    FUCK DOOM'S MISSION 9. PERIOD. So far I'm experimenting with.. (since the game lets you make 3 teams, why not!) Zero (Hadangeki) / Taskmaster (Parabolic Shot) / Tron (Gustaff Fire) --Tron fire extends Zero's ground chain long enough to full-charge just holding L. EZ modo. Task is just sort of "there" because I like him and provides solid options. Will have to put some actual time into Tron in the (likely) event I actually need to use her. Maybe I should lead with Taskmaster? *shrug* Wesker (Samurai Edge) / Dormammu (Dark Hole) / Hsien-ko (Pendulum) --Dorm is super easy/fun and with Wesker his BnB will always build a meter (and in the corner, can do a hand charge for style points). Wesker benefits from either character to keep the enemy popped up after an OTG 3H shot, and I feel disadvantaged leading with the other two. Hsien is pure character love. Ideally Dorm will be the meter hog. Spencer (Armor Piercer) / Hulk (Gamma Wave) / Dr Doom (HIDDEN MISSILEZ) --Spencer/Hulk pack a punch, Doom brings the missiles. Need to learn put in a few minutes to learn the flashier (read: OMG not super easy LMHS) Doom combos. Really though this one is open to scrapping; I just want a home for Spencer Now I want to netplay/go to a scene so I can get trashed by people who can actually block. I'm happy this game basically made me "learn" stick though. All the DPs and shit helped me break it in, finally. Now I'll go back to Blaz and realize I still can only do a 720 on a pad and cry.

    Hsien-ko / Hulk / Wesker still set in stone for me, though I need to get their BnBs and execution down something fierce. Other team slightly changed to Zero / Doom / Dormammu, but I feel maybe Doom + Dorm is redundant. Having more success with this lot at the moment though. At least Dorm is pretty simple. Still haven't hopped online for no better reason than "do everyone in Arcade first". Other likes so far: Morrigan I guess. Skrull might be not be bad if I stop mashing buttons whenever I use him I'm scared I might like Arthur once I try him.

    So far I'm rolling with... Hsien / Hulk / Wesker Hsien / Doom / Zero And doing the cheap shit with uber pendulum swap assist. So 3rds are the real leads. I expect to be punished for this if I face anyone who can mash buttons better than I can Liking the DHC synergy with what I've got, but the latter team is missing out on meterless OTG fun. *shrug*

    Death Penalty's position depends on the two buttons you use L+M = left L+H = middle M+H = right Relative to the screen, so you always use L+M if you wanna be left. Taskmaster's arrow super angle is changed in a similar manner. Surprisingly liking Skrull, Cap, and Wesker. Will have to make some combo of Hsien and Zero with that bunch and brainstorm some teams.

    Surprised the honkin' big 400 page guide also has frame data for Shuma and Jill. Very neat. About to sit down and take it for a ride.

    If only Tager's 2B was like Sentinel's crouching medium. I can dream. Hsien-ko pendulum assist looks nice, probably a good complement to throw super setups (unless you can't get thrown in blockstun? *shrug* No idea on this) or other shenanigans. Looking forward to rocking Zero/Hsien/(Dorm? Shuma?), though I like a very large part of the cast. Hsien-ko for life though
  9. Haven't touched pad since I got stick, but I haven't played in a month either so it's anybody's guess how stick will go heh. Again, just need to invest that time before the tourney happens.

    Yep, possible but impractical. Could followup lv1 (only?) in the corner if you RC, for completion's sake. I put together a little video a while ago for such situations but honestly only followed up on it once in a match. Difficult/distance dependent on characters with more distant knocked-down hitboxes (ie: Hakumen). I won't say it might be more common, but SoD being air-unblockable might lend just a bit of viability to lv2. Maybe Depends on how much damage can be milked out of it in CS2

    Haggar's Body Press super did quite a lot of damage when he hit Zero physically as opposed to just the shockwave like in his reveal trailer. Wonder if you can do something simple like Pipe bounce>BodyPress His punch mashy super I guess will require mashin' dem buttons. Lol flailing around with Phoenix.

