Hey guys, so brand new Ram player having issues understanding her neutral and shit. I'm not trying to be that lazy dude who asks to be spoon fed or anything, I've done my research(read the "new player banging his head" thread, studied a bunch of gameplay, practiced her trials), but it's just really overwhelming right now I'm not really sure where to start you feel me? I've been playing around with her, getting an idea for her normals and shit. Long story short, as a brand new player, what are the things I should be focusing on? Because I'm watching top players and I know a lot of the stuff they're doing is high level that I won't have to bother with for some time. So I just wanna know the main things I should start with to build a solid foundation for moving into the more complex stuff.

*sigh*.... what was their gameplan when they introduced that move? Because I'm getting the feeling they have no idea what the move is supposed to add to potemkins arsenal.

You can't really compare this to SF3, that literally only had 2 returning characters. Of the 17 characters in this game, 12 of them are returning characters, that triple the number of returning characters in the 3rd edition of SF3. The situations aren't even slightly similar. I'm sure the game is doing fine, GG has always been a niche title so it selling less than persona arena doesn't really mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.

Certain combos and specific gameplay techniques might not carry over from one version to the next, but the overall playstyle of your character probably will(unless you play Ram of course). I'm still practicing this version, especially since only God knows when this patch will hit NA, I'm already 17 years behind some of these guys, not about to fall further behind.

I don't mind them taking their time releasing the patch on consoles, potemkins bottom tier but I'm still so bad at the game that his position on the tier list doesn't really matter. I just hope the patch comes out before EVO, would hate to be playing an obsolete version of the game at EVO. Either way, can't wait to see what changes await potemkin this weekend.

So would potemkins 6K loops become easier? Cuz right now that shit is painful.

Yea I'm getting the hang of the 5k, 2S, 6K, hammerfall combo, I'm hitting it about 60% of the time in practice so it's slowly becoming second nature. Now I've started fiddling around with actual 6K corner combos, all I can say is this is going to take a while.....

I'm so used to my heavy attack being where dust is that for the first few days I'd always overhead whenever I wanted to heavy. I'm getting better though, cleaning up my habits and such.

Hey so I'm a brand spanking new GG player, I'm one of those "I always play the grappler" type people so I was gonna play potemkin no matter how good he was. However, one of my friends recommended that since I'm still learning GG, I should pick up someone easier, learn the games systems and such, before moving on to playing potemkin full time. It sounded like it made sense, however other than Sol and Chipp, I'm not sure what characters are considered "easy". The other characters I was interested in(but had no intention of playing till much later) are, Ram, I-No, and Elph, do any of those qualify because if they do I can just kill two birds with one stone. From the little I know though, Ram and I-No don't look easy to learn, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, that's my conundrum, figured I'd ask to see what others thought.

Yea she looks pretty cool. Can't wait for a gameplay breakdown in english, but more so than that I can't wait to see high level play featuring her so we can get an idea how some of these tools would play out in a real match.

I'm planning on maining Potemkin, and judging from what I've been hearing that's going to be an exercise in character loyalty. So since I'm planning on subbing her I'd rather if she wasn't bottom tier as well. Mind you, I have the worst luck when it comes to choosing mains. I think my 3 mains in Blazblue CT were Tager, Bang and Hakumen and they ended up being the bottom 3 characters in that version.

Yea I was just coming to post that. Glad to see potemin kicking some ass, the first batch of videos we got mostly featured him getting bodied.
