    [CS1] Rachel Video Discussion

Double post...? *facepalms* Anyways, IMO, the Rachel was playing pretty badly, what with that burst in the first 15 secs of the first round just to escape the first combo Tager got to land.

No. That results in a purple throw, and purple throws are bad, plus it's a waste of 50 Heat. You should be doing something like IAD>airthrow like you're predicting that they'll jump---in other words, doing it off prediction/reaction, whatever works for you, and if you do it right, it gives you free 2k damage to hit with. If you don't know what an IAD is, it means Instant Air Dash, and it's done by hitting 96 (up-forward,forward). Make sure you let your stick go back to 5 (neutral) first so you have guaranteed execution. So really, the command would look something like this: 9,5,6.

Is it okay to say I lol'd hard at the end of the 4th round where Rachel was all "FUCK YOUR TROLL TATICS" and busted out a blue-heat 42-hit combo to win by time-over? >_>;; Yeah, but seriously, I got the feeling Shadow was laughing at Matsu's attempts to win with Rachel and so was playing for time-overs. >_>

With this, I expect a jump by at least one tier. ... *sigh* The main problem is landing the combos on a competitive opponent consistently, and being able to deal that kind of damage in all situations. Damage output doesn't necessarily mean much without these 2 factors in play. And I believe Fatal Counters don't add positive proration, just 2F of untechable time, but then again, the System Guide hasn't confirmed whether the positive proration is also applied on FCs, so eh.

    Jumping barrier block

A: Make them waste their barrier while they hold up-back. B: Annoy them by spamming Barrier jump while they spam Barrier jump. C: Barrier Burst to destroy their barrier (not recommended for obvious reasons) D: Corner them so that you're free to do whatever you want to make them waste Barrier E: Deal with it. F: None of the above.

I wanted to facepalm hard when I saw that Rachel attempt to win by time-over. >_> I like the idea of using pumpkin to bring the Bang in closer, though.

It has to do with 50% mindgames and 50% being the fact that he carries a 'fear aura' around him because of his popularity. (my guess anyway, ignore as needed) But there's a reason why he does 5A/2A>throw. 5A/2A recovers fast on block, making them useful as a tick throw. If you don't know what a tick throw is, it's basically throwing after a opponent recovers from a blocked attack.

This is actually nothing new. 5C has a proration of 100% as a starting hit, hence why it does more damage if you leave 5B out in a combo. It's just that you don't use 5C to hit-confirm your combos, as on block, unless you cancel into something else, you're looking at -21 recov. frames. 623D is used as a combo ender simply because of the life drain, and there's no reason to use 623C as an ender because it's not worth the extra damage.

Nah. You Dash Cancel 6C, then JCC Black Onslaught. You Jump Cancel Cancel by Tiger Kneeing the Black Onslaught input (Sagat TK in SSF2T was something like 2369/412369, the idea is the same here) IMO, the easiest combo for me to do is 5C>3C>Black Onslaught, because JCCing the 3C works best for me and it's easy to hit-confirm into. If you're not used to 3-frame windows, though, it's more risky than useful (you literally have to do it before their feet even leave the ground, but AFTER 3C sweeps them).

    [CT] Ragna vs Jin

IIRC, Musou/Ice Car B/C/D have like -7 recov. frames on block. So it shouldn't need to be such a problem to punish a Ice Car Jin, especially if you play with someone who spams Ice Car. And there is a reason why Barrier Block is best used in spares rather than extensively. Just saying.
  13. I doubt they really keep a track of arcade locations with CS in them in USA, as all of them are imported from Japan.

I wonder why you'd even want to RC ID in a combo in the first place. Like everyone has said, yes, you can just BE in a combo without having to spend 50 Heat to do it. Yes, there are better uses for 50 Heat (22C loops come to mind). ...

    [CT] Carl Clover Tactical Discussion/Questions/Help

You're looking at maybe 55-[insert maximum higher than 149]$ in cash money. 55 is for the person who's a cheap bastard and always looks for low prices on everything (eBay). 149 is for the person who doesn't mind looking through the acessories section of the nearest Gamestop more than once to make absolutely sure there is a fightstick he didn't miss and doesn't mind shelling out cash to get it w/o bartering with sellers on eBay. Modding a stick to get custom art/buttons/etc would bump the prices up by about 100 for parts, and depends entirely on whether you're willing to void your warranty to mod your stick so it's tailor-made to your own liking, and how easy/hard it is to mod that particular stick. Honestly, this is just what I know about sticks, which is very little and based on local talk about sticks, so take it with a grain of salt.

[CS1] Tsubaki Yayoi - General Discussion

I dunno about you, but a person whose best way of getting in at 1/2 screen distance is B Sledge/Barrier Superjump due to no forward dash/hop/command dash sounds slow to me. And if you wanna talk 'lots of damage if you don't play safe', look at Tager's highest damage output (CT) with magnetism. That's 2.5K more than his command grab super... On-topic: I was wondering about RC combos after 22A/B/C/D ender in Tsubaki's BnB. Would it be possible to RC Sword into a basic aircombo and end it with j.236C or is Sword JCable/DD-cancelable? (Doesn't look like it from the videos)
  17. Heh, I see. Glad to hear it. Honestly, I barely play Street Fighter 4 these days, yet I can't unsuck at this game for some reason. However, the only reason I'd play it over BB is for the better offline comp I have right now, SF4 doesn't do it for me anymore. So how's life?

  18. About last night: I wasn't playing you that day. I didn't plan on playing SF4 with anyone except my cousin on casuals, and I was just about to go to bed when you sent your invite. Cousin wanted to fight you, and I was against it at first, but then I pretty much went 'fuck it' and let him do what he wanted. Sorry for the confusion. How did you like fighting him, BTW?

#R How to do the Dustloop?

1: I didn't see your edit. 2: It's not smart to post as if you know what you're talking about when you don't. 3: I could swear it was called BR. Oh well. 4: You're taking it a bit too seriously there...the only GG I played was #R, and even I know it is called a Dustloop for a reason. I didn't mean anything by it. 5: JC?

#R How to do the Dustloop?

Long story short: You got the commands wrong (except for Bandit Revolver). It's called Dustloop for a reason.

#R How to do the Dustloop?

I didn't know Dustloop had only one Dust command in there. >_> ... That is so horribly wrong. I believe it was j.D, j.D, j.D, j.D, j.K, j.D, j.S, j.D, Bandit Revolver, Bandit Bringer according to the banner.
  23. Tager. I'm actually undecided, but I'd go with him if given the choice.
