What character(s) is calling to you?

Since P4AU is getting ready to launch in the US tomorrow I figured I'd make a little discussion thread about what character or characters everyone is interested in? For example out of everyone I've seen so far Junpei and Adachi are the ones I like.

 

 : Out of all the new characters he's the one that looks the most interesting to me in terms of his playstyle with the addition of his 'homerun' mechanics. He also looks somewhat like the game's "Hype Character" as well which always interests me.

 

(Adachi Head Placeholder ->)   : Another one that interests me simply because he's my favorite character from Persona 4. His playstyle also looks fun at the same time with all the status effects and such plus...dat nickname.

It was kind of weird, but it went from Sho to Minazuki to back to Sho. His gameplay doesn't look particularly unique or amazing, but it looks very close to what I want in a CQC character with a good set of tools overall. When Minazuki was released I thought I was more interested in him, but he is more 'balanced' and 'consistent', which aren't things I wanted in a character. Plus I prefer to punch people out by myself than to rely on a cheap flying doll summoned out of my arse like the rest of the cast(no offense to Akihiko players, I used to main him)

 

That being said, I'm also interested in Labrys due to her changes from P4A making her more fitting to what initially caught my interest about her, so I'm gonna try her out too.

Rise Kujikawa b/c she's just the right balance between rush down and keep away. Mainly tho she has alot of oki and mix-up potential which I really like. I can see some ouroborus shenanigans as well as some cool stuff with that platinum disc move.

Ever since I saw Sho  in action, it was destiny. I even got to play one match with him at EVO and I knew.

 

But then while trying to learn to learn the game again in preparation for Ultimax, I found myself gravitating towards Chie   (it was definitely the Makoto color) even though I hated using her in the past. At the time, I didn't know how to do damage with her at all and I just believed she was terrible, but now I know of what she's capable of , or at least how I think I was suppose to play her. In the end, she replaces my current main until I get my hands on Sho   again.

Shadow labrys because i like how broken (minded) she is. I like psycho girls (only in my fighting games)

 

Margaret because she's totally hype (and i wanted something that plays differently from Shabrys and isn't low tier)

Ken Amada, mainly 'cause he was my favorite guy in SEEs from Persona 3 and he appears viable in this game. Koromaru makes him seem even more fun too. Plus he's a bishounen, I can beat people up with fab

 

Also Rise, she seems really fun and has all sorts of interesting moves that make me wanna pick her up. Same with Marie. I also wanna play Margaret because of the fact she has three personas. 

 

Not sure if they count as a separate characters but shadow-type seems fun too but mainly for aesthetic reasons. I would like to play as characters with distorted voices that constantly make death threats and evil laughter.

Of course I'm staying with my P4A original main and sub: Teddie and Chie. Their new auto combos look awesome and I can't wait to see how they play in Ultimax. Of all the new characters in Ultimax, I'm excited to play with Junpei, Ken/Koromaru, and Rise. Junpei, because I love baseball. Ken/Koromaru because I've grown to love the "Carl Clover" style of play in fighters. Rise because she's my waifu.

Oddly enough, the thing I didn't enjoy too much about P4A was the Persona system, when I found out a character wasn't going to have one I was all for it.

 

It just helps I love his personality, theme, play style, pressure and...the list goes on and on.

I got the Japanese version for Ken. I was hype for him the moment I saw his range. :D

Shabrys became so much fun that she went from "sub I shitlord with" to "no character should be this awesome, MU issues be damned." Public Executions for all!

While I did main  in the P4A Arena game, I feel interested in learning Shadow Kanji because he would never cease to amuse me .

While I still use  as I recover from getting my left side molars extracted and feel all around nerfed in my health, I'm thinking I would like to make   someone I can use good enough, I like how tactical she gets, and how can I resist all that gunfire? . I also want to get better at using  , but I'm still irked that his 2A isn't low , it would make life much easier when using him.

But of the new characters, I definitely resonate with Adachi and I'd like to give Yukari and Rise a shot.

Sticking with Labrys as my main. She has better pressure, better tools, and her combos just flow better in my opinion. Sure, she's in the same spot she was in back in vanilla in comparison to the rest of the cast, but I'm having a blast with her, and that's all I care about.

As for a sub I can't figure out who I'm liking most out of Rise, Marie, and Liz.

Margaret Hands down day one main, she feels like a genuine boss/ultimate character and she's loads of fun lol

 

but characters who I like that I might sub, Marie: love the weather system and her traps, Adachi: status ailments r cool, Yukari: her zoning is fun, Rise: because I loved I-No in GG lol

I still have to try the P3 cast, DLC trio & all shadows in this game. (Can only play weekends)

 

But so far, Teddie is my fav due to having the most success with him & liking the character/playstyle.  Kanji might have some potential.  Not sure on Chie/Labrys.

This weekend I should have more time to try everyone & decide.
