Dizzy vs Baiken

OK, now i agree with Kazuki rating 4.5/5.5 on Dizzy disadvantage :vbang: ... her j.p,j.s,j.d,iad tatami crush Dizzy aerial game realy bad, thought the spacing isn't as ugly as Johnny/Chip Matchup. Full Screen summon is an okay *duh*

the wisest choice is block, i need to figure it out if is it possible to punish blocked j.d with ice spike

blocked her s(non frc)/p_counter < anything(2hs/2d)

all of her jump in is sux. 2s rulezzz

a Fish on max range is okay, get one out and you'll life will be a LOT easier

Rush you down with iad and high priority aerial moves

Strategy

DON'T goes head on with her aerial play no matter how much u loves your j.p... she'll kill you, it's ok to block for more than 80 sec for scoring a knock down and killing her, her mix up is lame if i would say, watch your head more, u'll know if she wants to go low. just run and get the fish out

Char specific details

she wake up a tad late... not as late as Jam thought, adjust your timming

hardcore floater. aerial gattling need slight adjustment and an ice spike after throw will lose you a knock down on her :vbang:

ps: i think it's still possible to get knock down with the lowest possible ice spike hit after throw

her aerial spacing is ugly as hell, your attempt to get an air throw on her might be a bad idea on this match up

her 6k is throw invul ... lol

watch out with her tick throw games, as she can do 6p->throw WTF!!?, overdrive(RC)->throw well this is a lol but she kill me with it :vbang:

Knockdown control

alter the laser and k fish accordingly and don't forget the fact "Baiken was made to be throw"

this could just be me but 6P beats most of Maikens IAD strings except a far j.S. and full screen summons can lead to a counter hit IAD Matt......

Oh my god I hate playing against baiken (playing baiken herself is fun though :p)

If you're trying for a knockdown combo off a throw, use throw > dash > f.S > icespike. If you catch baiken at the right height with f.S you'll succeed with a knockdown, but otherwise it's pretty hard to time correctly all the time. You could also make use of the fact that baiken can tech to setup tech traps (eg. throw > f.S > 421), since scoring a knockdown against baiken isn't as powerful as against other characters because of her counters.

@fate : ch mat on full screen isn't possible unless the Baiken use running momentum on it otherwise the iad wouldn't reach the otherside of the screen @bizarro : yes she has guard cancel but she can't be reckless using it on Dizzy Oki, thought indeed isn't as powerful against most of the cast, but Baiken also got down realy easy once she get caught in combos note: dealing with her overdrives, if Dizzy can SB the 2nd hit, i think she can get a counter throw on her ... if the super is throw vulnerable :v:

Guess I'm the only one who likes going against Baiken, I find her to be easier than say a good INO or Slayer.

when your fighting Baiken on the Ground crushing her is quite simple with tick throws and fishes, cross over IAD are great but it depends how good the baiken player is at change inputs.

The only issue I have with Baiken Jump in is when they Zone you with j.s, Dizzy 2s can't beat that well not at range... F.s Trade so be warey of it.

i like fighting baiken. she's just.... annoying. random tactic: a jump in j.2S or low ad.2S will bait every counter.

Hi. I started to learning Dizzy seriously some time ago and i have questions about this matchup.

1. How to deal with ouren (H counter)? The problem is that i don't know how to punish it. My local Baiken player uses it to escape any fish setup. Dash throw don't work anymore)

She usually does it when I close to her or at midrange. So even with IB i can't hit her w/ 2P or 5K.

2. How to deal with her rush? IAD tatami/j.S is annoying. If i just run away, she goes after me and situation repeats. If i block it and she have 50%... well 50/50 mixup. Usually i score knockdown on her with random throws, DAA or random aggro

I found this matchup far more interesting than Ax vs Ba, though i don't know how to play it

1. Use p Fish on Oki and meaty her, the p fish will eat every counter she throw, when she stop Guard canceling u get your tick throw games back.

2. First you should work on your spacing, iad back + j.s is a very good tool, and will not lose to any of Baiken mid air approach, try to get the Bubble out, this will make her hesitate to recklessly rushing you down and give you time to set up, and can you explain, why she need 50% tension for 50/50 mix up?

I'm looking at your vid ... stooped at 5.40 ... I need to tell you Dizzy normal is suck! unless you know what you're doing, don't melee other character, get the fish out on any blow back, knock down and whenever your opponent loosing momentum, full screen laser fish summon is good, Dizzy don't need meaty attack as much as the other cast, you can dash in and poke on reaction while your opponent doing their reversal just to destroy your fish, if they didn't do anything, dash in and grab them, if they jump escape air grab them ... trying to meaty Baiken without fish protection is suicidal imo.

Also, some insight on this matchup that was found in the Baiken Matchups forum:

1. Set a fish

2. Dash in (NOT IN THE AIR. GEEZE!)

3. Abuse retarded throw range and mix up with lows to prevent jump outs. ( Don't forget to option select your throw, if you react on catching someone in the air with c.S and chain it to f.S you're gonna have a blast)

4. Train your reflexes so you can punish every counter (YES, REALLY)

5. Establish fear

6. BA: WAAAAAH
