The third main installment (seventh overall) of the Guilty Gear series, Guilty Gear XX: The Midnight Carnival (released as Guilty Gear X2 in North America and Europe) furthers the plot of the series, as well as introduces new characters and gameplay mechanics. Psych Burst, a mainstay of the series, and Force Roman Cancels, a mechanic unique to the XX series, are introduced in this game.