    Duh. That's what I meant by the OTG hit. If that's all it does it seems like a waste of meter. Zero's Rekouha(sp?)/DEATH RAINBOW does this kind of thing much better than Body Press, for example. As far as combo>aircombo>OTG>super goes anyways. Though Haggar built a ton of halfway decent? meter in the combo leading up to it anyways so whatever I guess :X

    Hoping Haggar's body press super isn't really that horrible and it's just combo length making it suck. Maybe it does multiple hits with his body because just the OTG hit seemed like a waste of meter. Maybe he can go for TvC Polimar-style airthrow resets because combo into throw seems equally terrible. I don't wanna say "damage is too low" based off a sample trailer especially when I don't know shit either so... Haggar predates Zangief anyways I think, and in-universe I think they are supposed to have ripped off/improved each others' throws. So... yeah. (Note: no feelings either way on the character. My team's already set so whatever :3)

    5C>6C (and grounded 6C in general) only works on crouchers on normal hit. (edit: CH 5C>6C should still work). 3C>SoD works. Any short string ending in 5C can go into SoD also. From what little I know anyways.

    I would've thought Ara vs Lambda/Haku/Mu is pretty shitty for Ara, but I suppose curse damage output makes up for it.

    It's a small thing really but I get a little depressed when I watch the JP matches (well, any matches) and see, every once in a while, dropped instant j.2C/EGadget. I know we all drop it sometimes but really, virtually no reason to not just BGadget. Related note: Guess it might be a bit harder to break 4k in Fatals , even considering Shissho did a kind of watered down version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTRWXjblN8I#t=6m14s 3578 dmg, 42 heat in CS2, same thing does... 4058 dmg, 38 heat in CS1 (Gadget giving +5 heat makes heat difference kind of negligible) Best unmag'd versions on most characters in CS1 hit ~4.3k, 53-57 heat

    *Shrug* Not enough strictly metal-modified characters so I'll concede that genetics are probably fine and I'm dumb for thinking otherwise. Trish Phoenix Storm then. Everything else was just "I don't really know shit about comics" opinion and context clues (achievement icon/backgrounds). The latter isn't always helpful though (GARACTIC) edit @ below: No really in retrospect I think it was pretty dumb for me to exclude genetics. Just the METAL icon messing with my guess.

    "Copy This!" is the "spider and fly" achievement so I believe it might be Spidy vs Deadpool. Fly part doesnt make sense but costume similarities to the uninitiated... yeah maybe. Both wisecrackers as well. Big 3 is "Avengers Assemble!" so really it points to Cap/Thor/Ironman "Badds to the Bone"'s icon has METAL on it. Spencer is an obvious pick. Genetic modifications (Wesker) might not be enough to qualify. Morrigan Storm and (I guess confirmed?) Phoenix are the only femme flyers. Trish doesn't have a flight command to my knowledge (does Morr?) Civil War one is probably Cap vs Iron Man, maybe others (what other heroes were on either side? X-Men were mostly neutral right?) Duty and Deus might be Cap vs MODOK Fate of Two Worlds obviously Ryu/Morr/Chris vs Wolv/Iron/Hulk? Lot of overcentralizing achievements for some characters :/ Tron vs Zero could've been one, for example. Of course lolachievements.

    Dormammu Wolvie and Spidey themes aren't that bad. Iron Man's is pretty stupid though. War Machine's in MvC was much better. Most of it is trying to sound too... synth-y? I dunno, not a music expert. If there were non-vocal versions of 2's music I might listen to it. I WANNA TAKE U 4 A RIDE xN = Probably won't even notice the music that much in real gameplay except for maybe vocal themes.

    Ashura doesn't deal that damage on the initial hit though. Houtenjin, Fermata, Calamity Sword (6A doesn't have projectile autoguard anymore does it?), Shippu all do 2500+ by themselves (at least in CS1) so if 6A absorbed any of those (realistically just Houtenjin) that would say something. Saw Collider > 4D whiff > Gadget once or twice but might've just been for cool points.

    Logistically that seems kind of strange though to have one specific cancel pathway. Not that I'm complaining, it's great, just weird.
