[CS2] Ragna vs Taokaka

Recommended Posts

Yea, it hadn't happen yet so I figured I'd start them. Here we'll discuss the pros and cons of different ways to go into the fight against the character above. Note that there are few definite answer when fighting and the best we can do is try our hardest to make safe methods of gaining the competitive edge. Have fun and remember this thread if for the betterment of us all. So try to keep the trolling to a minimum.

Any advice for this matchup? It seems like she can just sort of fly around and do whatever she pleases, get in for free, and rush me down forever, really frustrating. I fought a good Tao player recently and I had devolved to spamming 6A in the hopes of hitting her out of the air. All of my air to air pokes get stuffed, and if I whiff something on the ground she just torpedo's towards me; making me afraid to do anything.

Like Tao, you can't really stay on the ground. It's kind of counter-intuitive to what you regularly do as a Ragna player, but you have to be as unpredictable as the Tao player. The last thing you want is to have her get the jump on you.

In short, to beat her is to random her out. It's really not the best way to solve anything, but fuck Tao.

EDIT: take my advice with a grain of salt because fuck tao

5A doesn't fail me too often as an anti air move, same with random 5D's. Don't bother chasing a Tao that tries to kite you since it won't lead to anything good.

I honestly have little else besides agreeing with "Out random"-ing Tao. If you land a hit on a Tao that can't burst, BK is always your friend here.

random 5D's.

It's funny but I was having immense trouble fighting a certain Tao player until I started throwing out 5D's, somewhat randomly I have to admit. Once he started baiting it, I had to be smarter but I think it covers just the right areas or something when she's flying all over you.

I've always had success with 6D on Tao's though, same as CT and CS1 it will avoid her 2A which I know Tao players love to use for getting out of pressure or starting their offense. If they aren't watching for it they get a smack in the face for huge damage.

Would it be completely useless to attempt to read -any- of her ridiculous cross-ups or approaches? Only thing I've been able to do is wait for the cross up in which she passes right through you to the other side and use ID. ._.

Seriously? You guys got nothing on this match?

Oh well..

-From my experience j.B works somewhat well. I got counter-hitted alot when using j.C...

-Dont try to ID alot during the crossup madness, you'll surely get baited next time

-Her loop is only possible if you get hit by these: (5B) 3C,(5B) 6A, 6C, CH 5D and most drives, throws.

So basically, watch for throws and try to not get stuffed by her drives. j.C will lose to a good timed drive.

-Be patient if you get caught in the crossup/mixup madness and block, but also try to react on whats coming next. Blocking all time will leave at disvantage.

-if she's out of range to start a Loop, watch for a possible incoming reset.

-Dont get frustrated, when you get her it's practically OVER AND OUT. Make sure she doesnt escape, please...
