When Hazama's chain hit Kagura during Wyvern Kagura did not flash red nor did he lose health. The blue guard effect animation played instead.

Wyvern now has projectile guard point instead of projectile super armor.

Did you see Jin teleport into Kagura's arms after he did 6D~C > 2D~B > 5D~B at around 2:45 of the first video and again at 2:50? Oh boy my Kagura buddy is going to be happy about this.

And it was a purple grab too so that means that the stance followup does not need to be delayed like it does right now. Damn.

I wonder what might be causing this. There must have been a lot of subtle changes to Kagura's stuff that we don't know about.

His 3C looks so damn fast.

There is no way they didn't increase the range of his 5D~B. He grabbed the Jin from 3/4 character length away after landing a 5B. Now that's scary. No like that's horrifying.

This has always been possible. If they IB the second hit of 2DB, you're still in range to do 5DB to keep yourself safe.

Really? Well that's twice now. I should really test things before I post, especially when talking about information concerning characters I don't main.

Is it only possible if the opponent IBs the 2nd hit?

Saw the tech, didn't see the match, it was cool. Does anyone know exactly what the video was discussing? It is clearly about combos starting from 5D~B, but is it just because of the fast recovery of the move or is there something else being done to make it recover fast enough to do a follow up like 6C?

I am under the impression that it has something to do with canceling into barrier that causes Kagura to hit the ground almost immediately but I may be wrong. It might be more complicated than that but I don't know.

I'm pretty sure the idea is just canceling 5DB into another stance move low enough to the ground so that the game still considers Kagura airborne, that when he hits the ground he returns to a neutral state. You can replicate this by jumping and on the way down enter a stance and let yourself land while still in that stance, once you hit the ground you return to neutral.

 

Seems the most logical idea behind this, but I've not had chance to practice it yet.

This combo video is godlike. The part of the video that will make you go absolutely crazy is completely possible and easy to test, but I still don't know why it works.

So I've been trying to learn Kagura recently and was wondering about stance canceling a blockstring. I see it work a couple times in this matchup vid but it doesn't really look that safe. 

 

Also in what do people think of the Relius matchup? I've been away from BB for a while so I don't know where that character stands.

Kagura vs Relius in a nutshell:

Generally one side beats down the other.

Relius lost 3C as a jc but got 2C instead so his pressure actually isn't as braindead as a result.  Relius can still 236A to dodge through drive strings so flow-chart pressure will get you blown up.

That said, baiting out the 236A can be very rewarding as you'll get a CH and CH6DA is very good for damage and corner carry.  Just note that smart Relius's will protect their dodge with Ignis 6D/2D so be mindful if the wife is out.

Save bursts for when you get put into the corner as Relius unblockable 236D w/ j.B/C is very real and you can die in the corner as a result.
