GGXRD-R2/Resources

From Dustloop Wiki

Guilty Gear Xrd lacks a few built-in quality of life things like hitbox viewing and robust replay tools. However, third party tools exist to plug these holes, and make your experience with the game better!

Some of these tools may be nonfunctional after the rollback update.

Labbing Utilities

Rev2 Wakeup Tool

Rev2 Wakeup Tool's interface

https://github.com/Labreezy/rev2-wakeup-tool/releases/latest - Helps with practice against wakeup reversals.

https://github.com/Iquis/rev2-wakeup-tool/releases/latest - Different build that may work better for users experiencing issues with the original.

How to Use & Samples

The Rev2 Wakeup Tool operates in numpad notation, and uses what you feed it to determine what the dummy should do on wakeup. "!" is used to denote the actual reversal frame (the frame the dummy wakes up), and inputs can be placed before and after the reversal frame for inputs performed before and after wakeup. You can choose whether these reversals should be done on wakeup or out of blockstun, and assign them to any of the game's three recording slots. These sequences can be as simple or complex as you can think of and input.

Additionally, you can set the dummy to burst between two given numbers of hits, with a given probability of bursting on any hit.

Here are some examples and use cases:

Basic

6,2,!3S - Wakeup DP on Slash, for example  Sol Badguy's Slash Volcanic Viper

4,5,!4 - Wakeup backdash

!6PH - Wakeup throw OS on Punch

Advanced

!4,4,4,4,4,4,1,1,1,1,1,1 - Wakeup blocking high, and then switch to low. However, this will lead to a wakeup instant block, which may not be desirable.

4,4,4,4,4,4,4,4,!4,4,4,4,4,4,1,1,1,1,1,1 - Wakeup blocking high, and then switch to low, without wakeup instant block.

6,2,!3S,5,5,5,2,3,6H -  Sin Kiske's infamous wakeup Hawk Baker special canceled into Beak Driver on hit and block (making the DP whiff is necessary for punishing it)

Labtool

rev2 labtool's ui

https://github.com/PCvolt/rev2-Labtool/releases/latest - Basically a supplemental training mode UI.

Gives a detailed readout of character stats:

  • Remaining health and guts
  • Meter
  • RISC
  • Stun
  • X and Y position

As well as a more robust frame data display, showing

  • Gaps

Combo Recipe Manager

https://github.com/WesselKuipers/GGRev2ComboRecipeManager/releases/latest

Allows you to share premade combo recipes (like in the combo mission mode ingame) via files.

Automatic Replay Viewer

https://github.com/taylorsussex/AutomaticReplayViewer/releases/latest

Automates the process of viewing batches of replays. Works for multiple games.

Hitbox Viewer

Hitbox Injector

https://github.com/kkots/ggxrd_hitbox_overlay_2211 (Current as of Nov 16th 2023)

The original version by Altimor no longer works in the post-rollback era, but Kkots, with help from Worsethanyou, put together this updated version.

Use function keys (e.g. F1, F2) to toggle black backgrounds, camera centering, and gravity. The effects of the injector are permanent until the game is closed.

boxdox.bb

http://boxdox-bb.dantarion.com/#/viewer/gg_revelator_104/

Only supports up to Revelator 1.04- very outdated.

Input Tools

Eddienput

https://github.com/nirgoren/Eddienput/releases/latest

Allows faking of a 2nd player's controller in order to share canned recordings.

Modding Tools

bbscript

https://github.com/super-continent/bbscript/releases/latest

Compiles and decompiles character scripts for multiple Arc System Works games.

Rev2 Mod Loader

https://github.com/super-continent/ggxrd-mod/releases

Loads or extracts custom character scripts at runtime. Can be used online provided that both players have identical mods.

Vulkan Wrapper

https://github.com/reddelta11/dxvk-async-Xrd/releases/latest

This is a Vulkan wrapper designed with the intent of reducing "chunking" and FPS drops. It's unknown if this mod actually helps as of the writing of this part of the page, but the creators are looking for feedback.

  1. Open Cheat Engine
  2. Open GGXRDR2
  3. Go to character select in training mode and get to the point where you can select a stage
  4. Navigate to Ogre Valley's entry in the list, but do not select the stage

  9. (Optional) To turn the debug stage into a chroma-key stage, find the file TestMap_BG.upk in your GGXRDR2 install directory and replace it with the attached file. [WARNING: be sure to create a backup of the file before you replace it]
