It never blue beats though. It has to be a true combo whether OD ignores SMP or not.
It never blue beats though. It has to be a true combo whether OD ignores SMP or not.
Activating SMP in CP doesn't keep combos from continuing. Players have to tech the move themselves. An example of this is Litchi can do Haku > Staff 2 > 5B[m] > 4B > ItsuuA > 6Kote > Haku (SMP activates) > Hatsu > RiichiA > IppatsuD > 6C(2) and it is a legit red beat combo, but it can still be teched during Haku.
Every time the opponent flashes blue during a combo (When SMP is activated) they can tech, unless, like I said, OD (Or that specific combo) removes the SMP system.
Hmm I thought the game would indicate if teching was possible. It let's you know that a purple throw isn't a legitimate combo, I'm surprised it doesn't notify you of SMP the same way.
Yeah I highly doubt that you can tech that combo. It would be blue if you could. I have seen one example of someone saying they use a really simple combo to finish people off, that has SMP in it. Would make no sense to use it as a simple kill combo if you could insta tech, no matter what. Besides that the whole point of red vs blue is to indicate whether a combo is legit, I still don't think this is the case.
I don't think you guys quite understand my point. Combos where a SMP move is used twice has no affect on the following combo, if the opponent doesn't tech the SMP move the second time it's used whatever hits after that is still a legit combo, and can be finished like normally. Which is why the Hazama combo is red beat the whole time, this is the case during REGULAR combos. But as I've said in all three of my posts, the Hazama combo may have some way around this rule.
Unless all of the information that has been given to us since the location tests, every combo where the same SMP combo is used twice can be teched when it's activated.

NEW YEARS.
NEW YEARS.
NEW YEARS.
I'm hosting, unless we get like thirty-bajillion people.
Games: Anything that anyone wants to bring, but stuff I already have here are: Persona, Battle Fantasia, Bomberman, Suguri, King of Fighters 13, Garou, Vampire, Psychic Force 2012, Tetris Attack, Art of Fighting 1, Bust-A-Move, Super Stardust, Pocket Fighter, Ehrgeiz, Star Gladiator.
Featured games are Mario Tennis 64 and Munchkin. I definitely wanna play those two. We can even do doubles on Tennis.
I'm off the entirety of both New Year's Eve and New Years Day so it starts at 10am December 31st, and ends 6am January 2nd. Everyone has to gtfo and go home by then.
Entry Fee is the same as last year: Bring snacks, food, or drinks. Going to need consoles and televisions, too. I would also like to stream gameplay and stream the room, too.
I'll let everyone know when it's up, but the stream will be www.twitch.tv/DPonWakeup and maybe Jackie's too.
I'd like a list of confirmed and what you're bringing, if possible, please. ANYONE IS WELCOME, even out-of-staters if you feel you're not going to get in a car accident on the way over cause of New Year's drunk traffic.
By the way, everyone on this list is guaranteed a Christmas Present.

See you at CEO!
@SMP Talk: I thought the consensus was that SMP impacted the techable time so drastically, that it might as well be automatically techable. Besides, when the Sparring dummy is set to tech instantly in every other form of a non-combo, it's weird to think it wouldn't do so in the case of SMP (assuming it is, in fact, immediately techable).
@New Year's: I'll be showing up with whoever's going (still need to figure that out... >_>) some time in the afternoon. My sleep schedule is sooooo fucked up, haha. Looking forward to seeing you guys there. :]
EDIT: Oh yeah, and what I'm bringing: Xbox 360, Hauppauge/capture card, laptop (with Melty Blood/Akatsuki, should it not be being used for recording/streaming), 360 -> PS3 controller converter, all worthwhile 360 fightan' gaemz and Catherine, universal component cables, an HDMI cable, and (if I remember) a power strip. Woo.

YO. Everyone. On New Year's Day, we're all going to breakfast at this awesome place called Farmer's. It's a great buffet so bring some money if you were planning on leaving your wallets at home for some reason.
As if you were scared to money match me in Mario Tennis 64.
See you at CEO!
