at neutral and it still counts as a dash input.

That's what I've been doing. My inputs have always been pretty sloppy so I am just not timing it right sometimes, plus I want to do it quickly so that there's no openings in it. I'm sure with some practice I'll get it down, though. It's just weird because the only time I've buffered a forward and then button press forward again input was like back in guilty gear to do airdash roman cancel combos. And i was bad at those too!

  6. Sorry if this is the wrong place to bring this up, or if I'm the only one who needs to bring this up, but I'm having a lot of trouble consistently get j.A > B > j.A > B > C to consistently connect from 5D and AOA-C. I really want to be more accurate on this. Opponent always seems to fall away from me after I connect the first B. Should I jump more towards them or straight up or should I just lock myself in a basement until I get it right

Wait for the person you're hitting you come back with the j.B, as it is two parts, and then jump immediately.

  7. Ryo if you need any help with the thread I can take care of it for ya if you want.

It was TD and your idea though so it's your call.

I don't really mind if you want to take control of the thread. Since you made all the other important threads in this forum if you remade it into something much more streamlined for this forum it would make more sense than me putting together whatever I think would be good.

I just wanted that kind of thread around so that people could discuss those kinds of things about Elizabeth because I feel like with such a momentum heavy character setups, gimmicks, resets, and such things are essential to good play.

When I was playing Arakune back in BB I could look at the forums and see all the combos no problem, but when it came down to reseting and gimmicking people I had to sift through a lot of data in order to figure out what to do. Things from videos and so forth, and it made my learning experience progress much slower. I feel Elizabeth is the same way, so it is really important to have that information accessable.

If you remade the thread it would most definitely be much better than what I could put together.

  8. i guess i can make a few more quick vids later for the other routes combo routes/char specific stuff when i get home

I actually have a capture card so I can post up my method as well, seeing as how I'm not going to be doing much without xbox live gold besides sitting in the lab. But tomorrow, because turns out I have things to do today. I also need to reformat the thread about gimmicks and resets and such.

  9. What was turnout for SF4/Marvel, in comparison?

It was only a P4U tournament. It was sponsored by Atlas so there was some nice stuff there, though. It wasn't Wednesday Night Fights, it was just a P4U levelup tournament.

    Yea, no rush.

The thread may have to be remade though because you're gonna need more than one post for all the hefty information that can go there.

Yeah I will get to work on putting it down so I can at least have a template to copy and paste if we remake the thread.

  10. They're more like tech traps.

I love any contributions that you guys can find though. If you're gonna make it easier for people who want the raw gimmick data, you may want to make it a little easier to read. This is an example of what I mean.

I'll fix up the thread into a much easier to read format once I get some sleep. Just got back from the levelup event down here in SoCal. Turnout wasn't bad, like 90 people. Though I placed badly since I haven't actually played more than 10 matches against real people that aren't CPU or training dummies. But yeah I'll fix it up tomorrow.

  11. I don't believe it's completely necessary since I already this stuff in the data thread.

The good thing about creating that thread is that it allows for discussion and stuff though, but it's nothing that cannot be discussed in the general thread as well. I'll see how it goes, but don't count on me.

The stuff in the data thread is more like frame traps and things that while do fall under the category of oki I don't think it'll really fall into the gimmick area. And then on top of that the general thread can be cluttered with more than just oki or gimmicks and might be hard to go through for someone who just wants raw data on what to really do without having to read about general elizabeth things.

I can see what you're saying though and lets just see if any discussion sparks from the thread at all. Since discussion is good for character development no matter what.

  12. Yooo Mcfoong, I would like some more of your Elizabeth experience. Once my new arcade stick comes into the mail next week. Since my cat chewed up the wire to my arcade stick yesterday. Pad/analog ftl!

Lol but my Elizabeth is ass! Also I was running off a 48 hour xbox live gold card so that ran out. I'll probably get xbl gold within like a week. My arcade stick kinda sucks too because my dog likes to sit on it, I dunno how that screwed it up but one of the buttons needs to be hit hard. Lol.

Toss me a friend request and we can throw some lobbies together when I do get gold, though. Make a West Coast (Freshest coast) lobby and shit.

  13. its alot easier on chars that dont require [9~2] from what ive tested

My bad. About 90% of my questions are concerning Yu type difficulty and onwards, since that and Chie are the only dummy types I practice on. The other character Garu loops are easy enough I don't really ask.

But yeah it just seems like I catch the opponent's character like a frame before they hit the ground if I do the crossup version of the garu. Instead of a couple frames to spare like I normally have with the regular garus.

  14. i can do it on [9~2] somewhat consistently against 2+ delay netplayers, and i cant even get past the 2nd loop chie so fuck that bitch =/

Yeah I can do the [9~2] pretty confidently now twice in a row against just about everyone except Chie. Just more than 2 is just daunting, more than anything. I'm sure if I went into the lab for a little I'd get it down, though. But using a burst isn't something I like to do anyways, since Liz's damage is already crazy, lol.

On a side note, have you been trying to do the [9~3] Crossup type d.Garu so you can switch sides if you catch yourself in a corner. I feel like the timing on that one is much harder, I dunno.

Obviously using the special garu is much easier to cross up switch with, but I'm talking about just the plain Sweep > d.garu we all do.
