GG2/Dr. Paradigm/Resources

From Dustloop Wiki

Preface

This page is Dr. Paradigm's Resources page. This page is to be used to indiscriminately store just about any pieces of gameplay information that anyone may have that exists about this character, to make for a catalog of preserved content that can (and probably should) be fully realized and transcribed onto main character pages after review.

For simplicity's sake; anything you would want pinned in your character channel or character Discord can go here, such as:

  • Character Discord pins
  • Links or transcriptions of external personal documents and / or Dustloop User Docs
  • Tech videos, especially from Twitter hashtags
  • One-off or niche combo routes
  • Set-ups (for pressure, mix-ups, okizeme, or setplay)
  • Video analyses of matches and sets
If more opinionated works are posted, such as match-up charts, it is highly recommended that you include accreditation to the creator and any other important specifics (such as ordering or et cetera), so that readers can evaluate the sourcing. To readers, also note that this means you should consume at your own discretion. Not all strategy or reasoning may be fully explained, tested, or viable, so either be sure to ask the creators any questions (if possible), or do your own research in training mode.

DJMetals Quick Paradigm Synopsis

Pros:

  • Possibly the best aoe servant clear in the game
  • Possibly the best minion in the game with Gate Gunner and his Overdrive summon.
  • Low cost starting servants + starts with mobile units. This helps aleviate they're awful performance.
  • Stratagem, an army wide speed buff, is stupidly OP
  • Bonebiter might be the best elite armor in the game. Dual Horn and Leonard are also both really strong.
  • Has possibly the strongest and most annoying opener with Overdrive.
  • With low cost starting units, access to an insane minoin, having a army wide speed buff AND having the best AOE clear in the game? His early game is absolutely unmatched. He'll take over the entire map before you can even blink.

Cons:

  • Lowest hp of all Masters at 450
  • Geroppas have the same hp as drills, and are very weak.
  • Rollers are objectively the worst armor unit in the game.
  • Combat game is very bad. Low combo damage and not many combos at that. Relies heavily on keep away and using items to stay alive. Because of this and his low hp, he is very susceptible to master hunting strategies.
  • Can be difficult to control if you aren't used to his play style.
  • In 2v2 and longer drawn out games, he relies heavily on his elites and large army compositions, as his normal units are insanely fragile. He can get overpowered quite quickly if you aren't paying attention.

General build orders

3X Geroppas -> Summons Gate Gunner -> Geroppa rush -> Stratagem -> Bonebiter (usually by end of Round 1) -> Dual Horn or Leonard

Rollers can be unlocked, albeit rarely, usually in vs Izuna and Valentine/Raven matchups.

Spirit Seeker is situational and requires some setup to function correctly. Still, he can be a really strong siege unit.

Army compositions:

"What I also find funny is how the manual says that Paradigm has "objectively the strongest servants" or something like that which... technically isn't true. Bonebiter yes, Dual Horn maybe, but otherwise it's really just their cheap cost that make them strong. (It's not uncommon for Geroppas to loose to Drills, but again Geroppas are 150 while Drill are 210....)"

The other thing I see people often ask is "WTF do I do against Paradigm's Overdrive opener?"

Lol.... isn't that the fun one.

So... the most obvious one is to try to punish. One of the reasons why you see people rush down paradigm from the start, is to prevent him from doing the Overdrive opener, or after the fact to punish him for it.

If he gets it off.... you're best bet is to just run back to your MG, and fill your inventory with servants to prevent as many as possible from getting stuck at your MG.

Literally one of the best counters to Paradigm, is to force him into fights. This is usually why people hate playing against him... like you're playing a game of cat and mouse.
