Jam Vs Baiken

Recommended Posts

Starting a thread. Blocking the board is bad for Baiken and good for Jam, question is how to punish... You can 236S under the claw...that pulls you in. Baiken plays defensively so you can get a free charge or two. If they are blocking do not do the 6HS follow up to 5HS, do instead 6K (2 hits) into 2D. It may work better and you will not get countered hopefully.. Please correct me if I am wrong... 214K is good. 2S is good. When you are knocked down, and Baiken does the board move in the air, you can block low I believe... again please correct me if I am wrong. Once you have a few charges due to Baiken playing defensively, keep within dashing distance of 236S and watch for the claw. You can do that without charges. Basically you need to hit Baiken two times without burst to win. Baiken is really...light so be careful not to stick her to the wall too high. I would recommend shorter block strings or moves that causes minimum block stun and going for Counter Hits.

yep the aerial tatamis can be blocked low, but it leaves you on more block stun, and btw thought Baiken Play defensively, she's still quite fast and a melee character(that means she'll be near you all the times), charging out of nowhere might actualy kill you

Charging out of nowhere gives you the right of eating a free combo, depends on your ranging. If they are constantly close, then charging should NOT be on your mind.

What moves need jam for win this match?

What I need for beat a "happy guard cancel" baiken?

Moves with good recovery time, like 5 or 2p. I usually go for tick throws on a defensive Baiken, and when they throw out a 5S Parry it 5S them back, Ryujin. This match is best played, IMO, with good thinking. The match is usually moreover in your favor, depending on how you began your attack. In short. Play defensively, and as for a tip,:2S beats out Baiken's K on-guard everytime, not that many Baiken's will use it for anything other thing an anti-air HS in the air can save you from this though.

Also Baiken's body is light and her hitbox is quite small(even in hurt animation) You can also PB under the IA tatami's.

If this isn't much for now, i'll come back with more in a bit.

parry ^^ you can get lucky with 2HS against j.H but i wouldn´t recomend it...against j.S it works when they are airdashing in...i think 6P also worked... all in all i don´t think the matchup is any hard...the factor that sucks the most that i can´t get any good combos in besides FBball until tension runs out HSpuff aircombo...sucks, she floats out of cornerloop like 80%

I wouldn't try anuthing against Baiken's j.HS besides parry. If you try to air grab it, you'll get fucked in the ass.com. Jam's AA are not that strong to stand against such priority (at least if not timed perfectly). Try to parry, or just sit down and block. If you block it, it´s not a big deal, Baiken's best choices after it are 2+D or 2+K, c.S, TK yokusanzen. If she trys to dash in and throw, just sweep for a free combo. j.S is easier to AA with 2+S and 6+P (maybe a well timed far S will work too). It's also easier to air throw, but hachifus are not recommended since she can chain a j.S with random j.P's for a free combo if you just parry the first hit.

Ok, I have trouble with a "semi rushdown baiken" (50% defensive, guard cancels 50% offensive), so I use the 2S or 6P for her IAD JS and for the IAD or JH I use the parry, right?:yaaay: And the 2S beats her 2K, 6K and K?

Parry only if you're 100% sure you're gonna get it right. Baiken gets stupid damage (50-60%) from there with only 25% tension, and since the combo will end in a knockdown, missing that parry almost means losing the round.

OK I understand....

Thanks Hideki ;) ;) ;)

My last question...

2S beats all K of her?
