I'll update when I got some more, but for now, from her tutorial mode, I know these are some of Makoto's new combos.

(Corner Only) 2A > 5CC > 6BC > D (Lvl. 3) > 2C > 214B~D (Lvl. 3) > 2C > 2D (Lvl. 3) > D (Lvl. 3) > 5B > 6A > j.C, j.B > dj.C, dj.B > j.623C~D (Lvl. 3)

(Air Grab) j.B+C > 2B > 6A > D (Lvl. 1) > 5B > 6A > j.C, j.B > dj.C, dj.B > j.623C~D (Lvl.3)

(Anti-Air Counter Hit) 6A > j.C, j.B > j.623C~D (Close to the ground, second hit whiffs as she comes down) > B > 6A > j.C, j.B > dj.C, dj.B > j.623C~D (Lvl.3)

(Corner to corner) 6BC > 214A~CCCCC (RC) > Dash 2C > 214B~D (Lvl. 3) > Dash 2C > 214A~D (Lvl. 3) > Dash 6A > D (Lvl. 3) > Dash 2C > 2D (Lvl. 3) > j.D (Lvl. 3) > Dash 236A~D (Lvl. 3) > D (Lvl. 3)

Well I was planning on dropping Mu-12 and picking up Noel, but after playing some of Makoto's challenges I think I might start using her instead.

I knew a little bit of her but the combos she has now are so much more smooth to do, and she feels overall a better character.

I played Makoto frequently, and to me, she is not overall better character because I did like her old play style and she has suffered a damage nerf. However, I do think the combos she has now look a lot better. I'll have to test out and see the possibilities she has now.

well to me it looks like she has more variety in her combos. Most people would be glad that she could have it but that's just me

I guess I'll just keep learning Noel and Makoto kind of as subs..

Really like them both lol. Do I get some kind of official badge or something now?

Random combo, probably not optimal, people have probably heard of it, but I'll post it anyway.

In (near) the corner:

5B > 5CC > 5D (lvl.3) > 2C > 2D (lvl.3) > 2C > 214B~D > 2C > 214B > j.B > dj.5D (lvl.3) > 2C > 214A~D > 632146D (lvl.3) > 236236D (lvl.2) > D (lvl.3) > D (lvl.3)

The particle flare at the end is optional, but good if you want to finish someone off.

How's her Parry now? It "spins" on hit now, right? Does that enable no meter combos off of it, or is it just to make Rapid combos easier?

Blegh, seems parry requires a 46 input in quick succession now so you can't buffer 4 while guarding and dash parry for free. tl;dr parrying requires a little bit of actual skill now. Random buff: 5D/2D/j.D all recover way quicker if you hold the button and never release. I bet once in a blue moon you can use this for a hilarious throw set up.

can anyone help me with this combo im having trouble with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmQbpK0Ne1w&feature=channel_video_title at (5 40) after the 214b J>D dash 236A>D I cant seem to land the 236A plz help

What I do is immediately hold 2 after j.D (L3) and buffer the 236 right before she lands. When she lands press and hold 6~A~D so that she dashes as soon as possible when landing and goes into 236A as soon as possible after the dash. Some tweaking and timing is required but that's the gist of it.

There are three tricks that make this easier:

1). After 214B, delay the jB as much as possible.

2). After the jB, jump cancel and start charging jD as soon as possible.

3). Start buffering 236A while you're still falling after the jD, so that when you land all you have to do is press 6 > A to get the dash 236A.

You want to land before they do so that you have time to get the move out. Increasing your height difference with respect to them will give you more time to connect with the orb.

Yeah, the more is the height difference between Makoto and the opponent at the moment she does delayed j.B > j.D the sooner she lands before the opponent does.

An other tip to make the 2366A easy, since the input is buffered in the last part of her fall, you can time it by even doing stuff like 236B6A, the orb will still come out properly. The reason for pressing B is just to get used to the rhythm since it has to be one fluid motion, it doesn't have to be rushed at all.

Thank you~, I seriously thought they made it so it only work when being attacked. :psyduck:

Also from watching Tsujikawa most recent matches I notice he was using new astral vision technology, turns out if you do dash then AV then the momentum from the dash carries over making you go further. Even just a micro dash works with it.

Is it just me... or is the normal throw garbage now? I can't find anything to cancel it with to combo.

Also, I miss 236a~d > 214b/c~d combos... and impact doesn't feel very... impacty D:

Follow up with 6A>5D(L3)>etc. in corner for brain dead 4~5k with oki. Otherwise you get pretty decent amount of +frames if they tech miscreen and can always go for a derp 3-way with dash under 2A or whatever you want to be creative with.

Oh wow that's pretty awesome. 214C by itself is like completely useless for me now but I'll have to experiment with this.

214C~D used to be a godly frame trap/faint into high/low/grab but the new one has recovery. :arg:

Also my midscreen CS1 alternative combo when I didn't feel like going for lighting arrows is amazing in this game as well.

I thought more people knew about this? I was using it a lot in CS1 to pick up a 2A > 5B > 5C~C > 6B > 5D(LV3) RC > DASH > Lightning Arrow combos when almost completely midscreen.

If I'd known this wasn't a normal thing people were using, I'd have posted about it. ^^;;

Yeah you should of. :P

2D(2) > RC > LA's and 5D(2) > RC > 2C > 2D(3) was better options back then so I wouldn't had known.
