  1. Fingers crossed there's some good news for Elphelt players.
  2. New characters and a balance patch? Can't wait to be disappointed by Potemkins "buffs" for a 3rd time in a row. Seriously though, I just hope they don't go too hard on my girl Elphelt, I think the last couple patches have put her in a good place and I don't think she needs anymore nerfing. The 20th can't come soon enough.
  3. Ottawa Thread 2016

I don't know man, last time Arcsys gave a character weapons we ended up with Elphelt.
  4. Ottawa Thread 2016

Lol that's actually astaroth from soul calibur, not potemkin. I mean since when did potemkin carry an axe?
  5. Ottawa Thread 2016

Lol, well I didn't think anyone used this thread anymore.
  6. Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters

Hey guys, Ottawa's having another tourney on the 26th, gonna be a big one so hopefully since there's more notice this time, y'all can come through. Lots of new blood in guilty gear and we'd like to get some game against MTL, anyway here're the deets: The Algonquin Video Game Club is partnering with Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo to host a qualifier for their Canada-wide Street Fighter V invitational tournament in April! For more information about EGLX, click here: http://eglx.ca/Super Gonq Battles is happening on March 26, 2015 on the 2nd floor of the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons at Algonquin College. The venue opens at noon for casuals and registration is on-site only. Please send a message if there are any delays in arrival. The event is open to all! We are running Super Smash Bros. Melee at noon, Guilty Gear Xrd (PS3) at 2PM, and Street Fighter V (PS4) at 4PM. Each tournament is 2-5 hours long. There is a one-time venue fee of $10 for tournament participants. Every tournament game requires a separate $10 entry fee that contributes to the tournament winnings. There are no fees to enter as a spectator or play casuals; feel free to bring your friends! You must bring your own controller. Side tournaments will occur on-site if there is interest (8 people and the necessary equipment). We are looking for volunteer set-ups (monitors and consoles). Participants that supply equipment get a $5 discount on their venue fee.
  7. I'm actually more excited for the return of "awe of she", then dizzy herself tbh. Does that make me a bad person?
  8. Nah, this is already more than I anticipated tbh. I was expecting just 4 at launch so I'm more than satisfied with 6 overall. I'm just hoping we won't have to wait till June to see gameplay of Raven and Kum.
  9. I was thinking the same thing, a balance patch would level the field a little, but we'd still be learning a brand new match-up(Jack-O) and figuring out applications for the new blitz mechanic. I mean, it's not like US had much of a shot against Japan anyway, but it does kind suck. Oh well, I'd much rather have an all japan top 8 than have to watch Xrd while I'm playing Revelator.
  10. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to get a gameplay walkthrough, least give us an idea of how she works. I mean we got gameplay of Elphelt and Sin like 3 months before Xrd launched so it's within the realms of possibility.

  12. Sorry, I've been out of the loop(and can't find anything on google), there's a new patch coming? Like a full blown balance patch? Or just minor tweaks here and there? EDIT: Unless this is the patch you were referring to: http://iplaywinner.com/news/2015/11/16/guilty-gear-xrd-revelator-ver103-announced.html
  13. [Xrd] Elphelt Gameplay Discussion "The True Best Girl"

No problem, glad I could help. Yea the IADs take some getting used to, but it'll come eventually, don't worry. One last thing, check out this series, https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLj34EySs1IeZ8GpjKW8R2T6dzI6B3GSuH they cover a lot of stuff that should help improve your fundamentals.
  14. [Xrd] Elphelt Gameplay Discussion "The True Best Girl"

Just for the record, there's a thread specifically for critique, it's this badboy right here: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/9867-xrd-elphelt-critique-thread-waifubros-training-center/ Now keep in mind I'm still relatively new to the character, so some of the stuff I say might be incorrect, but with that said, here're some tips. 1. Right out the gate ill tell you this, Bridal express isn't safe on block, so you should throw it out a lot less. Cancel f.S into 2.HS, or grenade, or IAD. There's really no reason to ever cancel it directly into BE. 2. You should use grenade and shotgun more, they're really strong tools 3. OS your throws(I'm going to assume that's why you did so many raw HSs), input your throw as 6.S+HS, that way if the throw doesn't hit the c.S will come out, which is substantially safer. 3. Use 5.K more, you barely throw out any lows, the overhead is never going to hit if you don't give them a reason to block low. 4. Cancel your 6.HS's, it gives you a lot of frame advantage on block, but only if you cancel it either into shotgun or grenade. 5. Practice instant air dashing, it's a very useful tool with her. 6. Watch some gameplay of other elphelts, check out the video I just added to the video thread, it's about 30 minutes of really solid elph play. Hope these tips help. EDIT: Lol, forgot to ask the question I came to ask. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LCF8gYSY48&t=6m39s LS does an IAD grenade toss, and he hits Marlin with the toss, I can't seem to get the toss to hit, it usually goes over the characters head. I can't tell if it's height, spacing, or timing dependent and was hoping to get some help.
