  3. Post and discuss any Relius changes from the loketests in this thread. Any wishlist/speculation is fine too. If I post anything incorrect, please let me know and I'll fix it. System Changes: -Gold bursts removed -Crush Trigger: Pressing A+B during certain attacks will cause a guard break if the opponent is not barrier guarding. Costs 25 heat. -Overdrive: Activated by pressing A+B+C+D. Grants character-specific abilities and may also increase damage. Duration is based on your current health (less health = longer duration) and freezes the clock while active. -Can now tech by holding a button instead of having to press it when able to tech. Relius' Overdrive: -Maxima Dance: IC recharges faster. Changes: -New Move: Gad Leis (41236B) -Changed Move: Id Naiads (can be done on the ground now) -New Move: Geara Lugia (22A/B/C) Loketest 1: -6B>6C gatling is gone. -Possible that 5B>3C>236C>214A>6C>214A>5C>JB>JB>j236C>214A blue beats at the end. -Geara Lugia: The A,B and C button determine the range where the attack happens. Slow startup. Supposedly hits low. Scissor-like attack that may act similar to Eddie's drills. -Gad Leis: Slow. Hits in front of Relius. About as long as 5D (possible typo; may have meant 6D). Sword/Swiss army knife looking attack. Two hits and vacuum effect similar to Valk's 6B. -No followups found yet for ground Id Naiads. -6C launches on ground hit. -214D trajectory may have changed. -IC costs roughly the same as in EX. -2D>Gad leis works. 5B>2C>2D1>6C>2D2>Gad leis does not work. -Gad Leis>2A/5A works. -Bel Rafino tracks opponents.     Is this confirmed? If it is, I think it could add a bit more of a strategic element to bursting. Eating an OD combo can't be good (especially from some characters), and if there's no obvious way to see them you'd have to consider when the opponent might go into OD and burst before it. And it could also make ODs used in combos that would not necessarily win you the round since the opponent might not expect it to be used earlier in a match, but then of course you run the risk of not having it when you could use it for an unburstable combo at low health, or even not having a burst of your own if you end up in a situation where you'd have wanted to burst. I can see the OD system leading to a bunch of new mind games.
  9. It seems like he got more buffs than nerfs with the first loketest, so I'm assuming they're just testing out what severe nerfs would do to him. Also if they want to change the entire flow of the game, it would make sense to take away some combo tools from everyone anyway. At the worst, I'd say he would just end up having to be played differently. In the end, I think he'll be fine, though I know I'm being very optimistic. Relius AND Amane? I can tell you have good taste in characters. :3

  13. Well the loketests aren't over yet, so we can always hope that some of the more questionable nerfs get removed for the final version. But the jB hitbox nerf just baffles me. Because we all know how powerful his other air normals are.

  17. I hope Gad Leis is about as plus on block as Valk's 6B. That will make resetting his pressure not as dependent on Ignis as it is right now. Both of his new moves look like they will have so much utility. I hope we see more of Geara Lugia in any upcoming vids, since we haven't seen it hit the opponent yet.
  18. I'm not all that upset about the loss of 6B>6C given the new moves we got, but that combo blue beating at the end is kind of concerning. I'm hoping it was just an error, but it's possible that jB might have less hitstun now and we'd have to use jC to go into j236C. Of course this is just speculation, but that would be far better than having that combo dropping from just scaling. Also do you guys want me to differentiate between what might be a nerf or buff with the changes, or should I just keep listing everything as is? lmao I was almost tempted to list it in the changes. It's no big deal though, because it is a change after all. :3
  19. Haha no worries. I was kinda excited about possibly getting a new super moreso than I was concerned about losing duo bios lol. And yeah, his pressure does need stronger mixup options to go with it. Against good players, I often have to use a ton of IC while taking risks just to get by their defense.
  20. If they took out duo bios, do we know what replaced it? It says he's still got a 236236D super, so he must have something new. I'm personally hoping for a super that refills Ignis' meter, but that seems unlikely. Also it will be gdlk if 41236B is a command grab.

With the loketests right around the corner, I'll be making a thread to keep track of the Relius loketest changes/discussion as soon as we start to see some info on him pile up so we can keep track of it easier. It's too bad the trailer didn't show us anything new with him, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough if he's got any new tricks up his sleeve. EDIT: We got two new special moves.

  23. I also use it every now and then in unblockable setups in the corner. xx > 4D > 3C > 214D > 3C (214D hits) It can be used to beat everything but delay tech and reversals. Just make sure you're at about the max range of the first 3C in order for it to beat roll techs properly.

    It's looking like P4U is finally gonna be the game that everyone plays. I know that everyone who plays BB is getting it, as well as most everyone who doesn't. The last time we all played something, it was late 2010 when we got the scene's feet on the ground.
