Tsubaki should be below Tager as well. I know this isn't a "post your tier list" thread, but looking at the Arcadia lists as well as the generally agreed upon changes, I think something along the lines of this looks about right:
S: Litchi > Bang >> Ragna
A: Arakune Carl Hakumen
B: Hazama Lambda Taokaka > Jin > Noel Tager >>> Tsubaki
C: Rachel
Discounting the sub-tier divisions, that's pretty much the March Arcadia tier list with Arakune in A instead of B.

A character can be S-tier without good reversal options (see: Dhalsim in ST). That said, I don't think Carl is S.
-
Buy AH1, use Pcsx2 to run it
-
The tutorial mode explains jump canceling.
-
His non-fever mode is worse than Rachel, that's why.

what does a characters combo rate determine? I never found that.... I would assume it has something to do with tech times. It's just another layer of proration.
If Tager had two 1000 damage attack with 100 p1 and p2 that could gattling (or link) into each other, he would do 1000 with the first hit at 400 with the second due to his character combo rate (40%). Arakune, on the other hand, would do 1000 and 1000 with the same attacks (100% ccr).

I think she'd be pretty willing to attack (and possibly even kill) Bang though, given that
his Nox can sever ties to the boundary. It's exactly what she wants; she just needs some assurance that it can be forced to pick her next.
-
What hold are you using? Picking a good one should eliminate most of those problems.
-
You need to 5DD > 236A > Throw more to condition them to jump, I think. Most people online are used to seeing 5DD > 236B, so they just sit and block low when they see one of the Parsers.
-
I disagree with the last two posters. You should play the character you want to play. Hazama might take you a while to get used to, but it's not like he's the hardest character in the game.
If at all possible, you should find (at least) one more new blazblue player to learn with (in person), however. It's much easier to pick things up in person than online.
-
Yes, that (jc) means "jump cancel".
-
Kamui, or at least I think that's how it's spelled. She was godlike in AH1 FULL (guard cancels always led to untechable knockdown, so long as you had a meter), but I don't know much about any characters' placement in AH3.
-
It's a matter of proration if you're doing dash -> 5a -> 6a. Every time you use a move that isn't 6A or TK Saber in the loop, you greatly reduce the number of repetitions you can do. Even 5B reduces the maximum by one, and that's the preferred non-6A option.

The balance patch is coming "about 6 months after release", as has been stated many times now.

I LOVE Dudders in 3S and SSFIV ( i think he made the best transition of the 3 3S members). So if Makoto is like that, i'll definitely be interested, does she have INSANE hit confirms too?6.5k meterless off of a confirmed parry. Have fun
-
Yes, it is.
-
That makes no sense at all, given that the battle voices are still Japanese. Not that Sony makes sense all the time though; look at the PS3's shrinking feature list. Oh well.
On topic, everything I have heard about how balanced AH3 is impresses me. I'd prefer if someone went ahead and ruined it for me, unless it's true.

The AH1 port wasn't bad at all, just ... lacking. No idea why Atlas decided to remove voice acting from the story.
-
Yesterday I was watching some AH3 stuff (yeah, of MAH Kira <3). I didn't remember her dealing THAT damage in the very first AH (never tried 2nd one lololol), but again, I suck using her (will keep on using her, even though my experience with grapplers is... uh, limited).Everybody does more damage in AH3... except Heart, who doesn't do damage at all. From what I've seen, every character can kill in 2-3 combos.
-
For reference, I found a Liseolette mirror (plus another few matches in the same tournament):
-
Is there an AH2 (PS2 port, only way of playing. :\) -> AH3 changelist? I wanna see if I can mess around with Nazuna/Heart in AH2 to get an idea of how to play with them in AH3.The AH2 port was (very) buggy, with major slowdowns among other things. I don't think it's worth practicing anything in.

Luck seems great with some characters. Dice setups can guarantee you full combos, because average combo damage is actually less than the explosion would do if they let it hit them instead. Given that the damage level in AH3 has been increased across the board, and that three full combos from any character seems to equal death, it's a good arcana at the very least.
I'll probably just keep playing Plant Yoriko though (the name got changed to Nature according to the wiki... the wiki is wrong). Seed unblockables are fun.

Most of those sound about right to me, except Tsubaki. Mu can make it very hard for Tsubaki to get charge while working on her serups, whereas Tsubaki can't do too much to keep Mu from setting up if she wants to build charge.
-
fixed, and Venom's a charge character? (only really used him in GGX)Yes, Venom has some charge specials - Stinger Aim and Carcass Raid.
edit: This is getting off-topic. The point (I assume) was that Blazblue has no charge characters currently. Playing Makoto seems like a decent solution, though she's not a traditional charge character.
Newbie... Tons of questions

1: Yes
2: There is no announced version of CS for PC. If it happens, it'll probably be at least a year. I brought a PS3 for fighting games (also linux support, but sony nuked that) .
3: Switch your blocking back and forth for high (4b, 4d, TK saber) / low (wheel, 2b, 3c) attacks. The portal super only hits mid though; it mostly just lets her do mixups.
4: Instant airdash works pretty well - input 956 or 754 on the ground, and you'll jump then immediately airdash. Other than that and ground dashes, just be patient and wait for holes to approach.
5: CS replaced the easy buttons with beginner mode (which is handicapped in several ways - no bursts for one)
6:
7: IDK
8: My guess is to be mash C exactly one time fewer than needed to start the Cx8 attack, then input a throw immediately. Because the throw input includes C and special moves trump throw inputs, you'll get C mash instead of a throw.
9: In CT, you take extra damage after you have burst, and can't kill with burst -> followup combo (they sit at 1hp till the combo ends, then they can die). Bursts are pretty bad in CT.
10: Varies by location. Evo (the largest fighting game tournament in the world; held in the US) uses PS3, however.
