[CP] Ragna vs Relius

Discuss the Ragna vs Relius matchup here:

MOST of the frame data and game-plan from EX still applies to CP.

Match Start:

  • - He's pretty much a better you really. his normals are faster and have slightly better range(?)

Neutral:

  • - Stop him from getting Ignis and try to get him to block.

Offense:

  • - His twirl can still be grabbed, your offense is still the same as EX. Keep the pressure coming and move accordingly

Defense:

- Ok, so he has 2 new moves. Swiss knife that's plus on block and a homing blade. Don't try to mash out his pressure or you'll get eaten up. IB and get dat meter.

Is approaching this character supposed to feel like such a pain in the ass?

His 214A and j.D seem very good at keeping us at bay in neutral 

and outside of obviously instant blocking is there anything we can do about his 214C (the move where he sends Ignis forward and she slashes 3 times)

The wheel move you can disable ignis with a timed 5A or block 5A. If they do 214C you just have to block and face the pressure.

Be aware of where you stand though, he can do tricky things like 22B/C if you try to punish Ignis. Inferno divider's ability to blow up frame-traps comes in handy in this MU. If a Relius used 2D thinking it was safe you can correct him with an inferno divider in 2D's 3 frame gap.

 

When you do use inferno divider on wake-up you're taking a gamble even if you have 50% meter to rapid, because of led ley. (You can't Rapid whiffs)
