RifleAvenger Report post Posted November 3, 2013 I played a Ft50 with a friend who plays Hakumen, and had an awful time of it. I had to switch to Azrael partway through, because the matches weren't even close with me on Rachel. Neutral is a nightmare. I can play pressure fine and block him alright, but I'm getting stuffed in neutral. He gets in that range where his sword just dominates me, and any good hit he gets eats through my health. I'm just looking for advice on how deal with this guy.
Tari Report post Posted November 4, 2013 I haven't played against Hakumen in this game as Rachel yet, but if it's similar to the older games, you don't really want to be in that range. Your options are a bit lacking at times if you find yourself stuck there, though. - You can try moving back, but if you don't have rods or the likes on the screen, then you're running the risk of him chasing you into the corner and keeping you locked down. - You can opt to move forward and aggress, which is a risky option, and you have to watch out for getting counterhit by him. - You can wait and let him come to you to block his pressure string. This is arguably the most passive and 'safe' option, but also gets you the least reward and could still net Hakumen a decent amount of damage if he breaks through your guard. - If you think he's going to have to move closer to try swording you again after he pressures a bit, you can try using 6B for a CH. Risky move with decent reward. It's pretty typical for people to opt to just block. The thing about it is, if you're stuck in a position where the opponent has a clear control over the situation, you're probably already caught in his pressure and have no choice but to wait it out. It's worth noting that you can barrier instant block to shove him further back so you can get a bit more space. I tend to forget this option myself.

Haku's main approach is through the air so cat punch works but with agito not often. I try to get b-lotus out to start the zoning nonsense and it works well. I feel like in this mu you just want to get away and zone in a smart way. B-lotus just makes it a lot easier. Also eff Agito that move is dumb... Edit: Pumpkin can snuff out some stuff as well and its pretty hard for Haku to cut. Once pumpkin is out you can approach and even if he counters you can block those now (thank god). I'm still learning this MU, if I find more stuff I'll post.
