Kagura Gameplay/Discussion

Confirmed Version 2.0 Changes
  • Ryuujinshou ([2]8x) now has a B version. B version is head invuln, C version is fully invuln
  • B Ryuubakusen ([4]6/B) is changed. The number of hits increases with traveled distance
  • Stance specials can now be canceled into Crush Trigger, Overdrive,Ryuuha: Gokuenjin ([4]1236C) and astral.
  • 6DC>2DB works midscreen
  • 2DA now causes a bounce effect on hit, no longer hard knockdown.
  • 2DC's second hit causes spinning stagger on ground hit
  • 6A causes ground bounce on air hit
  • 3C has reduced recovery
  • 6DB causes knockdown on hit, no longer bounces opponent
  • CH6C launches the opponent at a diagonal angle
  • OD6DC no longer has SMP, now slides on hit
  • 5DC wallbounce is shorter.
  • CH6C now wallbounces, gives hard knockdown
  • If only the first hit of multi hitting stance moves hits (second hit whiffs), it can now go into other stances
  • 5DA has decreased recovery
  • 6DA has reduced recovery
  • CH2DB is no longer emergency techable
  • 6DA has increased invuln before the strike
  • Midscreen CH5DC now has a stronger wallbounce, 6C followup possible.
  • 6DC now has full projectile guard. No longer still loses health.
  • 6DC no longer air unblockable

wow...that's weak.

Kagura's Flash kick was only safe if it was air barrier blocked, If it was blocked on the ground or outright baited it was a free punish. 

I really hope that the bounce from Stance 2A allows a Stance 6A pick-up otherwise it sounds rather useless.

Again wow, that is weak for changes since his only equivalent dp is a charge move so he can't do it on command during some blockstrings or while IB'ing moves.  Watch it be ID amount of time to punish it now.

Apparently you can't do 2DA>6DA midscreen, but you can 2DA>5DA>66>5A>stuff.

 

We didn't really get anything changed from the sounds of things so far. Just more nerfs :(

Can people just stay on things confirmed instead of mere suppositions? 

 

2DA bounces seems good, hopefully it does not push too far.

Nerfs?Just read other characters changes, you will see real nerfs. instead of 2DA > 5DA > A orb > .....

if this bounce nullifies the 2D~C bounce the [4]6B Orb will not link and  ... Kagura is dead.

Why would it nullify anything for 2DC, they are 2 separate moves!!! Come on now. Just wait and see!

I'd rather have the amount of changes the other characters have had. This is some boring (and irrelevant) shit they're changing. Where's the experimentation?

This all sounds like nerfs to me.

Not even considering how awful Kagura's only meterless reversal will be now (Its a charge move, its not like you can do it will IB'ing and blocking overheads during strings).  I'm more worried about the slight bounce to Stance 2A.

I see two potential issues now, one is with a midscreen combo and the other is with the corner [4]6B orb oki that can't be delay teched.

So midscreen: 5/2C > Stance 2B (1st hit) > RC > 662C > Stance 5A > Stance 2A > Stance 6A > etc...I hope the bounce doesn't make the Stance 6A not connect anymore.

Corner: any bnb that hits an airborne opponent with Stance 2A into [4]6B orb oki.  I'm worried that the opponent will now be able to air tech or tech earlier than now which could ruin that entire set-up.

According to changes mentionned so far, they just destroyed Mu sama and I am really sad. If they destroy Kagura too, I will be very upset.

Ouch...if you cant follow up with 6DA after 2DA that is going to be rough. However would be interesting if the bounce is high enough with enough stun time to possibly link a B Orb in. Regardless I like this character way to much to drop him because of nerfs. Plus we don't even know if these are final. Think positive guys!

Stance moves can be canceled into Crush Trigger. I've heard they can be OD canceled too, but I've not seen any confirmation of that yet.

If this is true, Then I will have to hug Mori and love Kagura-kun even more. How much possibilities with this????? This can't be......... Midscreen damageeeee!

Collection of changes coming. Some are unconfirmed(*), and some I still need translating, so sit tight!

 

- Movement speed might be faster*

- 5DA guard point seems improved. Beat ID*

- 6A causes hard knockdown on air hit

- Can cancel stance moves into Crush Trigger and Overdrive

- 6DC>2DB works midscreen

- OD6DC no longer has SMP, now slides on hit

- Damage reduction on fafnir. Not as strong in combos

- 2DA>6DA does not work

- 6DA movement speed is slower

- 5C, 2C have increased hitboxes?*
- 6DA reduced recovery on hit
- You can use Barrier during Stance Cancel
- 2DC's second hit causes spinning stagger on ground hit -> Means a lot in crouch-only combos (Example: 5BB>5C>2DC)
- 2DB's second hit has hitbox increased so it reaches behind Kagura
- 2DA causes bounce -> 2DA>B-Spirit okizeme has been eliminated
- 5DC has decreased wallstick
- [4]6B has changed hit motion -> It's a lot more difficult to continue with 2C

These are some pretty odd changes. Seems like he maybe chafing to a situational character playstyle. I still dig the crush trigger cancel into any stance though!
