[CSE] New Arakune Video, Critique & Discussion Thread ~ Now with updates!

I know we have a video critique thread, but we're missing a "video matchup/compilation thread" like most other character threads have. I decided to be a tad proactive and create one that will be a bit more organized and updated as time goes by. If you would like to see something added or if you have a video that you want posted here please PM me/post on this thread. Be warned, I may post double videos, since I am going to just grab videos from youtube, post them, and edit later.

For now I am not going to tag any videos uploaded as new or not, the list is still very fresh. However, after maybe a week or two I will start tagging videos that I have added, they will stay tagged with the date they were added for week. This is just to let people what videos are new so they don't have to sort through dozens of links and match videos to find new content.

Update List: 3/13/2012 2:12 EST:Creation/Format building. Videos are mainly pulled from Adakune's channel, if some are left blank they will be updated later with more videos, I would like to see if this page sticks before adding more to it.

3/14/2012 - 12:21 EST: Saving Progress - Finished copying links from jourdal's first page of arakune related videos, however I had a problem going to his second page. I searched "arakune" under his channel videos, it gave me two pages of videos however when I clicked on the second page it brought me to all his videos. For the time being I will just copy pktzn1213's videos until I can find a remedy to this problem.

3/14/2012 - 1:32 EST: Running into the same problem I had on jourdal's youtube that I did on pktazn's however I have linked both channel's content, surprisingly no makoto/plat/mirrors. I'll be adding some american/canadian vids, and I'll be updating when jourdal/pktazn upload arakune videos or when I rip from nico.

Also when doing timestamped videos, it's my preference to actually timestamp the video a couple of seconds before the match starts, so you can leave a little of buffering time. So you may see arakune videos where it starts with the end of a hazama/mu match or the start of a button check, let me know if you prefer that or if it annoys you. Changing it will take all of five minutes on my end to make sure the entire arakune community gets a pleasant viewing experience.

By the looks of it, you're serious about keeping this updated. The Video & Critique Thread was also meant to serve this very purpose, but as you noticed, no one wanted to keep it updated.

If you're up to it, I can lock the old on and sticky this one.

Just a few guidelines though;

  • YT videos only in the OP, unless the all the matches in the nico video involves Arakune. When I was managing the CS1 video thread, I found that including Nico videos was a pain as unlike YT, you can't jump to a specific point (until the video is already loaded).

  • When posting YT videos, please provide the proper additions to the url so it skips right to the respective videos. There was a passed around method for this, but it is as easy as pausing the video at the point you want, right clicking the video and selecting "copy video url at current time". Easy.

  • Post more than videos on Adakune's channel, that's linked in the OP of the current thread, and if this is to pull any leverage, you need to go out there. Link Jourdal or pktazn's videos. Hell if you're bold, I can give you a nice tutorial on how to rip the nico vids yourself, cut out the boring parts (non-Arakune matches) and upload those yourself. I was the one who found and shared the Firefox addon that they use to rip the videos.

  • And of course, try to keep it updated, I can understand a day or two as life happens, but if you find yourself unable to keep it managed, let me know so I can find a replacement or take other actions.

Alright, I'll get to work on it later today. I'll start with jourdal's vids then work my way to pktzn's. I generally use nicovideo redirector to make it easier but I do have a nicovideo account myself however I barely use it and don't know any arakune channels myself. Any info would be great. Expect to see some progress around 3:00 PM EST.

EDIT: Yeah, if I'm going to post something like a GG's video with souji or fumo I'll add the timestamp and the name of the person/event(if it's a major one like god's garden or an invitational and if I can tell the name of the person, however player names will probably be the LAST thing I do, getting videos is a bigger priority)

Yeah sure, I'll keep this up. Really the honor is all mine though, I do enjoy contributing as much as I can. If you could, please link the tutorial on how to rip things from nicovid and if you would be kind enough maybe point me in some direction when I go to nicovid, like some channel names, places where they stream tourneys etc. I just need a shove in the right direction and I can take it from there.

Well, as far as channels go, there is nothing too special going on on nico to the point of a user posting Arakune-only videos, just the usual channels.

Ripping them is easy, just download and install "Nicofox" on your Firefox (or in my case, Cometbird) browser, then bam.

Next download and install "Free Video Cutter" on your computer. This allows you to cut up the videos and isolate different portions of it, in case you wanted to extract only the Arakune matches.

After that, upload away.

There is another match which is in another video, but I didn't found it. It was against Nuzzt, and I get destroyed because I couldn't jump at the right time in his pressure.

Chap wasn't very conformtable against Arakune, Just to say it. I think I've done a well match against Skyll, even if I lose everything (yeah I know, I burst when I protect an overhead, but i was so sure to don't protect it).

PS: French commentary yeah, just cut the sound if you can't bear it.
