MattyD315 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Hey guys, I've been playing Abyss mode as I find it quite entertaining. I know I still have light years to go before being as good as I want to be, but I've been doing alright. Perfects probably 70% of the time. But I've hit a road block at level 400. Unlimited Hakuman. I've played all the way up to him twice (68 victories leading to him each time) but he just shit stomps me. Now, I like playing the game but this shit is retarded. I play almost 70 matches consecutively to be raped and get a GAME OVER. Fuck. Anyone have any tips to keep me from smashing my face through the TV? I'm using Hazama, if that matters. Dazardz Report post Posted August 29, 2013 I know how you feel. I played Abyss mode for some time and almost always lost 90% health against Hakumen because he's too strong. 1. The CPU can read your inputs, it's gonna be harder than it should be. 2. Find something that the CPU is too stupid to adapt to. (I play Lambda, and after the enemy is knocked down, I just use Sickle Storm and the CPU ALMOST NEVER BLOCKS IT. Repeat. If they do block it, just hit them with a bunch of lows and they can't take the obvious mixup.) I don't really use Hazama, but the best option is to keep away and only approach when you know you have hit Hakumen, a counter hit should make that easy. But honestly, you'll have to keep trying until you find a pattern in the CPU, it can be obvious sometimes. I play around with Jin sometimes and I noticed something with Hakumen on hell difficulty. I just do the DP at the start of the round and Hakumen dashes into it and gets hit. I'll just play it a little again right now and see how I do against him, but the best option is to "run run run". And don't try and counter Hakumen with lows, he spams his overhead which is pretty much invulnerable to lows.
Kenrou.Horo Report post Posted August 29, 2013 You can skip him if you get one of those climber bonuses that takes you over 400... i forgot what theyre called.
NedDestros Report post Posted August 29, 2013 I dunno bout you but I find going into 214D stance and using the B attack to beat out whatever he's using to get at you. AI is pretty bad against DP spam, also if you wanna train in this situation you could set the difficulty to Hell and fight Unl. Hakumen in versus mode. Is what I do for fun a good amount of the time at worko on my vita :P
Kurushii Report post Posted August 29, 2013 You could save and try him again. Save on a match before him. I don't know how you do this on 360 but on PS3 when you are about to lose, quickly exit to the console menu (XMB for PS3) and quit the game. Load the game back up and your save will be available. Saves are only deleted in Abyss Mode when you lose.
Bibiquadium Report post Posted August 29, 2013 PS3 promotting rage quitters? No wonder.
MattyD315 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Yeah, I'm thinking I'll just have to practice practice practice against Unlimited Hakumen on Hell mode. His shit is just bonkers though, doing his TK overhead move, taking 35% of my health in one swoop. There is no way his stats are legit. And I'll have to keep the Stance~B in mind but I'm not sure how effective it'll be. I use it as anti-air against sloppy air dash happy opponents, but Hazamas range is awful when you subtract his Drive. And Hakumen is just... Well 3/4 screen pokes with obscene damage should sum that shit up hahah. It's just so mind numbing, and kind of discouraging. Oh, and I wasn't aware that saving during Abyss mode was even possible? Kurushii Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Every time you win a match it gives you the option to save. You have to press FN1 or FN2, I forget which but it says on screen on the bottom right hand corner.
MattyD315 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Ha! Wow WTF, I can't believe I've just been overlooking that all this time hahaha. Attention span -1.
Kurushii Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Once you get Unlimited option for Abyss, the mode becomes much easier with some characters. I ran it with Unlimited Stylish Mu.
MattyD315 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Oh nice, Unlimited is one of the upgrades you can pick up? That sounds promising. I usually only grab the heath regenerating ones. And also I refuse to buy shit at the start, seems like a waste of the money so I start 0000 no upgrades. And I don't have every single thing unlocked in the gallery yet. I'm only at level 16 and I have everything up to that point though. I only have like 2 or 3 more quick Arcade runs to get the last couple Arcade CGs, other than that I have every last thing. I need a complete gallery hahaha. I'm thinking you might get something from beating Abyss? I know there are a couple that don't have a level on them so I need to do something special to get them. Kurushii Report post Posted August 29, 2013 I don't think any Gallery art is tied to Abyss. It's just Abyss is the fastest way to earn P$ so you unlock it. Unlimited, and AI Level Down are the best ones to buy imo for runs. Read this guide: http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/blazblue-continuum-shift-extend/141205-blazblue-continuum-shift-extend-trophy-guide-road-map.html I personally spent a month doing Abyss runs just to 100% it's item list. On average I see it takes people a week or two.
Master Of Chaos Report post Posted August 29, 2013 You can run Abyss with Unlimited Characters? Where is this hilariously awesome feature located and why haven't I heard of it? D:

MattyD315 Report post Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) Finally got past him hahah. But now I'm doing the 999 run. And I was wondering. Do you have to get all of those shitty items before better ones start showing up? I'm just seeing the same ones that I don't want cycle through over and over. I know I'll need them eventually for the 100% but I don't want to give useful stuff up unless I have to. Do I just have to wait till low levels? Oh, and by "get them" I mean acquire them at least once so they aren't "new" anymore. Edited August 31, 2013 by MattyD315
Kurushii Report post Posted August 31, 2013 It's 100% random. The better items drop from the bosses or w/e. I just did 500-1000 over and over. 1k+ isn't really worth it.
MattyD315 Report post Posted September 1, 2013 HOLY JESUS! I'm saved at 998, and I'm getting beaten up by Unlimited Mu. WTF with 11k damage supers. How in the fuck am I supposed to beat her?? I never came across the anti-distortion shit. I have Regeneration Lvl. 2 Victory Rush Lvl.2 and AI Reduce Lvl. 1. I do not see this even being possible.... What should I do to beat this bitch. And It took me forever to get there so fuck starting over. HELP.
Kurushii Report post Posted September 1, 2013 I can't remember what strats I used the first time I beat her. Sorry :/
