P4u at anime Boston

Recommended Posts

This is my first time at anime Boston and was wondering if anybody wanted to play some p4a with me. I know they have a game room where I will be spending most of my time and wanted to know if anyone was interested in playing.

(This might have been better off posted in the New England/Brain Box Boston threads in matchmaking, but regardless) Part of the NE scene is going to be there, from what I've picked up of our group murmurings on FaceBook and elsewhere. Most of the New England scene is focused on Blazblue right now, but if you go to AB and hang around the gameroom or bring a P4A setup, you'll definitely get some games in.

Are you going to be there all weekend? I can almost guarantee a few strong players will be there, and there's a small chance I'll try to go for Saturday.

The game room at Anime Boston is fairly casual; I haven't checked at all to see what floor it's on this year, but typically it's just a large ballroom with stuff like rhythm games against the walls, projectors for things like Just Wanna Dance and whatever flavor of the month game is out in back so anyone can watch them upon walking in, and tables set up roughly in each quadrant of the room for popular shooters, retro games, fighting games, and nonstandard fighters/Smash, respectively. That's how it's been most years I've attended, anyway.

I don't know what you use, but the fighting game stuff is pretty much what you would expect; any consoles that are set up will have a controller or two to use, but outside of that it's BYOC if you want to use a stick.

I was there like 5 years ago, back when BBCT was a thing, and it was pretty much a big ballroom with TVs arranged everywhere. I don't know how much of the stuff was provided by the con organizers and how much was brought in by attendees but I'm willing to bet it was primarily the latter. I would recommend you bring your own copies of BBCP and/or P4A if you want to be sure to be able to play those games. A lot of the setups will probably be occupied by random stuff like Vinegar mentioned otherwise.

In general I would always go prepared for the worst at anime con tourneys since they tend to be pretty casual, i.e. if you're planning to play BBCP I would not expect Kagura/Terumi/Kokonoe to be unlocked.
