Alright, I'll go first! Let's discuss a few MU's I've played! I'd like to hear how others feel about what I'm doing and what I could improve on. So let's go!

ShinSyn (Yukari) vs SuzukaJanJan (Yosuke)

I got wrecked here and I have a few answers as to why, but I really need help here. Anyone have any success with this match up?

Alright, I'll go first! Let's discuss a few MU's I've played! I'd like to hear how others feel about what I'm doing and what I could improve on. So let's go!

I got wrecked here and I have a few answers as to why, but I really need help here. Anyone have any success with this match up?

Sorry I'm late with the feedback (3-4 days since I told you I'd watch these, haha). Some of this will be based on the matches you had with ChosenNinja, as I rewatched some of those.

[1] Neutral: A big problem that most Yukari players have is the way they go about neutral. There seems to be this urge to just always be doing something at every possible moment. Sometimes, you really just need to chill and assess the situation. You can just opt to set a j.D and avoid immediately shooting an arrow into it, as that is still a strong neutral option that discourages different actions. The moment you shoot an arrow at one of your orbs is the moment the orb is no longer a factor at neutral.

[2] Dealing with recovery: You seemed to be going to j.2B a lot to cover the downward angles, Shin. While that has its uses, you don't want to use it so frequently. All of our air options have a sizable amount of recovery with the exception of j.A. Most of your j.2Bs end up getting punished b/c you used them really high up in the air, which would make the move go through its entire aerial animation and then go into landing recovery. That gives a character like Yosuke enough time to pretty much do anything he wants if your arrows whiff.

[3] Use j.C: I didn't see you using j.C much if at all for neutral. It has a nice hitbox on it and stays active long enough to discourage most approaches if it doesn't flat out beat them. The thing to keep in mind about j.C usage is that you're most likely going to be using it preemptively instead of as a means to react to something. j.C will lead to decent pressure options or return you to neutral if it's blocked, so it really is a tool that you should invest some time in. It's also a tool that you can use for assessing the situation, as it more or less leaves a wall in front of you that your opponent may have to respect until you recover. Oh, and it's a good starter for some reason...

[4] Pressure them! Don't be so quick to return to neutral. While our mixup game isn't great, our staggers are really strong and lead to big payoffs. You don't have to rely on AoA to open people up, as you can just bully people with your staggers, throws, and throw baits and that will do the job for you. Speaking of throws, when you land a throw that you aren't going to OMC for a follow-up, make sure you setup oki with rising j.D to get the high-low off of it.

[5] Combos: Last thing I'll point out for you is combos. You get a lot of hits that aren't hard to convert off of, so head to the lab and work on confirming stray hits when you have some time for that. Crouch confirms are really important, so you want to make sure that you have those down as well. Hopefully I'll get off my lazy butt and have some more optimized combos noted this week so you can add those to your arsenal.

The only specific information I can give about the Yosuke MU atm is to just avoid throwing things out for the sake of having them out. Set things up in response to a Yosuke exhausting his air actions or just avoid overextending yourself at neutral. You really have to play conservatively with how mobile he is in combination with the recovery on Yukari's moves.

You're right on all of those things. I'm still at the stage of "OH! I got that hit! But I'm too late to confirm" lol. I'll keep working on all my issues that you've stated for sure. Thanks for taking the time out to help me.
