I always try to be mindful of her 2D, 5D, and 6D. My goal in the match-up is basically just to get in and run train on her. My movement is sort of restricted in this match-up since I can't move around the screen as freely as I would be able to do in other match-ups. Getting her to whiff swords at neutral and then rushing in via w[6D] or w[j.66 > D > D] tends to be what I normally opt to do. Since our corner carry was nerfed a bit due to loss of human gatlings, the new combo system, and w[5B] no longer launching it tends to take a bit longer to take her to the corner. But once I do she has a very hard time dealing with wolf mix-up (especially if I choose to use advanced forms of wolf mix-up) due to her lack of strong defensive options, and her low health certainly doesn't help her either. I'm never really too worried about this match-up, she has a hard time with Valkenhayn. Perhaps I just haven't faced any really strong Nu players yet.
With Tsubaki or Valk?
It's kinda difficult to say. I just keep reminding myself she has nothing that could be a threat to me when she's in dia mode and because of that, if I manage to lock her down in that mode, I can kill her easily if my pressure/mixup is on point. The problem with this however is getting in. I'm not sure what kind of player I'm up against so I can't say for sure what I'd do at the start of a match, but the main priority is try to try and lock her down asap. If I'm playing against someone unfamiliar then there's not much I'd think about, but if I'm playing someone who I'm familiar with I'll have a lot of expectations. If I'm full screen away, as Tsubaki I use that time to relax and acquire some charge but at the same time I'm looking at the player's actions. Valk doesn't have a hard time trying though...
Tbh what I think about in the match is really, spontaneous and in the heat of things, as it really all depends on the player.
Usually anytime before 3PM CST and after 1AM CST unfortunately. My days off are tuesdays and sundays so any time goes there. I havent been playing much due to upcoming finals, but when the semester finishes, I should be on more for awhile.
it makes sense, the gold burst system was exceedingly in lambda's favor. the whole burst system in general. green bursts are still shittier against nu than every other character, but at least there is OD now.
that's part of why gold burst was terrible. OD can end up just extending the wakeup period. against chars with no defense, there is very little reason for someone to respect your wakeup so you're much more likely to get a hefty OD punish. And you can use OD to punish someone mashing reversal on their wakeup too, but if you guessed wrong now you're on the defense, which is good imo. every char being able to do rags style ID RC on your wakeup was annoying as hell.
gold burst fucked tsubaki over pretty hard. couldn't get more than like 1800 damage. couldn't make good use of it and couldn't deal with it easily either.
was another terrible mechanic, like EX negative penalty
IMO it's only fair that OD can be used to punish long range moves with high recovery, gold burst was really an unfair mechanic.
yeah i was like "wow really"
